I just realized that this mode might run into the same problems similar to the base game where the only killers people play are the high/top tiers because they keep nerfing killer as a whole in that the weaker ones can’t compete against semi-competent survivors.
@@generalpacman6414 the first 2v8 had this problem. Without Huntress or Nurse, gens were super fast and chase were super long. Huntress was in every game because of this. In this 2v8, people will play only Nurse, Blight, Huntress and Spirit (if they don't kill Spirit and Blight).

Honestly there is 150% chance that the rebuild pallets is going to become a perk that survivors get relatively soon. i really dont think they would make an entirely new animation for just a game mode
@@josholocko1132 mini realms dont really matter at the end of the day and what animations? i guess i also mean an animation for a core mechanic that survivors want to have. believe an event in the past had survivors doing stuff to hexes and eventually that became boons. survivors have been asking for a way to rebuild pallets and now that an animation is in play for 2v8 its pretty much guarenteed that is coming to them soon at this point

It's not really a new animation, the survivor does the generic healing hands animation and the pallet coming together is just the break animation played in reverse
Speeding up gens after a hook is the single dumbest thing I have ever heard. Why does this almost seem like a skit? That guy in the hat seems like someone out of the Hangover or something. Look at his face when he says that and tru3 has it paused. He absolutely knows it's insanity. If we won't "feel it" then WHAT is the point of it? Good god....
The main reason people wanted to play killer more in 2v8 is more of a subconscious thing. Having someone to help you out greatly reduces the burden of the role, meaning you don't have to do all the work alone. It becomes half as stressful to play. Also the "Every time survivors are hooked, generators go faster" is not a solution to snowball. It's a creation of a snowball mechanic. Now survivors will intentionally get hooked just to make generators go faster. That's how survivors think. They do the same any time they get any kind of edge, like the endurance off hook. 90% of them just run into the killer to tank a free hit because they've been given invincibility. You don't think they'll intentionally sacrifice two thirds of their lives to get an upperhand in generator speed? Are they insane?

I think the reason more people wanted to play Killer in 2v8 is A.) it was the first time you could play it with a friend, and B.) less stress when you have someone else with you
A major reason why killers slugged during the endgame was because if you caged survivors they would spawn right near powered exit gates with their teammates. This would lead to immediate resets and having the survivor get a free escape. Slugging the survivor during the end, made it where survivors were forced to come to their body to pick them up. This usually lead to some potential pressure for the killer and allowed them to get comebacks. I feel there needs to be something done for endgame scenarios. Maybe make it where survivors don't spawn right beside gates when they get caged. That would probably fix the slugging issue during end game. But from what BHVR has just done,killers will be completely screwed in endgame. *Cage survivors and they spawn by powered exit gates *Slug survivors and they may have base unbreakable No comebacks allowed 😂
In my experience they were doing it when there were still gens being done and my teammates were being dominated. All they had to do was give unlimited unbreakable.
in a sense they are giving survivor a "power" just like how each killer has their own unique power (Blight rush, Nurse Blink, Billy chainsaw). why not just let them fly over the mape edge wall and escape instantly? pretty soon survivors will be able to put killer on hook.

@@aidanspradley9533 so here my hot-take, This mode will be Survivor favored OR killer favored by how long or how short cooldown is for ultimate ability. If you make cooldown short, like 60 seconds than survivor will be busted and imbalanced because you actively will be punished for anything you do as killer. If you make cooldown long like 90s than Slugging will be strong and allow killer to win.
The catchup stuff is so stupid as it can get abused, survivors can just leave gens at 99% to not lose the stack and killers will try to slug as long as possible to not give out the gen speed up. If you can REALLY feel that gen buff/debuff then what if killers decide to never hook and aim for bleed out since gen speed would drop so low it could be viable playstyle. Devs are so clueless about the game, it's a miracle the game is still running after all these years.
That can be fixed by making the gen slowdown from progress rather than completion, and the speed up from downs rather than hooks, but... fuck catch up mechanics. I'm sure most of us don't want them.

