First of all, thanks for the video you made, you helped me a lot, and it's definitely one of the best on the net! I have a problem, randomly, it happens a lot, I can start up engine with the button + brake even without having rfid running! I would be happy if you could help me with this! It's scary to leave my car in the driveway lol
That seems very odd! Maybe the kit you bought is defective with regards to the rfid sensor. Did you get the one which I linked in the description? Or one from a different manufacturer? I would suggest contacting them, as unfortunately I can't think of what could be causing an inconsistent problem like that. Maybe there's a short on the board where the rfid ring connects to. I would be very interested to know what they say.
I just looked at your video and I am ordering it because of you . you make it look so easy and I always wanted one on my Montero sport. just ordered it can't wait thanks for the tutorial. good looking out.
Do you know how easy it is to to hack RFID? I could copy and clone your transponder from across the street... Awesome! I won't have to jiggle the locks with a shaved key to get in And you saved me the trouble of breaking your steering column by disabling it. Could it be any easier? If I come across this anywhere believe me I will take your car...in broad day. I'll just get in a drive away like its mine... Cuz it will be.
Not a bad video I have to say you actually showed pretty much everything including the steering lock so good job man most videos don't show you half of what your supposed to do :) I'm installing this in my wife's car for her and this helped alot

If it keeps cranking and doesn't start try double checking your ignition wires with a multimeter. Compare how the key powers them on and off during crank with how the module does it. You may have ignition and accessory wires reversed.

Daryl gonzalez hey man... What year is the civic? Might have to try and see if a universal immobilizer bypass module will work with that chipped key first. What I would suggest is to check the description, get the bypass module and push to start kit, and then email me when you're ready to discuss. :) Paulsamaroo@gmail.com
great job on this video on how to explain this better then most others have. I am now wanting to do this to my 2007 chevy equinox now thanks for the know how
1, my best guess would be to research, find and wire it up with the wire that gives power to the radio and accesories. while the car is still off( might have to consult with a shop if you are unsure which cable could be used instead of acc). if there is not other wire, then a good option would just be to wire it up to the 12v from ignition 2 that comes on when the car is on but off when vehicle is turned off. 2.the brake signal is easy enough to identify, get an multimeter that lets you know polarity then on your brake light pedal on top there is a switch. put the multimeter red lead on it and the negative to a metal part. then push the brake. if the multimeter shows 12v, and it shows correct polarity then its odviously 12 volt at the switch. get a good diagram for your vehicle , a multimeter then do it very carefully, this is not a type of job to be rushing into, especially if you are asking around about what kinda of polarity is the brake signal on.
Have you tried to take a look at the key assembly and the socket to which the assembly is connected,,how much wires are present in the socket??????... And how do you switch on your accessories????Cant you switch on the radio without turning your car on ????
Hi. Really nice idea. My ignitio nkey won't work properly, just in one position start the engine. I have the same car as you have, but it's a wagon. The central lock key is on the ignition key and also there is an Immobilezer. Should be the key in the key hole? Or this system can handle the whole thing? Thanks for your advice.
I have a Kia Pro'Ceed from 2008 and I'm looking to install one of these toys. I checked on the net în many forums about this item and on most of them the guys still use the contact key together with the RFID.
ali khalifa only if you are willing to put a spare key in the ignition lock, turn it to ACC position, and cutting off the head of the key; to keep steering lock disengaged. You still will need to disconnect the wires that connect to the ignition cylinder as shown in the video, so the only benefit of doing this is to not have to physically remove the ignition cylinder.
This is really cool, I saw a guy do one with an arduino before this one, but I prefer this kit. I wonder how hard it would be to have the car unlock automatically when you walk toward it.... I think I'll install one of these in my car, it's a 2007 but it's got basically no bells or whistles, I'm adding Bluetooth to it now to make it a bit easier instead of connecting cables all the time. I really do like this though, if I could fit it somewhere convenient, I would do it. I really like the RFID tag too, makes it much safer.
