This is why I don't base getting a game on reviews, because I really enjoyed this. So, if it's a game that interest you, try it for yourself.
True. Born in 1980, my youth was filled with point and click games. On the Amiga 500, PC, all the way to PS1. From Zack McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders, Beneath a steel sky. To the phenomenal Monkey Island series , Feom Leasure suit Larry to the amazing Broken sword series. Just to name a few. I personally brush over reviews just to gather the basic info and feel of the game. Rating is always personal. Most IGN reviews are influenced anyway. #fax. I love non mainstream games. And original stories. Ooo and what do you know?..$10 AUD here at EBgames!! Winning!
100%. How many times have I seen people just shitting on a game, but in reality they were masterpieces.
Gotta disagree. I played it blind. It's just a lame imitation of all of the things it takes inspiration from. None of the characters were interesting, and the ending was unsatisfying
@@jesse564 At least you gave it a go, and made up your own mind. But, some of the best games I've played I went in blind, and didn't know too much about them.
Why are you here watching this then? Lol. Need validation?
A shame. Visualy it looks stunning.
cogigo Belive it or not. This game just won the „German Video Game Award“ as „Best Game“! What a joke!
@@Ferz2006 Yeah we germans love our Point and Click Adventure.
I've enjoyed the first several hours of it. But maybe I look past it's blemishes due to my love of stopmotion/claymation stuff and point and click adventures.
i hope more games use dioramas.
This is the first video I’ve seen on your channel, and I absolutely love it. I’ll keep coming back for reviews!
Same.
Gorgeous. Worth a buy.
Looks nice, but is in no way worth a buy
Sounds like most point and click puzzle games to be fair. Deffo going to try it out
yeah it's once again an simple example that graphics are not important if the gameplay sucks... too bad cos the artistic direction is really awesome.
I loved Truberbrook!
Feeling so smart by wearing a metal suit of armor to protect myself from electric shock
Just finished the game, and I don't think that this was a fair review. The only thing that I agree with the reviewer is the point and click system, a little buggy, but the other aspect of the game like dialogue and character development are in my opinion pretty good and I've been playing mostly point and click games the last five years. The dialogues are full of information that has to do with the plot and clues for solving puzzles, you have to pay attention to these. If you are a Fortnite head, this game is not for you, if you are interested in time and space travel and a little of Physics talk and Mysteries I strongly recommend this game.
Games similar to this:
Unforseen Incidents
Luminocity
Machinarium
Broken Ages to name a few
Brian Jigins I don’t know if you have or haven’t played this game but just in case i would really recommend “ I HAVE NO MOUTH BIT I MUST SCREAM” it’s sci-fi horror and has a great lore
As a true adventure game fan, this game was not good. It was pretty, it had nice music, but it was an unnecessarily frustrating experience due to bugs and laziness in both puzzle design and interface.
Was he telling it right when he said all the events HAVE TO be done in order? That sounds infuriating. Really want to buy this game but I'm not sure after the review....?
@@collydub1987 I'm not sure what he meant by that. Some interactions are only available once you have the right items. Sometimes having an item also changes a map's characters seemingly at random and changes your possible interactions with them (this is bad). There are some things you will only be able to find with the hint system (also bad).
Other than that, the individual puzzles are mostly solvable in any order you want. They are seperated by chapters though, and in a couple instances, you'll find yourself locked into having to do one specific puzzle. The puzzles are never exactly hard, because once you have the right item, interacting with a character will give you the solution for free. There is no true random or deliberate item combining you have to do that would be akin to other Point & Click adventures.
@@Traivlin cheers!
this game is so good
I had a lot of fun playing
The environment also looks so good
This is a fun change of pace game.
i almost bought it. Thanks for the advice !!😀
Sounds like a talented art & set design team without a good writer to use their work thoughtfully & and to its potential. Or maybe a team that was really far more into the design aspects of video game development than the construction of gameplay mechanics. Either way -- there is obviously some serious talent here. The sets & overall aesthetic of Truberbrook are capitivating -- Its too bad they werent able to devise a more fun way of using them.
Good Review. Thanks!
Damn it adventure game devs! Always with the moon logic puzzles!
I bought the game a few days ago because it was on sale. I can agree with you for the most part. I would say that half of the puzzles are sometimes too easy. The other half is very illogical. Also, the story is very short. In the end I wasn't sure if it was even better because the game was a bit "uninspired". In my eyes, the developers have made too little out of the very beautiful art style.
Jesus.. brutal! GOG giving this away free right now
I wish that you had enabled subtitles.
Thanks. Yep I thoroughly agree. I gave up on even trying and just used a walkthrough 'cause it was so annoying to find stupid illogical items to achieve completely unrelated tasks.