They just keep giving survivors stuff for free. Survivors already require a lot less skill than killer, and they keep rewarding bad survivors. What makes it unfun most of the times is that they keep giving survivors free agency with little drawbacks and little to no skill required. I wouldnt mind getting outplayed if it actually required some skill for them to do anything. And we keep seeing survivor players being the most toxic players comparatively, and the biggest users of cheats, even tho the game already gives them free agency.

More and more developers across all gaming genres want everyone to feel good and have participation trophies even if they are getting outplayed or are not fundamentally good at the game they are playing. Its getting pretty annoying.
It's not just in games, it's across the board with everything. Schooling practices, parenting practices, punishing successful people harder because the governments don't want you successful, they want to maintain full control over you. Easy to do that when everyone is as tough as the Ghostbuster marshmallow man. Heavy topic to bring up but its the truth, we just been noticing it in games a lot recently.
You have to keep in mind, many of the devs are survivor mains and do play their own game. They are allowing their bias to infiltrate their product and playing it off so casually and nonshalantly. It disgusts me.

They have created a game where 1 player plays vs 4. Of course they will turn it in a direction where 4 players (what are 80% of the players in a match) are happy with the endresult. And they even managed to give this side the feeling that killer is still to strong and survivor needs more buffs.... its absolutly insane. Now in 2 vs 8 of course they will make just "lil" changes like turning up gen speed if to many survivors are hooked, cause now you even have 2 killers...they need to feed the people. Im actually surprised they made a 2 vs 8 mode and not 2 vs 12
If a survivor is under a pallet, forget about picking them up. You can barely do that in 1v4, imagine doing it with 50 mosquitoes flying around you. I thought this was THE REASON why they made the stomp a thing...
soon in the next iteration of 2v8 mode, the survivors are going to stun the killers multiple times, t-bag killer and rebuild the pallet in front of the killer's face while the killer is tunned, flashlight them to blind them for 1 min and steal their weapon too, and fart on killers face too while at it
I'm at 11:15 and my interest in the revamped mode is already at zero. Killer is gonna be borderline impossible to win unless half of the Survivor team are complete potato and Survivor is gonna be a pain because they added Blight and Spirit alongside Nurse, so what are Killers gonna do? You will see teams of Huntress/Nurse/Blight/Spirit every single game (Huntress mostly because her aura reveal passives helps all of the strong chasers who will do the heavy lifting), it's only natural. Why would you play Trapper or Wraith when Spirit or Blight are available, it's a no-brainer really. Yeah... I will probably speedrun the event tome if there is one and that's that. Then again... 1v4 is gonna be rough as well because of split queues so you're gonna have to wait for 10+ minutes to get into normal Killer matches as well... sigh. Why BHVR, just... why?

So many comments i see are going "oh i will just play 1v4 then" because simply making the killer side suffer (again) is not going to magicly make the survivor side more appealing. Escapes were so mutch easyer alredy in 2v8 and yet still the survivor side is even more boring over there because you dont have your perk builds and items. And the fact that litteraly 1 role is superior to the other 3, who are 2 of them medicore and the scout is simply useless. They dont get it, they never will. And again, just like in the main game, they cant decide if this is supposed to be a comp or party game.

Picking a survivor game is become the most important part of all DBD, ... and it is really boring, its much harder to hook someone trhen it is to actually down them...this dreadful experience we where saved from in the first 8v2 but now we need everything to be just like the normal game.... JESUS, I hate this devs...
The Killer cue time was horrendous last time round, waited an average of 20 - 30 minutes just to get into a lobby with my mate. I almost fell asleep a few dozen times because of the waiting time. The worst lobby waiting times was about 50 minutes, that was infuriating and to make matters worse the stupid lobby shat itself as soon as I got into the round.
Also i think when one of the devs says the "no we didn't" i think this is a late response to the other dev saying that internally they were calling active abilities "ultimates". that is my assumption on why he was saying no we didn't because that seems the most logical. (i did just get to the part of chat clarifying this. didnt think someone would mention it so never mind)
I genuinely don't understand why they are rewarding survivors for making mistakes. If you mess up and go down that is supposed to be pressure for the killers. Not free gen pressure for your team because you got downed in 10 seconds. And you know survivors will be throwing themselves at the killers to purposefully get downed so when they get hooked the other survivors can slam the gens. Meaning killers will just slug. Are these devs really this incompetent?

