      Get a large nut, and bolt. Situate the bolt through the hole, where the brake calliper was... use an old brake pad and put this behind the brake disc... use the nut, and bolt, to push the old brake pad, situated now, behind the old disc... and tighten, as much as you dare... leave it and tighten some more until the disc pops off!

    Hi, good video, 'interesting' tale, (I've been an electrical contractor / later a builder then a clinical hypnotherapist, and have MANY tales but I would concentrate on showing viewers' what needs to be done), but, it would be GREAT to hear about more technical things, involving vans' / cars' etc.
    Can I ask... I can do these projects BUT, I thought that when tightening up the bearing... you needed to use a torque tool, (in previous bearing works', I've done... ((castellated nuts' etc)), I used to tighten the nuts' up to where the wheel wouldn't move then a slight move, back, where the wheel could move and then fit the split pin... I'm doing my son's van, soon, and was worried about the torque settings, on the bearings', but as per your video there seems to be no worries... just tighten as much as possible? DON'T get me wrong... you did well, and thanks for uploading it!
    SO, does the bearings' need a torque tool, or not? Thanks!

      Technically it should be talked I think it's somewhere around 270 newton meters but in English that's just tight to be totally fair most of these bearings nowadays aren't really affected by torque as such because their sleeved in the center so you can only do them up so tight before they will not do up and Crush the bearings anymore the talk is more for it not undoing itself

    You grease up before you put the disc on?

    • @lifeRobrandom

      There is no need for Greece I put some on the shaft just to prevent rust but the bearings are pre lubricated

    Hi Rob I just received set of rear disc brakes + disc pads to my Vivaro mk2 however without new hub nuts and dust covers , can I use old ones , or is highly recommended to use new ones. I can't find to buy only hub nuts + dust covers only unfortunately

    • @lifeRobrandom

      They can be reused and it's common practice too some disks do come with new hubnuts .I've never yet seen any come with dust covers.you can take them off with the screwdriver and a hammer work around it and you can take them off in one piece without damaging them

    Hello please can you explain why the disks wear down unevenly like that because my discs have done the same?

    • @lifeRobrandom
      @lifeRobrandom  6 месяцев назад

      Generally uneven disc wear is called by stuck pads that aren't moving freely in the carrier or caliper slide pins the task sticking