Why do people who hate point and click adventures feel compelled to pitchfork & torch every single new title that's released? It's pathological. I don't see reviewers stage takedowns of other niche genres like sports games. It's like they feel left out of the category of 'adventure' because they hate puzzles, so they want to use their influence to terrorize devs into making only action games. Totally bizarre. Just read the comments. Who stalks a genre they idiosyncratically despise, and makes the extra effort to comment in order to let the world know how much they despise it? It's completely mental.
the game looks fun , Im Enjoying many indie games recently….good alternative from triple A games , cheaper shorter and fun 😊 playing route 96 now , and this Truberbrook are in my future buy list . When I watch reviews , I just looking for the game’s about , the reviewers personal like or dislike for me it’s irrelevant , I decide by my own …what’s good or not in a game for myself .
I played this game on switch and gameplay wise it's even worse than other versions. BUT this is in my opinion the only thing I disliked about the game. It was full of strange quirky characters, really immersive soundtrack, very good German voice acting (I prefer to go for the original voices for a game even though it is not my mother tongue). Yes I felt a bit lost some times for a couple minutes (long time right?) and I had to keep talking and look around a bit more BUT hey I remember some of those puzzles or strange items combinations from games like Monkey Islands or Broken sword series. There are indeed several things I wished I could have seen improved but it is still a game that received genuine love and passion from their creators !
Thanks for your observations! 🙂
This was on my steam wishlist for well over a year. When it went on sale I pounced. I played for under 10 minutes. It crashed. I restarted it. It got a little further in. It crashed. After the sixth or seventh crash I uninstalled and requested a refund. Pity. it looks nice.
Good honest review.
great review, you addressed all significant points had high hopes but, nah think i will be passing on this game
What's the point of making a lot of beautiful stop-motion sets and then digitizing them so they just look like cgi anyway? I'd rather see something with the original sets those artists put so much work into creating.
Brutal takedown
Truberbrook just cancelled the office Christmas party
[Spoiler Alert]
This is not a review, its a literal synopsis
so go watch a different "review" thats actually a review. i.e.: *Is It Worth It | Trüberbrook* ruclips.net/video/EzlLUjXv1Hg/видео.html&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE
w/ outline & function, w/ impression, form, function, pros/cons, why, how, what, tech, software, rating & conclusion, etc.
I thought a review was a #Review & a "Synopisis" was the literal explanation of the story - for the game, of which a review is what would explain the form & function & overall depth or design to inspire gameplay or explain why it may be not all that it appears to be & worth skipping, do to impression, emersion, intrigue & mystery.
I mean, why play if the literal story & timeline of events is just explained & told?
I lile the art style but not a fan of gameplay
I totally agree. I played it blind. The art style was amazing, but the controls for walking felt bad, the voice acting was kinda off, the characters were shallow, the interesting concepts went mostly unexplored, and the conclusion to the game was anticlimactic. Would not recommend, aside from for wallpaper screenshots
Plus the puzzles made no sense
It's 3 minutes your review.....
Lol your complaints describe....every adventure game ever made
Games with gold anyone?
thank you, my wallet is safe!
It’s free on Xbox live gold this month if you want it free
Building a set, then turning it into a computer graphic, is stupidity on a level I've not often seen. LMAO... digital graphics exist.... so you don't have to build a set... I can't even process that level of insanity.
You're an ignorant. With this technique you project your photos of the real set on a low poly computer model. Its a combination, the artistic lighting and textures of real craftsmanship and the control of a digital set, best of both worlds. It is used in cinema for dacades, check it out, it makes a lot of sense.
A real shame. Game looks amazing and is my favourite genre how ever if the story and jokes truly are flat ill take ur advice and not play. Unless heavily discounted.
Don't take his word for it. Give it a go.
@@Leddius Nah he's right. I've played the whole thing
lmao
3.02 video, 2 minute review.. what am I missing here 😶
This review is not Very good. The game is, however. It takes a lot more creativity to create this game than it does for this guy to try to rip it apart!!
I played this on my galaxy samsung mobile....the movement is nothing to be proud about.
NOTHING TO RECCOMEND: That's the only requirement to be a free games with gold!
Typical German inability to entertain. Too many German productions have this weird thing where they have a few stunningly executed aspects and then fall short in most other regards. That's why we're at our best when it comes to simulators, where the entertainment factor just naturally results from one concept being explored very thoroughly, but fail most other times. "This is a solid premise and the sets look stunning, we don't need fleshed-out, entertaining dialogue or engaging gameplay" I can almost hear them think. "Bells and whistles"
And I'm saying that as a German, myself. Germany should stick to novels, simulators and educational content. We're too focused to make things all-around entertaining.
Like the old cliche says:
"If at first you don't succeed, just give up completely because mistakes are just failures not valuable lessons or anything." lol.
Although I wouldn't be this harsh, unfortunately I agree, the game is very messy.
this game sucks