100% there will be a perk to rebuilt pallets in the normal game in the future. 100% will start very long to not scare killers and later will be buffed. I just know this game for so long...
Wasn't the basekit Unbreakable already an issue during the Finisher mori PTB? Where the killer would search for flashlight/pallet savers meanwhile the downed survivor would pick themselves up. And yet they think bringing flashlight/pallet saves back along with basekit unbreakable in 2v8 is a good idea?
The most stupid idea they could come up with: PUNISHING Killers/Survivors for just doing their objectives (hooking, generators). So being skillful and effective at doing your objective will not matter because the other side gets buffed in return. They said they had issues with slugging, and now they punish Killers for hooking?! For me the greatest thing about the 2v8 mode as a Killer was the fast pace and chase focused gameplay. Downing a Survivor and just sending them to a cage in 1s to continue the action. What did they do? Killers now have to pickup wasting more time and even worse: care about 7 Survs that could potentially Pallet/Flashlight save.
Maybe people are wanting to play killer in this mode. They literally said they would like it if more people leaned more into survivor more since it was a little boring and stale. With that being said, making survivor a little more interesting would balance how the Q times more favorably so no more 15 minutes Q times for killer.

I think that moment around 25:35 where the two gentlemen share and inside moment… I believe the broadcast of that show is done producer style where people are in your ear and the dev responded to someone on the other side… my brain knows it could be anything but I really feel the dude on the other side of the camera talking to them said something like “so you’re bringing back slugging or something no survivor likes, and the dev on the couch couldn’t help but say no we didn’t and the host tried salvaging the moment like woah no 4th wall breaks he’s talking to me let me warp our words together to kinda make sense but be confusing as well

another thing with the maps being bigger is that there is less walls to use as killers cant use lightborn so if the survivors have 8 flashlights you just cant pickup we wil have to see how this turns out but it might make killers too weak
Survivors rebuilding pallets just to get hit by a hatchet or a nurse blinking threw it, idk most killers technically dont care about them but that's just a case of the strong getting stronger

