I liked how you showed the way you have to calculate over the board with the arrows. It helps put into perspective the craziness that goes into playing chess at a high level.
For the allergy thing, there’s other allergens in the environment that are specific for you. I’d recommend getting a allergy test done if you really want to know what it is. Different regions have different tests for their most common allergens. So if you travel to different areas there’s not much of a point, I’d mainly do it for your home city and if you’re suffering from allergies there.
I can't imagine how tough the tournament is going and how you feel but wanted to let you know I'm really happy and hyped when another one of these videos comes out. Thank you and keep it up!
Levy's ability to keep us on the edge of our seats throughout the whole recap is second to none. I had no idea whether he won or not until minute 22, despite all the hints up to that point. Amazing storyteller!
Hi Levy, one of the best feeling being a fan of yours is seeing in your face the serenity of a smile after a win. I think you should keep that smile even after a loss because that’s the best antidote.
Levy, please consider seeing a sports psychologist. That along with training with a coach will get you where you want. It seems that all of your problems stem from negative self talk. You are an incredible chess player and even better RUclipsr. You can do anything that you set your mind to.
It wasn't a drawish position lol. He played a good endgame, but there were always a lot of imbalances, tons of pawns etc. Magnus literally squeezes water out of stone
question for anyone advanced to explain: at 19:57 levy doesnt take b6 with the knight because of bishop e2, but why isnt Nd7+ a good option here? Ke8 and Kg8 are bad moves because you can just check and push your pawn, so the only move is Ke7, but then you would go Nf6 to take the h7 pawn after bishop takes your b5 pawn.
As far as I know, main allergies come with secondary ones. Like, you're allergic to a specific kind of pollen, you may be sensitive to, say, dust, mold, and in your case, bad chess. Good luck with your allergies and with your chess!

Your energetic way of recounting what happened and your analogies, your pacing, its all on point. We can really tell you are passionate about what you do. Random idea. It would be cool if Stockfish gave a relative value to each piece. Like if you ever played a tactical RPG it would have a little number next to the piece. A good pawn might be worth 1.3 a bad bishop might be worth 2.3. It would be good insight. When you make a piece trade you could see if it was bad or good after the game is over in the evaluation.

One of the reasons I love chess is because of people like Levy and Antonio. Most of us don't understand the deep lines of chess, most of us are just noobs rated 800-1000. But the way they present chess just excites many of us to follow the games and learn more from them. I don't think I would have been connected to the game as much as I am if it wasn't for Gotham Chess and Agadmator. I don't think Levy will see this comment but if he does then I just have to say man you are doing an amazing job bringing the game of chess to all of us. Wish you all the best with what you do going forward. You rock man. Thanks for making me love this amazing game.
Levys only chess player ive seen that can simultaneously dominate a whole half of a game game against very strong players just to think he threw after 25 moves and psych himself into actually throwing
I truly love your content and I'd also love to see you shine again in competition. I'm a competitive archer and, even if it doesn't seem, our disciplines could be mentally very similar. I'm writing you to give some advice on the way you approach a position (even in training), a crucial game, or a competition. You are committing a lot of mental errors during the process. Maybe, you're not gonna believe me, but please, try to do it, because I know you're a clever guy. The mind does not differentiate between something vividly imagined and something that actually happened. Every time you say something bad, your mind recepts and accepts it. Every time you say (and I've heard you say it a lot) "Oh, I'd never find that move" or "Here we are, I'm in a winning position against a GM, now I'm going to screw it up! " or "You know guys, every time I approach this kind of opponent I start panicking" your subconscious start to build this self-image of yourself, and every time you will find yourself in that situation, your mind will make you feel in the same mental state (panicking, anxiety ... etc). But you can control it! You can change the way you feel! But, in order to do that, you need to start changing the way you think. Not "Oh...I'd never find that move" but "Oh...ok, now I see it! Now I know it! And now I'll find this kind of move on the board". Most of the time you lose your focus from the board and you start thinking about something else, and this is the same thing that also occurs in archery and leads to a bad shot. In archery, we need to stay focused on our execution, and not on the score, on the opponent, or on the people around us. And it is the same thing also for you. You must stay focused on the board and change the way you feel in that situation. But in order to do that, you must change the way you think. It will mindblowing you what your mind can do if you're able to redirect it in the correct way. Simple, but effective example: Close your eyes and vividly imagine yourself in an on-the-board tournament. It is a GM-norm tournament and you have to win the last game. You are in a big room, sitting on a not-so-comfortable chair, everyone around playing, but some people are looking at you. You are against Caruana and you are in a winning middle-game position. You have to move and you have a 2 min time disadvantage. Now you have to convert the position and win it. Now I KNOW FOR SURE that the first thing that will come to your mind is something like "I'll not win this", "Now I'm going to screw something up", "If not now, I'll make a bad move", "Oh...how many people around here, I do not have to do something stupid", "OMG, I'm beating Caruana" (and probably you will start feeling this anxiety...ecc). Now tell me, if you think in that way, HOW can your mind find a good move? If you are saying to your mind that you are stupid and that you are going to do something bad, what do you think your mind will do next? Of course, you'll make a bad move. But you can control it. You can imagine the same situation and think that now you are calm, you are only focusing on your next move and nothing else. And you can do this over and over and over and over. And slowly but surely [cit.] you will start to feel the same way also in a real-life situation. I CAN GUARANTEE YOU!! I'm not a mental coach, but I'm an 18 years competitive archer and our sport is 80% mental. I'd like to recommend you a book that will change the way you will approach every game (and life itself). "With winning in mind - Lanny R. Bassham". Thanks for reading all of this, and now...get out of here!!