Is the RFID Tag "exclusive" for your system? If I installed the "Push Start System" to my 2 cars . . . can I interchange the RFID Tag to activate any of my cars with the same system? . . . Great Tutorial.
rfid tags are "coded" cars, so they should not be able to function for both systems. but what you can do is get one of those places that copies rfid tags and just "fuse" your tags toguether so that both will be present in either car and each system will id the tag it needs to. Also you can try to contact the chinese manufacturer and maybe they will be able to program two systems with the same rfid's , for an extra charge of course.
Cinnamon Wolf thanks bud 😊 you should check out the updated one... It's in the description. And i'm currently working on installing an even more feature packed alarm system. Stay tuned.
DAMN brah you da boss. that thing is sick, great way to modernize a reliable old friend. quick questions, is there a way to add an led light to the system so that it would blink when system is armed and not blink when disarmed? or does the push start button led do that instead?
hey DIY guy, i bought the unit, do you happen to know how it detects when the engine is on? so it stops turning the starter. there isn't anything in the manual and i am just wondering. I mean there is not rpm sense wire or anything of that matter in the box so kinda curious.
Hey man...from what I know, these kits usually work on a timer. I believe you can adjust the timer according to the manual (this is off the top of my head since this was a while ago lol). I remember in the manual, it said that there was a button to press to configure it. In my case, when pressing the button (and NOT holding it down), it wouldn't crank enough. However, when pressing and holding the button, it works perfectly. Hope this helps!
The Auto DIY Guy yea. i get that. just finished installing and it works greeatttt and it looks and awesome. hoping u make some more vids. jaja. who knows maybe its time to include remote start on your ride.
hi there. I bought exact same system like yours. mine seems to need longer time to start. if using back key to start the engine, engine will start easily.
Very helpful video and easy installation Thnku Sir can you make one video full introduction how to install normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering in hyundai accent 2003 to top model like to 2012, 2014, 2016 or any old car normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering wheel Sry for my bad English
nice video bro.. please the ground wire you connected to the grounded part of the car where did it come from is it from the transponder and what happen to it after the whole connection is done does it remain there. THanks
Hi how can i improve my RFID? say can we make detection range more further? coz everytime i need to bring the tag very close to the rfid ring maybe theres a way you dont need to do that instead once you get inside the car it already detects the RFID Tag without bringing it closer to the ring sensor? Thank you
Robert Quiambao the range for the rfid reader can not be increased without further more complicated and more money investment. there are alarms that do what u want but this is not it. the only thing that i would reconmend would be to place the ring where ur pocket is. the pocket where u put the keys always in that pocket so that everytime u sit, the ring will read the rfid tag automatically.
Okay, so I need a little help. I'm trying to install this in a 2000 Honda Accord and so far it isn't working. From what I see, I have the wiring all right, everything's all plugged in correctly and seems to be working. The car turns over fine and that portion is working. However, it doesn't actually start. It basically does the same thing as if I have a key without a chip in. I bought my unit and it said if I had a chip key to buy another part known as an immobilizer. I purchased this, but it doesn't seem to do anything. It's just a black box with a long wire or antenna. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
that is the kind of thing that a shop would normally be able to help you with. as transponder crap complicates things. could you add the link where you purchased the "immobilizer" unit from? so i can take a look at the instructions and see what i can gather from it.
There wasn't instructions. Now that I bought it, it tells me to put a key inside with a chip and it sends the codes over to the ignition through an antenna. Slightly pissed...
Well that seems about right. But the thing is, the antenna on many cars is super low range and the transponder needs to be mm away from the ring. Try the following. Put your key in the ignition. Dont turn it or anything. Just put it in all the way into its slot. Then use the push start button. See if it works that way. Lets see what happens.
If that doesnt work then move the key to the pre-ignition position. (The ignition should be disconnected for this step) The goal here is to check if ur cpu allows the start module to engage and reads the transponder properly.
Reive Pullen yes, you will need to buy a immobilizer bypass module. It learns the frequency code in the chip inside the key and "fools" the anti-theft system into believing the key is in the ignition.
Great video I used it to help install my push button.Only thing is mines didn't come with a RFID transponder so I picked a JHS motorcycle ID card lock. I own a 95 SC400 when I push the button the car tries to start but won't turn over. Could you possibly help me out with this?
Does this happen even when you press and hold the button to start the car? In my case, the push to start kit doesn't crank enough unless I press and hold.
