Maybe you might consider building a desk for yourself in that corner.. Back in the 50s the kitchens had offices in them for the women to run the household from..
Can also use vinegar instead of Lime Away to clean coffee machine.

Sophia, You know those cabinet spaces under your counter.... check out "pullout shelves" like your pantry has. (sometimes called sliding, rolling, or rollout). Home depot has some. You could pullout and access your office supplies while on your chair, as well as cookbook access.
Hi Sophia, for your kitchen office area, google "drafting table chair" then click on images. They are tall comfortable office chairs for long hours and they have foot support. Perhaps just get one chair that you love, and is of high quality.
The yard: you should pray fema does not see it because if you still owe on your house they will make you buy their insurance and it is not cheap.
I always used a plastic pan in my sink because my Aunt Mildred did.
