This is normal and not a sign of a faulty oven.” Always, always read your manual and don’t ever think that you need to follow RUclips videos instead of the actual manual.

How do you get the steam bar to lock in place? Mine is still loose. I have spent over two hours trying to lock it in, several times having to dig it out after falling into crevice. I can place in but still moves left to right. Is that ok? Thanks.

Our family is so busy so hello fresh eventually quit working for us bc usually there is always one or two of us not there at the same time so this has been wonderful for our family we can all make our dinner whenever we are home to eat it and my teens love scanning it lol 13 weeks strong for us with tovala and we love it!!!

Hey! Love your videos and love my Tovala. But you left out the final step of setup where you are supposed to run the oven once, at 450 for 20 minutes, before cooking anything in it. This is to clean any residuals that were left in manufacturing of the oven. Thanks.
Haha, great question! I thought I would end up taking one to the office and leaving one at home. However... I ended up keeping both of them next to each other. Worked out great actually. I can prep roasted broccoli while warming up some pizza or random other combinations of food!
I picked one up after my 18-month old (at the time) destroyed our old toaster oven by keeping a plastic pen hidden in it, lol. Best decision ever. Love the Tovala. Thanks for the compliments on the editing, the praise for that goes straight to my team!
When adding water to the reservoir the plastic ring around the water bottle fell into the reservoir. Afraid could damage the over, cause a fire, or leak plastic into my food. Thanks!

Question - When cooking two meals at once, does the oven know that there are two portions and self adjust, or is this something you have to do when setting up your meal?
Nope. This is one of the dumbest things I've seen. Dude is paying 12 bucks for chicken brrast and potatoes. Some broccoli? Steak is 17? For a 6 ounce petite sirloin?? Here is the worst part....it doesn't cook it right! No Sautee. No chance for nice bark. No chance for even protein, as bottom and top are cooked different.
Jack that’s a great question! The answer is yes anything you can otherwise cook in the oven, a toaster oven, or even a steamer type of oven, you can cook in a tovala. The only thing it’s not, is a microwave. In addition to that the Tovala comes pre-programmed to be able to scan over 600 off-the-shelf boxed foods and prepare it based on the recipe that the box suggests. I’m actually going to put this on the list to do as a follow up video in the next few weeks. I’m going to pick some of my favorite and some of the most popular foods that are programmed into tovala system, buy them and make a video of us prepping them and taste testing! I actually unboxed mine before I watched your video - I had to laugh to myself because I did everything that you did by dumping the oven upside down to get it out of the box and styrofoam etc. I am excited to try it out tonight. I did order those Beef bulgogi tacos - I think they are on the menu in a couple weeks.
I think that was very informative. In fact, I wish I had taken a look at that video when I got my own Tovala. But there is one area where you are mistaken. When you scan a recipe, or hit the cook button after pulling up a meal in the app, none of that knowledge is actually built into the oven. What it does instead is use that barcode to pull up the instructions for that particular meal from a database that the chefs keep maintained at all times. In fact, one of the support people told me that the programming only lasts for the duration of the meal, and it gets deleted there after. Also, when you scan something, you have 15 minutes to press the start button, or it goes away. Also taken mind the safety features. What made me feel right at home is that there is very little chance of someone accidentally turning on the oven remotely, because you have to actually be there to press the start button on the oven itself. There is no start button within the app. So I would argue that it’s also one of the safest ovens around.

Where does this vent the heat from? My current oven vents out the top of the door and it sucks.
Can you microwave anything in it? It says it reheats, but what about warming up water in a cup like a regular microwave?

I always have to put in the info manually, does it have to be connected to the wifi for the scan feature to work?

My understanding is that you can only cook two of the same meals at the same time. Not two different meals.

The quick start instructions say the word steamer should face you. Just drop it in the back inside the oven.
I'm having trouble inserting that steamer cover also. I don't think it's very clear