Could be your after market ID lock blocking the push button's starter wire. From what I can tell this RFID transponder is Chinese product only so I'm guessing the quality isn't 100%. If you had to cut the starter wire to install the ID lock then I would recommend you reconnect it and try the push button again. If it works then you know the problem is with the transponder.
Ramadan Kareem, Abdelfattah. You will need a bypass chip to allow your car to start. You'll need to visit your closest car starter shop and tell them the make, year and Model; they'll tell you what bypass you need and how much.
I do have the same one system ready to be installed...by me of course... just one quick question, the break pedal switch is a (+) trigger or negative? my car is a manual transmission and required to press clutch to start, so can I skip or connect this green Break pedal switch to the Clutch switch and avoid to press both pedals at the same time?
+William Bray Ahhh I see ...I referenced the wiring diagram on the website...and compared it to my push to start system. In your case, you would have to join the two ignition wires from the push to start system, and connect them to the single Ingition wire from your car. Next, for the Accessory wires, join the two Accessory wires from your car, and connect them to the single accessory wire from the push to start system. Good luck, and let me know how it goes!
Bro...thanks a lot for the video, I bought the kit then I installed it but when I press the button the engine run but the car cannot start...where is my mistake ?
Abdullah Amer most of the time the "On 1" and "On 2" wires are switched. make sure the "On 1" wire is a constant ON. meaning if you try to start the car the voltage does not goes to zero and should remain 12v while ACC and On 2 wire voltage should decrease to zero.
you can place the sensor next to the area where your right buttocks pocket usually presses when seating on the vehicle, then the sensor will detect the id tag on your keychain and allow you to start the car without taking keys out of pocket.
I install the same model as yours. It works few times not all the time and I follow every direction according to wire diagram. Here's the issue, I put in the Transceiver to the transponder hear 2 beep & I press the brake and push the start button the engine won't turn on but the accessory mode does work tho? I even check the wire that goes to the brake switch too.
hmmm does sound like the brake switch is not being detected by the system properly. Are you 100% sure that the brake switch wire is connected properly?
lol I didn't press the clutch pedal all the way, when I mean all the way its really pedal to the metal. Sucks that it had to be press both brake and clutch at the same time to start for the 5 speed. Anyway thanks!!!
Bro, I cannot find my car ignition diagram, my car is Proton Iswara 2004, is there any website that might have? I had checked the website that you provided but dont have.
I believe you should have shown the final soldering connections to the ignition wires with shrink tubing. It is going to be hard for the buyer to make that final cut which separates the ignition adapter from the wiring. All in all a very good video, much simpler than I had thought. If it wasn't for all of the beeping going on I would install this in my car. Noise Pollution second only to car alarms and barking dogs.
Great video. You helped me out a lot. Do you happen you have the install manual? I threw mine away by accident and i would like to see how to install/cut my key and retain my factory alarm. Thanks!
hey man, nope unfortunately I don't have it anymore. But the instructions just stated to use a spare key, turn it to ACC position, and then cut the head off.
Mundo Modificado i tried checking for any power drain it reads 3mA. But i did change my battery, so far its running perfectly. hope it was just battery problem. Thanks
Hi there I stall same model of the push button start on my Honda odessey everything is alright except when starting it sound like runout of voltage when starting.... any idea to suggest? Thank 🍺🍺🍺🍺
I was thinking the same thing lol! I would say you'd have to get the antenna right up under your seat cover directly below your key pocket... And hope for the best. Haha.
You will need to either take a spare key, and put the ignition cylinder into ACC mode, then cut the head of the key off. OR you can remove the ignition cylinder like I did near the end of the video at 12:28
I have a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue will this system work with my vehicle I've been looking everywhere for a video and yours is the best I've found so far really like that I won't have to have my keys in order to use the system, makes its seem like it came from factory with a push start.
Charles Barnes thanks! You'll need an immobilizer bypass module for your vehicle (it's on the website in the description). If it's either too expensive or difficult to acquire, then you can try using a universal one on Amazon. Just search "universal immobilizer bypass module". Good luck!
