Update: I now take out the inserts BEFORE putting them in the wet bag so I can just dump them all in the washer, and don’t have to deal with the diapers after they’ve been sitting for a few days. Additionally, I found washing the diapers on HOT removes some of the added grime/etc and they smell better. Good luck cloth diapering!
My son grew up on cloth diapers. The regular diapers were way too expensive back in my country 30 years ago. We used them only on special occasions like doctor visit or travel.
First time mom here and 2 weeks away from my due date and I can’t wait to start my cloth diaper journey. Thanks for the encouraging video! -Danielle from ohio
Breastfed babies have water soluble poops we don't have to do anything special. When they start solids you spray it off or dump it in the Toilet. My little one has Sensitive skin so I have to use triple paste in almost every change when we use that on his bum we need to use a diaper liner to protect the cloth diaper or eventually it won't absorb because of the baby rash paste. I'm cheap so I just use 2 viva Select a size paper towels instead of buying diaper liners. If you use liners clean up is easier
My mom raised me on cloth diapers back when I was a baby in 93’. I hope to continue the sustainable tradition with my kids, if God wills I am blessed with them. Cloth pads are also great. My mom used a service to clean them so that might be an option for some people who don’t have regular access to a washer and dryer or they just want to save time.
This is amazing and so sustainable! 🙌🏾🙌🏾Does the bag that you put the dirty diapers in tend to smell, or is there a way you all prevent it from having a strong odor?
I have a pretty good sense of smell and I don’t notice it until like day 4 of a full bag - which is weird it doesn’t smell that bad!? there might be bags that hold in the smells better so I might buy one of those eventually :)
Hi fellow momma! I am currently almost a month away from my due date! As the day is approaching fast I wanna make sure I have all my checklists completed. One thing I wanted to do was cloth diapering as well! Many think I’m crazy, but I know it will benefit me so much in the long run. At what age do you recommend starting cloth diapering?? I know many say wait until the newborn poo has ran its course since it tends to stick and ruin cloth diapers. What is your recommendation? Loved this video by the way! Very straight to the point and easy to follow☺️
Hi! Congrats on your baby that is sooo exciting. I thought the same thing - I wanted to not put the pressure on myself right away with a newborn. I would say wait until you aren’t sleep deprived anymore 😅 and have got into a rhythm. For us, this was when my baby turned 2 months. Honestly, I thought it would take us longer but it’s different for everyone. TMI but his poops are still super runny but I haven’t noticed them ruining the diapers, they wash out just fine. Hope this helps!:)
Love this. Great video mama. We have a mix of noras and bum genius. And do cloth wipes. Have you tried taking the insert out when you’re done changing the diaper before you put it in the wet bag? It saves me the stinky job of pulling them all out later once they’ve been sitting in their own juices. Lol And you can just dump the whole thing in without touching anything. Game changer for me. This is my 3rd boy. We clothed the middle boy and this baby now too. Cloth is the best. I love the name Zion as well. Our baby is named Shepherd Zion. ♥️
Thank you! Zion, such astrong name. Hope the insert pulling out tip helps. I didn’t think to do that when we had our 2nd son. But have done so with our newest 3rd boy. And it is amazing. Love your channel btw. I also love your your style in your home and your clothing. ♥️

Love that this video wasn't a half hour long😂 short and to the point
Yes! When I was first searching I spent uneccesary hours watching moms explain all the details 😂 This was great.
Ohhh damn . So true ❤

…how can you be so freaking cute whilst discussing poopy diapers….so glad you chose the sustainable/natural option for your family…huge congrats 🤍
Would love to see an updated “how-to” once you figure out the routine after he’s on solid foods.
Unless you plan on starting EC before then.
I love this channel wished your videos were longer and you posted more frequently.
She's a first time mom with a brand new baby, baby is first priority 💛

That’s awesome Danielle! Praying for a good and healthy labor and delivery 🤍
Good for you! I used cloth diapers years ago and everyone thought I was nuts. But it worked for me! 💗
Kudos to you 👏🏼
With my second baby I’m starting the cloth diaper journey 🎉 thank you for this easygoing video!
WOW! Never tried those.
So you put the poopy diaper in the machine? How do you clean the machine? Isn't there any build up or smell in the machine?
Same question ❓

Oh also - I do use disposables when we go out just because I don’t wanna deal with carrying a dirty diaper all over lol.
How did it go? I use these cheapies on my daughter and they work well
Why is this the video I’m watching at 12:48 am when I can’t sleep over a cigarette I don’t even have kids

I have not tried that! That is very smart haha. I will try it :) P.S. Love your sons name!

Thanks for this. I also bought some cloth wipes (reusable) to save even more $$.
I’ve been doing this exactly for 2 months and am starting to get some mood spots!!! Have you dealt with this?????
How many diaper should we have ? My baby is 3 months old
Even though I’m exclusively breastfeeding, I’m still having yellow stains linger around on my cloth diapers.. is this normal?
Nice sharing ❤️
thx!
How does 21 clothes diaper enough for a week??
My mom used cloth diapers on me in the 80s 👍
Cloth diapers are so expensive though. I think I’ll start saving now before I have a baby lol
Haha. Yeah. For 7 they are about $65. But I spent $80 in one month for disposables 😳 so it’s worth it in the long run