I completely get this allergies paradox that one day is all good and the other one is pandemonium. I usually associate it with windy weather but I also agree with someone else’s point about cross-allergies and how different allergies stack on top of each other.
This man work really hard and people like just comment hate on his game and I really don't know how he manages that and can play chess. Hats off to you
I have allergies, but really weak ones. Also my allergies are mostly against plants that aren't natural, I don't get allergies when in nature, only when in cities and around well-maintained gardens. But still, they are very mild and all I get is a feeling that something's in my eye and a handful of sneezes a day. So yes, allergies against certain pollen are definitely a thing.

I adore these videos because Levy makes it so fun to watch chess even though I probably couldn't set the pieces up correctly on a real board
But.. I started thinking
Levys only chess player ive seen that can simultaneously dominate a whole half of a game game against very strong players just to think he threw after 25 moves and psych himself into actually throwing
"Just play the best move and shut up"

Levy you always have big ups and downs in your tournaments and you proved that you can play wonderful chess, all you have to do is litreally don't care, just like hikaru having a mindset of not winning but just going for good chess would help u lots, congrats and good luck!
I get why gm's simplify so readily, except Hikaru, he relishes complex. Hang in there Levy.
If you hear that Levy is 3.5/7 in maybe you'd think that he's taking a lot of draws and stuff, but no, the legend has had only a single draw.
12:56 Levy becoming hikaru
Just an idea, at 16:20, I believe he was attempting to prevent a possible Nc5 Rxc5 Rxd7+. Just a thought.
Levy congratulation on your winning man what an emotional rollercoaster that game were, I hope you stay strong and never giveup.
I completely get this allergies paradox that one day is all good and the other one is pandemonium. I usually associate it with windy weather but I also agree with someone else’s point about cross-allergies and how different allergies stack on top of each other.
i love these recaps. Keep up the good work levy!
This man work really hard and people like just comment hate on his game and I really don't know how he manages that and can play chess.
Hats off to you
the tournament already finished and i am proud of levy with his 4.5 points and tani with 7 points and no loses.
Playing bongcloud chess against levy is on my bucket list
This is such a good game this is why I love chess
"alergic to my own chess" my hero
2:25 Gus from Breaking BAD??
Congrats on getting back to 500. I can tell it has been a tough one for you. Keep trucking dude. You got this.
Levy yesterday: Wins a game with relative ease. Nobody watches video.
Levy today: Loses a game spectacularly. Everybody watches video.
Levy tomorrow: Hmmm... I think I've found my niche market.
One year later... Levy stripped of IM title. Cries all the way to the bank.
I literally need no Netflix as long as Levy is posting those recaps. I am just sitting here, eyes in the monitor, cheering for him to win with all my life LOL
8:56 *I looked so deep into the future* needs to become a meme!