That was wicked... Do you have any problems with the electrical noise generated when driving the car? Do you have any backup plan if the system goes down?
i have done some research about it but could not find a diy way to do it. but i am sure an alarm place could figure it out. i am guessing using a bypass module. . the cheap way that comes to my mind would be to make a copy of the key, then leave the chip part inside the ignition column. so that the ecm would always detect the chip and start the engine with the button. although. that reduces your car security for sure.
I’m assuming the transmission is also locked in “park” by the position of the key barrel. If so, will this installation (barrel removed) allow a thief to shift the car into neutral and steer it away without any keys/fobs?
Awesome job with explanation and video together with written staff below video (website etc)! What about key ring around my ignition that's reading the code from my original key? Do you need to connect that as well and place you original key near by? Tnx
Most of the time you'll be able to bypass that key code with a bypass kit. This will have to be installed in addition to the push button module. The type of kit and installation requirements depend on what car you have.
Thank you for that-though I'll need to put my second key somewhere near the ring receiver, probably below wheel plastics until I find a solution for it. I'm doing it on my Chrysler Crossfire and it's all made by Mercedes so it's making it harder, not to mention that there's no place to put anything inside the car so will be challenged to place that big plastic ring from the Push Start system on a good spot...
+veky V Be careful, those cars can be tricky. There is also a chip you can buy that is tiny enough to hide under your steering wheel plastics. It will have to be programmed into your car's computer and wired to activate with your keyless starting unit. Your steering lock may also be electric so check to see if you can bypass or integrate it.
@TheAutoDIYGuy: I did the install on my 2006 Chrysler 300 by following the instructions in the video. My car starts the shuts off immediately. what am i doing wrong?
How do you keep the battery from running down after taking the ignition lock out? Keeping the accessory on, my clock and radio keep power even when the car is off.
Because you can now control those same functions with the button, so when he takes the key out in the acc position, he can turn the car comletely off with the button itself .
Matt Hall everything that was connected to the ignition barrel (which controls ACC, ON, & START) will instead be connected to the module. Essentially the module will become the ignition barrel :) the module contains the relays to do the switching.
Opening up the module it seems that the relays won't be big enough to handle the currents my ignition switch is taking at the moment. The brown main feed to my ignition switch is 6mm^2 which is around 50A?
I had to test each one with the corresponding position on the ignition key barrel. ( ACC, ON, START ). Check the wiring diagram (in website in description) for more info specific to your car 🙂
+silas mandla zwane Once you can access the ignition wires, then yes it should work. However, I would recommend getting a more complete system (like PKE) for a car like that, so all you have to do is just walk up to the car, and it will unlock, and once the key is in the car, you can start it with the button. I will be replacing this system eventually with one like that. PM me if you wanna know more :)
I would say yes, but it's not that easy. Your Q7 should have a chip in the key that you'll either need to bypass it or you'll have to put the key in the ignition before pushing the start button; which defeats the whole purpose of the button lol. I recommend you discuss this with your local install shop cause they'll have the proper wiring diagrams and bypass data.
Ah...yes I didn't think of the immobilizer chip in the key. You are definitely on to something there. I agree with ijible ... your local parts dealer should have a better idea regarding that.
Just tape the spare key under the dash and the new rfid tag on your key will function as your new immobilizer chip. You will take out or blind the key lock anyway. Works on any car. It is just like the remote starters a few years back. I would get a system which includes keyless entry.
jay Teazy lol actually it's easier that way. The way I did it should be considered more "daring" 😅 I just prefer it where I put it because I can show it off like that 😉
Good tutorial . I have a 2007 Saab 9-3 the ignition is in the centre near the gear stick, also the ignition key itself is a whole barrel shape,im not sure if i could do this mod on my car,i would like to fit the PKE but i don't think my ignition system will allow it,any ideas ?
+Philip Carratt Because the Push to Start system is separate, and only requires access to the wires which are triggered via the key barrel, as well as the brake light switch wire, it must work. It will be independent to your existing PKE system, just like how I installed this without messing with my existing alarm system. What exactly do you mean by "the ignition key itself is a whole barrel shape"? Can you send me a picture of it to paulsamaroo@gmail.com ?
If you have the all plastic key then it may be a bit harder. Unless I'm mistaken, the car won't start unless you have the anti theft system bypassed and possibly the alarm. This unit essentially hotwires your car, so you need to tell the car that this is ok by showing it the key's chip.