All EA sports games have or had that catchup mechanic in them. I used to play the NHL games throughout the 2000s and it was hilariously goofy at times. Why they'd even apply this against the CPU is weird. You'd be winning a game by like 2 goals and when you get to 3 minutes left all of a sudden the CPU becomes like 20 times as effective at everything they do.
I've been asking for a pallet rebuilding perk for years. You would have to collect the pieces from 2 broken pallets to be able to make a new one, you can place them where other pallets spawn but you can't take parts from the same pallet or the ones you make, the pallets would stun for less time and and break faster but if you get a stun on the killer it would stun for half the time and break on impact considering its makeshift.
There wouldn't be a point to running the perk then because you waste time getting the pieces just for a killer with resilience or brutal strength to just walk threw it like it's nothing as cool as a perk like that would be it'll put your team behind (solo player perspective)
One modification to that idea is it takes 3 pieces to repair a pallet and one is always at a pallet that is broken when the perk is enabled. That would avoid the coding complication it would be to know what piece can and cannot be used where.
If its like before and 4 people can choose the Flash light loadout that’s gonna be so bullshit and pallet rebuilding? (Anti slug is great tho i hated killers doing that for 5+ mins)
In my experience with 2v8, killers could only really win (like 6k+) IF they did well right from the start and kept up the momentum all throughout. The anti-snowball mechanic punished them a lot more, especially with the addition of flashlight saves.
So the point of this was to have a more of an interesting experience as survivor which would aim for more people playing it and would help the Que times a lot. The slugging thing did happen since there was more chances to slug objectively, but I wish they made a hook optional with built in fire up. The flashing light thing, idk why they’re adding it because wouldn’t that encourage killers to slug more often? Can’t use light more and people will prolly save pallets as well to get a pallet save which is backwards and the only change that i see becoming a problem. I feel like they aren’t getting the feedback from the community that actually know how to play the game. We will see
The killer was fine..They should have just added more to survivors making it feel like you have more options and gaining interest. They don't know balance. 😂 I also notice they only said that killer cant have the same class ... I don't think that applies to survivors. I bet the 4 killer classes is just the passive from the only 4 killers they had last time. So they can add the killers without adding anything. Recycling the killer abilities from the other 4. 😂
i think its a good thing to add pick ups for the reason that it made flashlights very useless, pallet stuns also useless, the anti slug is was very much needed, i think they should also add a choose 1 or 2 system where if the killers cant decide between who gets what loadout then when the game will give one player that and the player who didnt will get the second class they would prefer, how they could fix this mode i reckon is just remove gens, the chase is what people enjoy most is it not, make 2v8 not about gens make it about surviving for a certain amount of time, its really that simple the main problem with dbd has always been gens (there the main objective for both sides really as yes while the job for killer is to kill survivors they need to protect gens in order to stop them from leaving which results in killer and survivor gen perks which infuriate people)
I really do believe behavior would benefit if they did small changes and adjustments more often than just doing a whole lot. Only change which im somehwat okay with is the unbreakable base since its ti some extent to counteract the slugging issue but, making it able to rebuild pallets and having killers waste time to pick up a survivor and then teleport/hook seems kinda pointless sinxe itll just incentivize slugging so i dont get that logic? I dont like the flashlight save opportunity to be back in at all. Im kinda hit or miss with the catch up system but its usually to balance the fun aspect in a way so one side doesnt feel like they are getting demolished, especially if they start playing better as the game goes on
It sounds to me like a tug of war of sorts to stop snowballs on both sides. If like 3 gens pop in short succession with no hooks, gen repair speed will slow down a good bit. If on the other hand both killers down a survivor and hook them both in short succession before any gens pop, gen repair speed will speed up. Edit: Ok, made it to the part of the video where Tru3 realized the anti-snowball tug of war goes both ways.
These are some of the WORST game developers ever. 2v8 was fun because you could chase, kick, and chase again. And as survivor often times pressure was always split so you weren't always a target. Now those downs can be saved against, and since gens can go faster it's bad to hook a bunch of people, WHICH MEANS KILLERS WILL TUNNEL AGAIN. Also if they have the audacity to make rebuilding pallets a perk for 1v4, I will quit this game. Not joking, not an empty threat, there are pallets that have no counterplay, bringing them back ruins killer on maps.
Unless they change how the cages spawn, yeah the tunneling is gonna become more problematic. If the killer is a duo then one can be in charge of the tunneling and the other in charge of gen patrol
TrU3 people weren’t only playing killer because of no MMR and more chases. People were playing killer so much because they can finally play with a friend. None of my friends are killer mains what so ever but during 2v8 that changed really quick.
I think you underestimate how much playing with someone else actually matters, its inarguably the biggest point for 2v8 killer. My friend, who is exclusively a survivor main, almost never players killer even solo, wanted to play Huntress with me as trapper. She probably played more killer that week we played than I ever seen her play in an entire year of DBD. I am not joking. She literally never plays killer. She didnt care about having more chases. The lack of mmr system def played into it, more fun means less stress. Another player means less stress as killer. Thats a big pain point I see from some casual players, rhey hate killer because its very stressful and difficult. 2v8 alleviates that (I had to gen watch like an absolute maniac when playing with her LUL)
He definitely isn't underestimating team play. It's just these changes do not make your time as killer on this mode, more fun. It make sit less fun. This impacts even the players who want to play killer that never would have before. Now you can be pallet/flashlight stunned.... thats a huge fear for newer players once they experience it. In a 1v4, now its really a 1v8 in those situations it would be so easy to flashlight blind or stun. Aside from killers builds which aren't disclosed atm to their full implications survivor builds especially the inst heal and pallet rebuild that is going to negatively impact your gameplay with her.
You also mentioned, that you had to be the gen kicker because she wasn't really doing it, why? Because she was going for chases, hunting people, looking for them. That's what makes killer fun. Hell if they removed gen kicking altogether it wouldn't impact the fun directly, only by extension due to lack of time to actually chase people. Whole point is, chases are fun, that is what makes killer fun. Everyone likes going for chases. Or want to be chased. Gens are not fun never ever were they ever. So she was going for chases even if she wasn't 'meta gaming' or realizing it. That's why she had fun, no stress just chasing. Now as I said before, that experience will be negatively impacted for no reason other than to make playing killer, the mode she and you enjoyed together less fun in attempt to fix queues.

