He's right, you don't need it. Most people are more willing to buy a smartphone even for $1000 but to buy that camera setup you buy the cam body plus all three lenses and the card to save to.
so I've been a photographer for around 5 years now and started out with a canon t3i. Switched to a EOS R after a while and one of my main takeaways from working with both is definitely the ISO setting and in general the amount of data my EOS R was able to capture. Just like your example I've upgraded to the Iphone 11pro max and have to agree that phone cameras are getting better and better. But by the end of the day it isn't so much about what quality, both of the devices can produce quality shots, its more about how much skill and personal preference goes into every single shot. A pro photographer (someone who does it as his or her job) would produce almost identical photos if given the right lighting and location. I definitely think that cameras itself are going to be more superior especially towards product photography and based on how large your pixel count needs to be in the end but it's always a fun experiment. Thanks Peter for a good comparison video and keep up the amazing photos and content.

But don't you hate it when people brag to you about the pictures they take and also insult the medium ( I use film) because they can get the same pictures using their phones. It's irritating to a point
Yeah, I had someone at my job show me some pictures they took on their phone and the fake bokeh effect also blurred out half his kids face, while random objects in the background was tack sharp. He didn't notice himself and claimed it was just like a professional camera. I didn't say anything.

I feel like many people don't appreciate the amount of ingenuity and engineering development that went into smart phone cameras. Sure, having 4 different lens look ridiculous but it's an incredible piece of technology when done right.
I guessed them all right! I'm a self-taught photographer, but I'm not that dumb to be fooled by a smartphone, S10 was artificially sharpened and the bokeh wasn't right, it was like super clear and straight into blur, not gradual. Just not real enough for me, though pretty damn good for a phone

I think you've hit on all the main points there, well done. What I'm hearing is that a lot has to do with what is your target media. If its going to be viewed on a 4 to 8 inch screen then a phone is almost always going to get you there as your target audience won't hold you to the finer points of field of view translation or resolution. You want a wall mural or even a large ips panel - pro or semi-pro gear is de rigueur. I like your energy.
got the last one wrong but other than that all correct. once you crop you you see the biggest issues. phones usually oversharpen and only make the images look really good for viewing on phone screens but not big screens or prints. sure, for random snapshots phone cameras are more than enough. phones will still not get the same as a bigger sensor like aps-c, full frame or medium format. phones are for casual people that wants instant gratification for social media shots and dont want to have to learn what actually goes into photography. which personally i loved learning all that stuff and still learn since im fairly new but it gives you such a new perspective on things which makes the world more vivid
I got all of them correct. Also the bokeh balls can be added in post on iPhone using an app called Focos. you can change it to many different lens and process the background and foreground independently
BE HONEST - How'd ya do? Phones are pretty scary good these days!

Fun video!!! Only got 1 out of 3 correct. But after you pointed out strengths and weaknesses of the smartphone, I could see whst you were saying.
1. Correct / 2. Correct / 3. Correct
But only after I failed at all three pictures Gabriel had to guess.
I do care about the camera vs phone photography abilities. But that burger wins this time 🤗
got the last one wrong but other than that all correct. once you crop you you see the biggest issues. phones usually oversharpen and only make the images look really good for viewing on phone screens but not big screens or prints. sure, for random snapshots phone cameras are more than enough. phones will still not get the same as a bigger sensor like aps-c, full frame or medium format. phones are for casual people that wants instant gratification for social media shots and dont want to have to learn what actually goes into photography. which personally i loved learning all that stuff and still learn since im fairly new but it gives you such a new perspective on things which makes the world more vivid
But did you take RAW DNG photos on the phone i think not.
You can......
@@samuelcuevas395 I said ''did'' not ''can'' that is a big difference in wording buddy.
You can only shoot Raw on the medium wide camera, lol. Samsung threats us like children.
Raw is overrated.. jpeg still produces a decent images
at least my Huawei lets me shoot RAW with all 3 lenses lol @@brandonclevert3173
I felt like I was watching Stephen Amell's & Christian Bale's child compare two camera's
It makes me happy to watch your videos. Such great energy!
I only got the last 2 correct. Damn the phone quality is sick
Pls do a comparison between Nokia 9 pure view and 1DX
I got all of them correct. Also the bokeh balls can be added in post on iPhone using an app called Focos. you can change it to many different lens and process the background and foreground independently
I get em all bc I have the s10 plus and that characteristic live focus always gives it away.
Señor Everything y
@@gabrielatataru3423 because the s10+ puts an intense live focus on everything, and it's easy to spot.