+Philip Carratt yeah, I did some quick digging about your key. There is no simply way of bypassing the chip. The only bypass module that exists for your car requires you to open it up and put your key inside it. Then you'll have to wire it up to activate with the push button start. It's doable but you'll lose a key to the install.
OMG 10,000 views! You guys are amazing! Thank you so much for watching...it means a lot :D
You did a great job explaining clearly in your video and including all those helpful links. bravo

what about the steering wheel lock
We love this system. Really affordable. We installed it on our 95 F150 that we coyote swapped as well. Great stuff.

thanks i sure will after i get everything needed for it when i am all done :)
Love your vids, please make more! Maybe how to install an air horn set up or multi-horn set up.
two questions 1 what do you do with acc wire if switch has no acc position? 2 is the brake signal 12v or ground? thanks great video
+Neil Paterson 1) the ignition barrel of your vehicle has no ACC position? 2) the brake signal is 12V.
Have you tried to take a look at the key assembly and the socket to which the assembly is connected,,how much wires are present in the socket??????... And how do you switch on your accessories????Cant you switch on the radio without turning your car on ????

I have a Kia Pro'Ceed from 2008 and I'm looking to install one of these toys. I checked on the net în many forums about this item and on most of them the guys still use the contact key together with the RFID.
Thank you! I will be attempting this on my own now
Can i use it with manual gear car?
yes sir!
The Auto DIY Guy and can i keep using both of the normal key and push button together??
ali khalifa only if you are willing to put a spare key in the ignition lock, turn it to ACC position, and cutting off the head of the key; to keep steering lock disengaged.
Great video. Very thorough.
Suggestion why not use the connector plug rather than splicing the wire? It would look neater.
Nice job! Nice and simple video to follow :)
Ll Lock from what I know... It only lights when it is disarmed (that is... When it detects the rfid tag).
The Auto DIY Guy cool, thanks DIY man.
hey DIY guy, i bought the unit, do you happen to know how it detects when the engine is on? so it stops turning the starter.
there isn't anything in the manual and i am just wondering.
The Auto DIY Guy yea. i get that. just finished installing and it works greeatttt and it looks and awesome. hoping u make some more vids. jaja. who knows maybe its time to include remote start on your ride.
hey great video and step by step instructions. I do have one question what would have to be done differently with a car that has an immobilizer?
So when you've removed the key barrel, you have no more steering lock?
Correct, unfortunately :)
hi there. I bought exact same system like yours. mine seems to need longer time to start. if using back key to start the engine, engine will start easily.
Very helpful video and easy installation Thnku
Sir can you make one video full introduction how to install normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering in hyundai accent 2003 to top model like to 2012, 2014, 2016 or any old car normal steering wheel to update radio button control steering wheel
Sry for my bad English
nice video bro.. please the ground wire you connected to the grounded part of the car where did it come from is it from the transponder and what happen to it after the whole connection is done does it remain there. THanks
Awesome video thanks for sharing your skills
Hi how can i improve my RFID? say can we make detection range more further? coz everytime i need to bring the tag very close
to the rfid ring maybe theres a way you dont need to do that instead once you get inside the car it already detects the RFID Tag
without bringing it closer to the ring sensor? Thank you
Robert Quiambao the range for the rfid reader can not be increased without further more complicated and more money investment.
there are alarms that do what u want but this is not it.
the only thing that i would reconmend would be to place the ring where ur pocket is. the pocket where u put the keys always in that pocket so that everytime u sit, the ring will read the rfid tag automatically.
Robert Quiambao there passive keyless entry witch works like you want, i snstalled a cardot brand that costed me $125 on ebay
Hello my friend will it work only as a simple start button?Without connecting the other wires?
How did you mount the push button? You think that button could handle being mounted on a motorcycle? Btw great video
(The ignition should be disconnected for this step)
The goal here is to check if ur cpu allows the start module to engage and reads the transponder properly.
I know that's there also a "teach mode" that came with my kit, however, I haven't bothered to look further into that yet.
Awesome install video.. triple thumbs up👍👍👍
Good work. My car have an immobilizer, would this kit work for my car??? Or i have to buy another piece to make it work properly.