For your fear of the rebuilding pallet animation, that's just the animation from the Halloween events when you had to get juice from the Pus Plants around the map. It's a generic stand-in. I think it'll be fine and that they won't feel the need to make a perk from it

in a sense they are giving survivor a "power" just like how each killer has their own unique power (Blight rush, Nurse Blink, Billy chainsaw). why not just let them fly over the mape edge wall and escape instantly? pretty soon survivors will be able to put killer on hook.

@@aidanspradley9533 so here my hot-take, This mode will be Survivor favored OR killer favored by how long or how short cooldown is for ultimate ability. If you make cooldown short, like 60 seconds than survivor will be busted and imbalanced because you actively will be punished for anything you do as killer. If you make cooldown long like 90s than Slugging will be strong and allow killer to win.
The catchup stuff is so stupid as it can get abused, survivors can just leave gens at 99% to not lose the stack and killers will try to slug as long as possible to not give out the gen speed up.
If you can REALLY feel that gen buff/debuff then what if killers decide to never hook and aim for bleed out since gen speed would drop so low it could be viable playstyle.
Devs are so clueless about the game, it's a miracle the game is still running after all these years.
That can be fixed by making the gen slowdown from progress rather than completion, and the speed up from downs rather than hooks, but... fuck catch up mechanics. I'm sure most of us don't want them.

They just keep giving survivors stuff for free. Survivors already require a lot less skill than killer, and they keep rewarding bad survivors. What makes it unfun most of the times is that they keep giving survivors free agency with little drawbacks and little to no skill required. I wouldnt mind getting outplayed if it actually required some skill for them to do anything. And we keep seeing survivor players being the most toxic players comparatively, and the biggest users of cheats, even tho the game already gives them free agency.
Yep I’ve encountered 2 killers that were cheating and at least 25 cheating survivors. Noted that I only have 1.5k hours so far.

More and more developers across all gaming genres want everyone to feel good and have participation trophies even if they are getting outplayed or are not fundamentally good at the game they are playing. Its getting pretty annoying.
It's not just in games, it's across the board with everything. Schooling practices, parenting practices, punishing successful people harder because the governments don't want you successful, they want to maintain full control over you.

They have created a game where 1 player plays vs 4. Of course they will turn it in a direction where 4 players (what are 80% of the players in a match) are happy with the endresult.
And they even managed to give this side the feeling that killer is still to strong and survivor needs more buffs.... its absolutly insane.
Now in 2 vs 8 of course they will make just "lil" changes like turning up gen speed if to many survivors are hooked, cause now you even have 2 killers...they need to feed the people.

