I love Rauma, it becomes softer when you wash and wear it, I usually have a t-shirt under or singlet under.

I’ve worn t-shirts under my rustic sweaters all my life. I love your process. You appreciate the fibre, the craft, the art.🌸🌸

I love this geeking out! I have been obsessed with Rauma's new sock yarn Vandre (not so new anymore, it came out this time last year). It's an all natural sock yarn with 50% spælsau fibre, which adds reinforcement. It's also tightly spun and requires a little bit of felting before use, after which it becomes pretty soft and sturdy. I should probably make a video gushing about this yarn, but enjoy this little rant lol.
Btw, I mostly do nalbinding, but I know knitting and found your test patches and thoughts very fascinating!

Thank you for the all the info about gauge on your new yarn. I'm a new adventure knitter. I was more of a crocheter, but decided my first knit item after 15 yrs would be the Stephen West MKAL . I finished it 12/31/22! Not bad considering I put it in timeout for almost two weeks after trying the first clue! and now I'm hooked (or needled?)☺️
I might try the v neck cardigan you mentioned. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.💜

I truly appreciate your thoughts about drape. As a self taught knitter with a weaving back ground in the furnishings field I am often pondering drape and whether the density of my swatches is okay, too loose or too stiff. This segment was helpful.
Because my stash consists of all sorts & weights of yarns, many on cones without the helpful labels found on skeins I frequently hold two to three strands of different yarns or from the same cone for non color work projects. It is a process to get a yarn I like & figure out the best needle size & then find a matching pattern. I work with what I already have and often create beautiful & unique yarn combos. In one case I combined a outrageous vintage jelly bean purple worsted wool with a very fine black boucle that yielded a sophisticated visual texture and acceptably calmer yet still fun purple fabric. It is all an adventure.

Never had a wooly wool stick to a cottony shirt beneath🙌🏻

I find sweaters stick more to synthetic fabric because of static; not so with cotton. I'm not a cardigan person either but have my eye on Timepiece Cardigan by Ailbiona McLochlainn. Pattern includes DK (21 st/10cm) and Aran (18) versions, with variations. Muscari is lovely too. Happy knitting.

Ooh, that's a lovely cardigan, and with pockets! Thanks for the tips :)

Lovely to get the chance to hear your process around finding a project for your Finull. I am in no way an expert on Finull, though I've lived in Norway for 25 years.... BUT, cotton T-shirts are what people wear under their sweaters and cardigans (kofte) here. I am very familiar with Lopi, and have worn both cardigans and sweaters in different kinds of that fibre, and it does not stick to cotton. Will be looking forward to seeing what you figure out.

Check out the “Timepiece Cardigan” by Ailbiona McLochlainn. I am currently knitting it, and am already thinking of knitting another. V neck, top down, raglan construction with button band knit simultaneously with the cardigan. 😊

The speed weave darning thing works. It won’t be in you pattern but it will fix your hole. ❤

Ooops, I missed this podcast and the fact that I won the knitalong (not really fair, since most others appearantly chickened out...LOL) My name is Michelle, and I love sandals = sandaledmich ;-) I'm currently living in Denmark, but intend to move back to Canada in the very near future 🙂

Oh... and please do not try to rip back your felty socks ... "rip" ring a bell?!🤭

Only the leg, and then again the foot, leaving a half felted heel slice dangling about :)
