As a classically trained singer, its so great to see someone react to vocal music and have a great grasp of technique and theory. Your reactions always make me very happy. Keep up the great work!
Jamey Ray is the genius arranger for Voctave. Jody Mcbrayer is a member of Avalon. I’ve seen a couple of videos of them, learning that fact after seeing someone react to this. Very clear Tenor voice on him. His runs are magnificent.
Jamie Ray is the arranger of all Voctive songs. He also sing tenor in the group. He has arranged fpr PTX and The Voices of Liberty at Epcot which mast of Voctives members have been part of. Aall these singers have known one another and have sung together for years. Hence, their precision on cut offs, lead ins, key changes, etc. A highly skilled and professional group. The best Acapella group in my humble opinion with their wall of sound. Please do more Voctive any song will wow you. Check out their Prince of Egypt no video but you will be amazed. I am now a subscriber since I find your reactions very informative and love the excitement you display when doing them. Keep up the good work.
Voctave is the bomb. They're incredible. Someday, maybe around Christmas time, you should check out Voctave's renditions of Mary Did You Know? and Let There Be Peace on Earth.
This was my suggestion. This one always brings me to tears. Beautiful song, beautiful arrangement, beautiful performance. Thank you for taking my suggestion!
So nice to see your reaction! Jody McBrayer has been apart of the group Avalon since the 90s. Also I have voctave reactions searches on refresh each day to see new people discovering them. love it! If you really want to have the feels, The prince of Egypt Medley (audio only) is superb! Also the Disney Showstoppers Medley you get to her some of the percussiveness in the background and the Disney 90s TV Medley is just pure fun!
Two musts on your Voctave journey are 1. Disney Princess Medley (anytime), and 2. Mary Did You Know Feat. Mark Lowry (Christmas). You will NOT be disappointed. They have SO Many good songs to choose from, but these 2 are probably my favorites.
Love some Voctave! Their high soprano voice is the most beautiful, I usually find sopranos a little screechy when they go that high but not her. When it comes time for holiday music I strongly suggest their rendition of O Come All Ye Faithful, it's gorgeous and tenor EJ Cardona really gets to shine. Then, for a completely different and equally fantastic take on the same holiday song, react to Pentatonix's version, it's a banger (my choir did the Pentatonix arrangement a few years ago and it's the most fun I've ever had singing).
A common phrase used when coaching acappella groups, to illustrate the concepts around cutoffs, is this: "Do you stop singing to breathe, or do you breathe to stop singing?"
Heavenly! I love this video. :) Thank you for Reacting to it...I like your comments. I hope you'll do more! Another good one is You Will Be Found, Mary did you Know (this one will blow your socks off), Disney Princess Medley and Disney Show Stoppers is great. They have really fun and amazing Christmas music too. If you like to do Christmas Reactions closer to Christmas! I look forward to more reactions!
Nice reaction! Jody McBrayer had to leave the Christian group Avalon due to a rare form of the heart disease hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In 2016, showing improvement in the management of his condition,he released a solo album and in 2018 got back with Avalon. He is terrific and fits in with Voctave like a glove.
This is really nice & the first time I have heard a male cover this song. However Linda Eder (The original singer of this song) will always own it. It was written by her husband at the time for the play Jekyll and Hyde which she stared in. She was also the first ever undefeated singer on Star Search back in 1988. Here is her original version she did on the Rosie O'donnel show way back in 1997 I believe. ruclips.net/video/eKEHHeO9WFw/видео.html I have lots of suggestions on great singers that no one reacts to because they are not known enough but their voices are world class. Linda is one of them. Another is Gerfil Flores.
one of my favorite songs from jekyll and hyde to listen and to sing to; voctave and jody ARE IN THE STRATOSPHERE - THEY ARE JUST THAT SPECTACULAR!

My favorite song from my favorite musical... goosebumps every time I hear Voctave's version. So beautiful! Thank you for reacting to this one.
Loved your reaction....another good Voctave one is Mary did you know . It features Mark Lowry who is the songs writer.
For the first time, I'm mad that I can't press the like button too much! Great reaction. Full agreement, can't go wrong with Voctave.
To hear more of the men of Voctave in the spotlight, try reacting to the Disney Showstoppers Medley.
The arranger is not the man directing but is the man in the blue shirt with the two basses.

This is my favorite reaction from you.
You know, Jekyll and Hyde didn't get a lot of attention, but it had so many beautiful songs.
Great analysis!

Awesome reaction! Voctave is absolutely world class!!
My goodness the brother has some serious pipes. Very very controlled
Pretty sure Jamie is the master choreographer
The person that arranges all the music for Voctave he’s not the man directing but the man in the dark blue shirt.
You've GOT to try Jacob Collier's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert.
There are 3 songs; you could do them one at a time.
Jody Mc Brayer
Jody Mc Brayer is the lead vocalist on this song
Question, has Jarvis ever reacted to "Drummer is at the wrong gig"?
