just got my diapers delivered and trying to get a wash routine in place before baby is here (hopefully soon, i'm overdue lol) but i'm wondering how much detergent to use? some resources say to follow what's on the packaging of my detergent. is this what you recommend? thank you!
You want to follow the rinsing/washing recommendations from this video, and make sure you are washing your diapers/inserts every 2-3 days, but yes, when using reusable cloth diapers, both the diaper, and the inserts are reusable!
Hello, thank you for your question. We recommend a water temperature of 95F for regular routine washes. For heavy soiled cloth diapers, we recommend a temperature of nothing higher than 115F. Extremely high temperatures can cause damage to the TPU (water proof) layer on the diapers, affecting absorbency.
I have tide with acti lift that’s the only thing available right now for me it has a brightener in it is it safe? It’s the best thing for my budget right now for my diapers
From what I have read, if your baby is exclusively breastfed there is no need to rinse the diaper at all. It can be thrown straight into the wash no problem. Anything besides that- whether formula fed or a toddler transitioned to solid foods, may need to have their diaper rinsed before being put in the wash. Hope this helps!
This is an initial step that should be taken to rinse away any natural oils found on fabrics. Prepping cloth diapers also opens up fibres to ensure adequate absorbency. It only needs to be done once and can be done with other laundry.

We remove the inserts from the shell and wash them altogether

So when you say ‘rinse solids’, you mean when the baby starts eating solid food? Not new born poop, correct?
