- The Tovala is a big investment for a small kitchen appliance! Is it worth the money?
While I wouldn’t recommend it for a big family (4 people at most)- it’s become an appliance we use regularly for meal plans- even without the meal kit.

I have had my tovola for a week and LOVE it, LOVE the food. Even though it is a little on the pricy side, I'm single and I don't like to cook or even think about what I am going to have to take to work. What I do is cook for the two days I'm off of work and put the meals together with some veggies in a glass container that I can take to work and put in the microwave. Works perfectly for me and hopefully I can lose weight too. FYI... The steak cooks a little more done than I like.

Great review!! Thank you for sharing your 6 month experience. I’m almost at 5 months, 5 meal boxes purchased and everything you mentioned is so on point. I love the oven, but will be cancelling my 4 meal subscription after my 6th box. I’m a single gal and I agree, love the convenience and the quality of the food but you’re right, $12.00 (plus S&H) for a protein and a side dish is pricey. The food is good, but I can replicate most of those meals myself for less than 12 bucks. I’m also very hyper-focused on the environment and recycling, and I hate all the packaging that is involved with shipping these 4 small meals in this box. So much packaging to dispose of. But ❤️ the oven - give it a big 👍

This video was a game-changer for me I was on the fence to order this until I seen this video thank you so much you're amazing. I am a single person and sometimes don't even want to cook for myself this is going to change my life
Thank you this was a great review! I have owned one for two years and use it almost every day. We usually cook our own food in it like Salmon I buy at Costco but do supplement from time to time with the meal kits. Even after cooking with it for two years I learned something new from your review so thanks!

I love the oven. We have used it every single day since we got it. 2 person household. The food is tasty but I agree, too pricy for the size. Waaaay too much packaging. We got that deal where the oven was 99.00 with six weeks of meals. We are getting 6 meals a week. Gonna cut that right off after our intro period. Will probably still get a couple a week. I also was very disappointed with the lack of grocery items that actually scan. Hopefully they work on that!
Try Trader Joe's frozen meals
Also I did the same deal it over a certain time period and you can do 2 a month and satisfy the discount for future reference

We just purchased the Tovala oven and tried cooking our own meal as I haven't received any of their meals yet. I'm also hyper focused on environment and don't use aluminum foil so I'm not going to. I'll probably cook the meals in different cooking dishes. I saw that you used parchment paper so I'm super happy I can continue to use same. The small meals sound perfect for how I eat so other than it being pricey like you mentioned, I'll complete what I agreed to do then probably just use it as a regular toaster convection oven. Love the video! Very comprehensive and fair. Have you found any meal delivery service that works with the oven as well as their own meals?
We have loved doing the Home Chef Oven Ready meals in the Tovala! They work great and the portions are a bit bigger.

I completely concur with your assessment of the smart oven. I don’t yet have any of their meals, but I did cook some beef and cheese taquitos in it, and they turned out just about perfect. It might have also been worth your while to discuss how easy or difficult it is to clean. And if something doesn’t scan, try scanning with the door open if you haven’t done so. Because I understand that when you open the door, a light comes on. But of course I wouldn’t know this, because I happen to be blind.
Very good info. With hello fresh we would buy extra protein to add to our meals. Could you do that with Tovalas meals delivery?
They don't offer an extra protein option but you could always supplement with a service like Butcher Box.
What are you using under the food? Is it parchment paper? How does that keep from burning?
The price of the meals is compared to takeout. I don't want to cook. I like the calorie choices.
I like what you are describing what it can do, but it still sounds complicated. I already know I'll end up waiting forever until I begin using it, but I really want to try it.
So easy. Not complicated. Love the food. Tender meat. Shrimp is tender.
When adding water to the reservoir the plastic ring around the water bottle fell into the reservoir. Afraid could damage the oven, cause a fire, or leak plastic into my food. Thanks!
Can you microwave anything in it? It says it reheats, but what about warming up water in a cup like a regular microwave?
Honest review! Small meals and many grocery items don't scan. I think I'll pass.

I really want to order this oven for my husband and I, but I am afraid to give my bank info/card# until I have more info .....hopefully someone can answer this question. I can purchase the oven right now for $49.99 with the commitment to purchase meals 6 times within 6 months. After that, if we want to cancel can we do that with no penalty? In other words, will the oven be ours, free and clear, after that or will they charge us or penalize us in any way? Also, if we want a meal for each of us 5 days per week is there an option for the same meal for two? Or do you just order 10 meals each week? I mean would I have to order the same meal x 2 5 times per week if we want to have the same meal? thanks in advance for any answers and advice.

Of all the meal preps/kits out there, which one do you recommend?
While I haven't tried them all, our household of 2 likes Home Chef the best. Their oven ready meals are super simple on busy week nights.
So if you have a family of 4 are you cooking each meal separately? So the first 2 meals are cold by the time you're ready to serve the whole family?
You can cook 2 at a time. I really think meant for smaller households.

I did not delete your comment. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking, but the recipes can be saved in the app for re-use.
12 dollar chicken breasts doesnt seem like a good deal when 3 at the grocery store cost less than 6 dollars