I'm at 11:15 and my interest in the revamped mode is already at zero. Killer is gonna be borderline impossible to win unless half of the Survivor team are complete potato and Survivor is gonna be a pain because they added Blight and Spirit alongside Nurse, so what are Killers gonna do? You will see teams of Huntress/Nurse/Blight/Spirit every single game (Huntress mostly because her aura reveal passives helps all of the strong chasers who will do the heavy lifting), it's only natural. Why would you play Trapper or Wraith when Spirit or Blight are available, it's a no-brainer really. Yeah... I will probably speedrun the event tome if there is one and that's that. Then again... 1v4 is gonna be rough as well because of split queues so you're gonna have to wait for 10+ minutes to get into normal Killer matches as well... sigh. Why BHVR, just... why?

So many comments i see are going "oh i will just play 1v4 then" because simply making the killer side suffer (again) is not going to magicly make the survivor side more appealing. Escapes were so mutch easyer alredy in 2v8 and yet still the survivor side is even more boring over there because you dont have your perk builds and items. And the fact that litteraly 1 role is superior to the other 3, who are 2 of them medicore and the scout is simply useless.

The Killer cue time was horrendous last time round, waited an average of 20 - 30 minutes just to get into a lobby with my mate. I almost fell asleep a few dozen times because of the waiting time. The worst lobby waiting times was about 50 minutes, that was infuriating and to make matters worse the stupid lobby shat itself as soon as I got into the round.

I genuinely don't understand why they are rewarding survivors for making mistakes. If you mess up and go down that is supposed to be pressure for the killers. Not free gen pressure for your team because you got downed in 10 seconds. And you know survivors will be throwing themselves at the killers to purposefully get downed so when they get hooked the other survivors can slam the gens. Meaning killers will just slug. Are these devs really this incompetent?

For me the greatest thing about the 2v8 mode as a Killer was the fast pace and chase focused gameplay. Downing a Survivor and just sending them to a cage in 1s to continue the action. What did they do? Killers now have to pickup wasting more time and even worse: care about 7 Survs that could potentially Pallet/Flashlight save.
The gen speed will allow survivors to just pump all the gens to 99% super fast and just not pop them

All EA sports games have or had that catchup mechanic in them. I used to play the NHL games throughout the 2000s and it was hilariously goofy at times. Why they'd even apply this against the CPU is weird. You'd be winning a game by like 2 goals and when you get to 3 minutes left all of a sudden the CPU becomes like 20 times as effective at everything they do.

Finding survivors fast was abselutly a part of the fun for me, it was fast action
I've been asking for a pallet rebuilding perk for years. You would have to collect the pieces from 2 broken pallets to be able to make a new one, you can place them where other pallets spawn but you can't take parts from the same pallet or the ones you make, the pallets would stun for less time and and break faster but if you get a stun on the killer it would stun for half the time and break on impact considering its makeshift.
There wouldn't be a point to running the perk then because you waste time getting the pieces just for a killer with resilience or brutal strength to just walk threw it like it's nothing as cool as a perk like that would be it'll put your team behind (solo player perspective)

One modification to that idea is it takes 3 pieces to repair a pallet and one is always at a pallet that is broken when the perk is enabled. That would avoid the coding complication it would be to know what piece can and cannot be used where.

In my experience with 2v8, killers could only really win (like 6k+) IF they did well right from the start and kept up the momentum all throughout. The anti-snowball mechanic punished them a lot more, especially with the addition of flashlight saves.

So the point of this was to have a more of an interesting experience as survivor which would aim for more people playing it and would help the Que times a lot.
The slugging thing did happen since there was more chances to slug objectively, but I wish they made a hook optional with built in fire up.
The flashing light thing, idk why they’re adding it because wouldn’t that encourage killers to slug more often? Can’t use light more and people will prolly save pallets as well to get a pallet save which is backwards and the only change that i see becoming a problem.

i think its a good thing to add pick ups for the reason that it made flashlights very useless, pallet stuns also useless, the anti slug is was very much needed, i think they should also add a choose 1 or 2 system where if the killers cant decide between who gets what loadout then when the game will give one player that and the player who didnt will get the second class they would prefer, how they could fix this mode i reckon is just remove gens, the chase is what people enjoy most is it not, make 2v8 not about gens make it about surviving for a certain amount of time, its really that simple the main problem with dbd has always been gens (there the main objective for both sides really as yes while the job for killer is to kill survivors they need to protect gens in order to stop them from leaving which results in killer and survivor gen perks which infuriate people)

