New Yorks cupcake craze has swept the Bronx Zoo-and the gorillas have a major sweet tooth! These tasty enrichment treats help kick off the zoos celebration of the tenth anniversary of Congo Gorilla Forest.

I love how casual the silverback is
Instant favorite. I will go back to this and watch whenever I get sad.. because during the entire minute and a half I had the biggest, cheesiest smile plastered all over my face.
They are incredibly beautiful animals. I want to hug each one of them!

Raised in the Bronx 🙌🏽 I always and I do mean always go visit the Gorillas first since i was a kid. They're my favorite ❤️ God bless you all who take care of the animals 🙏🏽

As a zoo worker who sees gorillas everyday, their possibility of being delicate when they want never ceases to amaze me, specially when it comes from the Silverbacks... 00:34

I've been to the Bronx zoo before. There are two troops. Zuri is the younger silverback, and his fur is more black. He was born at Seatle's Woodland Park Zoo to Pete and Nina. His troop contains his 2 juvenile sons, named Johari and Barraca, 2 sub adult females, named Suki and Sufi, and 3 captive born adult females, named Julia, Holli, and Tuti.
Zuri is often called "Mr. Big", and he is indeed a big boy. He weighs around 450 pounds.
LOL, it's funny to see such a huge, hulking beast like the Silverback just walk up and grab a cupcake.
He's all like : Ooh! Yummy!!
Poor baby gorilla, wanting cupcakes so badly and mommy just snatches all of them

I remember living in the bronx from the mid to late 90's their enclosure was much smaller than this. Glad to see they get a bigger upgrade.

Love you Bronx Zoo....just saw a Gorilla Famila (Male, Mother, Baby) on youtube. Maybe 4 yrs ago. The Male Silver looks Depresed as well the Female. Please find out whats going on with this wonder family . A stong Silver Back Male, a large female and her young one growing up in cement bindings

To all those people that think letting them free is better think again letting them free means letting them be killed for their fur and meat and having them in captivity allows us to study and understand them better zoo we can help save their habitat

That's what I get for donating $50.06 to Wildlife Conservation Society throughout 2018 so far in 34 separate envelopes from Monday, January 1, 2018 to today on Friday, February 9, 2018.
Today is the 50th anniversary of the Endangered Species Act Anniversary!
🦍Gorillas are critically endangered and there are 2 kinds: Eastern and Western.
🦍Gorillas walk on all four hands and feet, weigh about 500 pounds and are apes.
🦍Life Span: 30-40 years.
🦍Gorillas don’t like making eye contact.
🦍They sleep 12 hours at night and the male is “King of the Jungle.”
🦍Gorillas are herbivores and eat mostly plant bamboos and fruits. They will eat insects, termites and ants.
🦍Gorillas are found in Africa, specifically the Congo, Rwanda, Rainforest and even at the Bristol Zoo Gardens in the UK, Zoo Atlanta, the San Francisco Zoo and the Bronx Zoo.
🦍Gorillas are not dangerous animals; however if threatened they will attack.

Who wouldn't love cupcakes. They are not so different from us. And I'm not talking about their 98 % Genetic level to humans. Even though we are 98% Genetically similar. Cool right. We are also 97% similar to humans. We humans are so close to Chimps. We are so much similar to both. Even though We don't look a like they are basically our ancestors from before humans existed.
