I think the most telling scene for Vernon is his conversation with Carl about his worries of what will become of his life when these kids are grown up running the world.
Well Vernon says that the kids are gonna take care of him when he gets older. But Carl tells him not to count on that because of how we was being to them that day.
Glad there was a mention of Trading Places from the cast members and the fact that Gleason was a good guy. They did respect him very much and I'm sure they miss him to this day.
Paul Gleason may have been a nice guy, but the assistant principal he played in The Breakfast Club reminded me of an assistant principal at a junior high school I attended in seventh grade who was a fucking jerk.
@@nopcshere6097 Yeah he has his hands all over Norma and Jack didn’t say anything until the end. He said, “Arthur if you don’t get your arm off my wife, I’ll break it.”
Gleason was also in the A-Team episode "The Trouble with Harry" (also starring Hulk Hogan), and Mr. T' s character set Gleason's character straight by calling him a bum.
Does anyone know what he said when he closed the fire extinguisher? I understood when he said all right but I don't know what he said before that🤷♂️🤷♂️
I love this! But I don't have any extras on my dvd, except for the theatrical trailer... Do you have some more extras? Are there other featurettes about the other cast-members??? :)
Yeah, the first one. Other credits include Trading Places, Arthur (original classic, not that shit remake), National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1, Gimme a Break!, Life Goes On, etc.

I wonder if Vernon also learned something as well.
“When I was a kid, I wanted to be John Lennon.”
“Carl, don’t be a goof.”
The funny thing about Carl is that the kids seemed to like him, even though he called them s***heads.

I am the eyes and ears of this institution, my friends.
Richard Vernon had a real Dick Clark American Bandstand dressing style.
Detention must not be that bad for Mr. Vernon given how many he dished out to John Bender.
Miss him. He. Was good actor.
Paul Gleason is my man, I love this guy!

Paul Xavier Gleason (May 4, 1939- May 27, 2006)
It has been nearly 13 years since Paul died
If Bender hadn't been there that day, the kids would've caused no trouble for Vernon at all.
Vernon has always been my favorite character in the film.
MrPurofan1 same
Gleason was in a Wonder Years episode (Scenes from a Wedding).
Yeah and was trying to get Kevin Arnold’s mother.
Was he? I don't remember that one.

@@a.b.s_productions Yep!!
if my mom saw what Judd Nelson look like now she'd die of shock
Shanethefilmmaker Knowing that grown folks mom's were young enough to crush on Judd Nelson is shocking

Richard Vernon, the main antagonist in "The Breakfast Club" his character is a strict, bullyish, rude, disrespectful kind of character.
Vernon makes a great adversary.
Did Paul Gleason ever play any kid-friendly roles?
Ewok Adventures
@@jerrymarkhamhaulndiecast Thank you.

I do feel Vernon had some good points, they just weren't shown much. He was right about what Bender would be in 5 years, I'm sure.
RIP

Hey, do you have more of these featurettes, or was this the only one? Where did you get it?
He was in die hard I think

Yes, he was Deputy Chief Dwayne T. Robinson.
Can anyone get more of these extras, pls?
Where can you find these featurettes? I don't have any on my dvd :(
do you have the scene where bender is "scared straight" by principal vernon?
Can you post more?
0:19-0:22 karma hits mr. Vernon.
Please tell me that at about 1:27 of this video that the red headed woman is not Molly Ringwald post plastic surgery.