I really do believe behavior would benefit if they did small changes and adjustments more often than just doing a whole lot. Only change which im somehwat okay with is the unbreakable base since its ti some extent to counteract the slugging issue but, making it able to rebuild pallets and having killers waste time to pick up a survivor and then teleport/hook seems kinda pointless sinxe itll just incentivize slugging so i dont get that logic? I dont like the flashlight save opportunity to be back in at all. Im kinda hit or miss with the catch up system but its usually to balance the fun aspect in a way so one side doesnt feel like they are getting demolished, especially if they start playing better as the game goes on
It sounds to me like a tug of war of sorts to stop snowballs on both sides. If like 3 gens pop in short succession with no hooks, gen repair speed will slow down a good bit. If on the other hand both killers down a survivor and hook them both in short succession before any gens pop, gen repair speed will speed up.
Edit: Ok, made it to the part of the video where Tru3 realized the anti-snowball tug of war goes both ways.
The issue come from the fact you will and need to hook way more than you need to do gens. It like what. 8 gens vs 24 hooks
These are some of the WORST game developers ever. 2v8 was fun because you could chase, kick, and chase again. And as survivor often times pressure was always split so you weren't always a target. Now those downs can be saved against, and since gens can go faster it's bad to hook a bunch of people, WHICH MEANS KILLERS WILL TUNNEL AGAIN.
Also if they have the audacity to make rebuilding pallets a perk for 1v4, I will quit this game. Not joking, not an empty threat, there are pallets that have no counterplay, bringing them back ruins killer on maps.
Unless they change how the cages spawn, yeah the tunneling is gonna become more problematic. If the killer is a duo then one can be in charge of the tunneling and the other in charge of gen patrol
TrU3 people weren’t only playing killer because of no MMR and more chases. People were playing killer so much because they can finally play with a friend. None of my friends are killer mains what so ever but during 2v8 that changed really quick.

I think you underestimate how much playing with someone else actually matters, its inarguably the biggest point for 2v8 killer. My friend, who is exclusively a survivor main, almost never players killer even solo, wanted to play Huntress with me as trapper. She probably played more killer that week we played than I ever seen her play in an entire year of DBD. I am not joking. She literally never plays killer. She didnt care about having more chases.
The lack of mmr system def played into it, more fun means less stress. Another player means less stress as killer. Thats a big pain point I see from some casual players, rhey hate killer because its very stressful and difficult. 2v8 alleviates that (I had to gen watch like an absolute maniac when playing with her LUL)
He definitely isn't underestimating team play. It's just these changes do not make your time as killer on this mode, more fun. It make sit less fun.
This impacts even the players who want to play killer that never would have before. Now you can be pallet/flashlight stunned.... thats a huge fear for newer players once they experience it. In a 1v4, now its really a 1v8 in those situations it would be so easy to flashlight blind or stun.
Aside from killers builds which aren't disclosed atm to their full implications survivor builds especially the inst heal and pallet rebuild that is going to negatively impact your gameplay with her.
You also mentioned, that you had to be the gen kicker because she wasn't really doing it, why? Because she was going for chases, hunting people, looking for them. That's what makes killer fun. Hell if they removed gen kicking altogether it wouldn't impact the fun directly, only by extension due to lack of time to actually chase people.
Whole point is, chases are fun, that is what makes killer fun. Everyone likes going for chases. Or want to be chased. Gens are not fun never ever were they ever. So she was going for chases even if she wasn't 'meta gaming' or realizing it. That's why she had fun, no stress just chasing. Now as I said before, that experience will be negatively impacted for no reason other than to make playing killer, the mode she and you enjoyed together less fun in attempt to fix queues.