Ramadan Kareem, Abdelfattah. You will need a bypass chip to allow your car to start. You'll need to visit your closest car starter shop and tell them the make, year and Model; they'll tell you what bypass you need and how much.
+ijible. Allah Akram🙂🙂🙂. Thanks for your reply.
Hey nice work man and thanks for the video
I do have the same one system ready to be installed...by me of course... just one quick question, the break pedal switch is a (+) trigger or negative? my car is a manual transmission and required to press clutch to start, so can I skip or connect this green Break pedal switch to the Clutch switch and avoid to press both pedals at the same time?
It's a positive trigger. So if the clutch switch outputs 12V when pressing it down, then you can use that instead of the brake switch wire :)
Congratulations. 2009 honda jazj manual, is it feasible
Also my car has two accessories for the ignition switch one and two in your expertise which one do you think I connect I have a 2016 Hyundai Elantra
@the auto diy guy
Abdullah Amer most of the time the "On 1" and "On 2" wires are switched. make sure the "On 1" wire is a constant ON. meaning if you try to start the car the voltage does not goes to zero and should remain 12v while ACC and On 2 wire voltage should decrease to zero.
Nice job on that! Two questions: Where is the link to the car wiring diagrams and what brand is your kit?
Thanks! All the links are in the description
can u start the car while the id tag is in your pocket?
you can place the sensor next to the area where your right buttocks pocket usually presses when seating on the vehicle, then the sensor will detect the id tag on your keychain and allow you to start the car without taking keys out of pocket.
could i install this to my outlander 2008 only using the brake
Its not keyless entry? You opend your car with the keys. But can it be ketless entry to?
Jan Jaap here you go 😉 ruclips.net/video/QT-XmFuEGsw/видео.html
And what about steering lock ,does it works or not please tell me after installation the kit
steering lock was removed in this video with the lock cylinder.
Anyway thanks!!!
could i install this in my mitsubishi outlander 2008
Hi, there is the possibility that the car itself off accidentally press the button?, or that insurance flywheel once put on the car?
Bro, I cannot find my car ignition diagram, my car is Proton Iswara 2004, is there any website that might have? I had checked the website that you provided but dont have.
that finger at the end of the video xD
1:44 such a small thumb
needless to say, a well put together video. followed step by step, got it perfect :)
NyoomBot 🤣 I think it looked so cuz I over extended it lmao... Glad you got through!
Hey, it's a really nice video
I wanted to know whether my central locking will work after installation of push button.
after successful installation of push start button can I still use the manual key in case the push button fail?
Great video. You helped me out a lot. Do you happen you have the install manual? I threw mine away by accident and i would like to see how to install/cut my key and retain my factory alarm. Thanks!
hey man, nope unfortunately I don't have it anymore. But the instructions just stated to use a spare key, turn it to ACC position, and then cut the head off.
The Auto DIY Guy thanks bro. I did just that and everything works perfectly. Thanks!
You're most welcome buddy! Take care.
Great video to watch. I cannt tell that my transponder and RFID chirp/ communicate with each other. Is there a way I can find out?
Yes there is a way
what problem are you facing actually......
link to vehicle wiring diagrams not working. please send new link. great video man.
thanks mate i already installed mine and it works right big 👍
dudz edward Ahhhh awesome bro...glad you got through!
hello mate after 2 days my car lose its power any idea what happen? appreciate your reply cheers. Totally dead
Thank 🍺🍺🍺🍺
Please show more clear which adapter needing to cut off after remove key barrel. Thanks alot.
batteryone hey... It's the one that holds the ignition wires (12V constant, ACC wires, ON wires, and START wires) .
If you had installed the RFID ring under your seat would you have to take your keys out of your pocket?
haha...you know...that's not a bad idea, however, I guess that depends on how thick your seat padding is.
I was thinking the same thing lol! I would say you'd have to get the antenna right up under your seat cover directly below your key pocket... And hope for the best. Haha.
hy there,i have only one question...when u get in the car and steering wheel is locked, how do u start car(or how do u unlock the wheel) ?
You will need to either take a spare key, and put the ignition cylinder into ACC mode, then cut the head of the key off. OR you can remove the ignition cylinder like I did near the end of the video at 12:28
Okay,thanks for the answer :)
I have a 1999 Oldsmobile intrigue will this system work with my vehicle I've been looking everywhere for a video and yours is the best I've found so far really like that I won't have to have my keys in order to use the system, makes its seem like it came from factory with a push start.
Yes, but you'll need to bypass your passloc 2 anti theft system. That'll require a module or someone who's good with relays and resistors.
Nice video. I plan on purchasing one soon. Planning on putting on 2011 Camry. How did you bypass the chip from key?
Charles Barnes thanks! You'll need an immobilizer bypass module for your vehicle (it's on the website in the description). If it's either too expensive or difficult to acquire, then you can try using a universal one on Amazon. Just search "universal immobilizer bypass module". Good luck!
Thanks truly appreciate it
That was wicked... Do you have any problems with the electrical noise generated when driving the car? Do you have any backup plan if the system goes down?
Sathya Narayanan your ignition switch will still work
Yes we would have a backup plan...
No noise problems
Ok!Sir,my question to you is how do l install the on start button on the kantanka west African cars and trucks from ghana!
You'll need the wiring diagrams and some car electrical knowledge.
my car as a transponder in the key will that works
i have done some research about it but could not find a diy way to do it. but i am sure an alarm place could figure it out. i am guessing using a bypass module. . the cheap way that comes to my mind would be to make a copy of the key, then leave the chip part inside the ignition column. so that the ecm would always detect the chip and start the engine with the button. although. that reduces your car security for sure.
Yes it will work let me know what challenge are you facing,, i have done it in my car which has a immobilizer...
Yogesh Bobade
I’m assuming the transmission is also locked in “park” by the position of the key barrel. If so, will this installation (barrel removed) allow a thief to shift the car into neutral and steer it away without any keys/fobs?
Yep sure will 💀
Awesome job with explanation and video together with written staff below video (website etc)!
Thank you!
how did you get around the transponder on the key being required
Does the current for all the accessories pass through the module or are you using the module to control relays to switch the current?
Matt Hall everything that was connected to the ignition barrel (which controls ACC, ON, & START) will instead be connected to the module. Essentially the module will become the ignition barrel :) the module contains the relays to do the switching.
Opening up the module it seems that the relays won't be big enough to handle the currents my ignition switch is taking at the moment. The brown main feed to my ignition switch is 6mm^2 which is around 50A?
great job . There are many wires in the ignition. how did you match the ones except the starter cable?
I had to test each one with the corresponding position on the ignition key barrel. ( ACC, ON, START ). Check the wiring diagram (in website in description) for more info specific to your car 🙂
i think i have e few more problems :S is the steering wheel not locking when the key is not engaged in key lock . my steering wheel is locking :(
can i use this kit on Q7 2009 model
+The Auto DIY Guy haha yeah been doing it for over 15 years off and on, happy to help.
Just tape the spare key under the dash and the new rfid tag on your key will function as your new immobilizer chip. You will take out or blind the key lock anyway. Works on any car. It is just like the remote starters a few years back. I would get a system which includes keyless entry.
Nice and perfect video to Better understand .....👍
Because on the website with the diagram it's says I need an immobilizer, do I need one?
Can I install it to my 2008 Honda Civic with immobilizer chip in the key? hoping for your reply, many thanks...
What did you say to do at the last part? Cut off what what adapter?
monkyfays cut off the part that plugs into the back of the ignition barrel.
hey why do you say "if your daring?" is there difficulty in putting the button where the original key tube was?
jay Teazy lol actually it's easier that way. The way I did it should be considered more "daring" 😅 I just prefer it where I put it because I can show it off like that 😉
The Auto DIY Guy yea looks great the way you did yours! thanks for clearing that up!
great tutorial
The Auto DIY Guy ,thanks for the reply,i just sent you an email with pics
ijible Yes that's what t i was wondering with the Saab
+Philip Carratt yeah, I did some quick digging about your key. There is no simply way of bypassing the chip. The only bypass module that exists for your car requires you to open it up and put your key inside it. Then you'll have to wire it up to activate with the push button start. It's doable but you'll lose a key to the install.
