If JP would allow the EN market to make Premium content it could be a real boon for those clans/ playstyles that are left out of the fan favorite zone

Great video, love to see other content creators have their say in. I'll copy over my thoughts on it so others can see here in the comments:
Personally I will keep playing Standard. Fortunately, Standard has evolved enough where I have interest in playing it. I also already play legacy formats like G Format and Yu-Gi-Oh Goat. So in this case, Premium would be a legacy format for me to also play.
Furthermore, legacy formats will be community based for the most part. So as long as there is an active community, the format will continue to be played. Yu-Gi-Oh Goat for example has their own circuit series across the world but in person and online via Dueling Book/Discord.
Their prizing is also up to the community. I've participated in the Chicago series and they had cash and a PS5 and worlds invite.
For Vanguard, Standard needed some time to develop for more variety and depthness. Some decks are too simple to play with and can get boring quickly. But that's personal preference. One of the biggest things I like playing Shiranui in Standard is that it has have depthness.
For example, early game is vital on when to give CB, stay at G2, and the grind game that it can happen. Especially mirror matches or other stride decks where G2 gaming does happen for multiple turns until one "gives up first stride". That's one aspect.
I also enjoy decks that have multiple lines of play and resource management. Zorga and Welstra are more recent for me. I feel I can learn and/or reaffirm from each game when I play with those type of decks. Just some of my thoughts I share.

Premium has very little to no presence here in the LA area and the Premium decksets aren't selling over here since we're all playing Standard ever since V stopped getting support.
Standard here has been doing amazing in contrast.

Here's the unfortunate truth and a bit of a cold take: Premium and V-Premium is the Canary in the coal mine. The Average player NEEDS these formats to be *somewhat* stable. It not only adds a layer of legitimacy to Bushiroad's reboot insecurities with these formats having some semblance of care but it also keeps a lot of the Market Pressure off of standard to please everyone, especially since a lot of older players will be kinda perpetually dissatisfied with standard, because even when it tries, standard cannot provide or emulate the complexity or the skill expression of Eras past because of how long Vanguard was a Non-rotating game.
If Standard was to become the only game in town, Vanguard's prospects of survival as soon as Bushiroad decide things have become too complex again is in serious jeopardy.

A great video. I would say yes I would quit because I am tired of the amount of reboots this game has had. Let’s be honest the word “standard” for D format isn’t most likely the end goal. Even if they axed premium and V is dead, we will then have D format, and then something else referred to as “standard”
At least with premium we can look back at all our collections collectively and enjoy the game for the nuance interactions.

unfortunately for me, my interests in Premium are strictly Gear Chronicle focused because it was my favorite clan aesthetically (i played them when they were bad, good, and everything in between). Even though I've been playing since 2012, if they axed Premium, I wouldn't be affected too much because as it stands my deck isn't doing as well as it once did, I'd say I could retire that version of the game having had my time in the sun with it and not regret a thing. I do also play Standard, so I would still enjoy the game in another way.

While I am a bit of a noob I think that the energy crest will come to premium eventually. While standard decks are obviously not meant for that format, it would be a bit bs if your friends play a game and you can't play because it's a different format...
In terms of the ride deck in premium, I understand why it could a pandoras box for some decks, it'd also allow the stride decksets to play with their crest(without having to buy them 4 times for a single/practically vanilla card ) and mix them with old g units, something that I kinda want(for luard with good/decent ritual cards) but can see how it can break the game(g guards, some superior stride w/gifts, power for every GB)

To be fair, I'm already playing premodern casual, G-standard, Pre-ex Pokemon ( and HAT format.
So, I'ld really not care if they sunset premium, because that is how card gaming companies are. They do sabotage their costumers and make them buy expensive randomized cardboard pieces just for they make most of them useless and keep you buying.
And fr rl, Buahiroad is the most aggressive one in this perspective.
They made 3 products that wasn't even out yet already useless ( G-EB03; G-BT14 and Bermuda CB) becauae they announced their hard rotation.
But you still could play with those cards in an eternal format. You just needed to buy the entire skeleton of the deck again. Because PGs were draw triggers, triggers more powerful in this new rotation and guess what? Your kagero deck full built with the top of the top cards from the entrie vanguard history now loses to a trial deck + the support from V-BT01 because Force Markers and new triggers were that oppresive.

Even though I don't play premium that much, I think I'd end up quitting just based on the precedence of them completely nuking over half my collection. So I'd sell up all my standard and go to Lorcana full time.

I love premium. I love how Bushiroad keeps making premium Decksets every year and I just bought one of the latest ones. But if Premium did end I would probably play standard. Though it would be nice if Bushiroad made high level standard Decksets because the new start decks suck.

I would still play as Standard is my favourite format. Also keeping Stride deck sets out of Standard would be great, also not having crests that give 5000+ power in scaling would be nice too. The latest deck sets did everything right with the Crests.

I'd still play. All Standard really needs is a universal way to punish early rush. I also do not see them allowing Energy Generator in Premium. Energy as a mechanic lets hem make cards specifically for Standard without worrying about how it would impact the meta in Premium.

I don't go to tournaments. My favorite format is premium, so I'm not really happy with the cards that have no use in premium... that said, I would still play it with house rules to adopt standard mechanics. If they officially axed it, it would give me the excuse to finally do that.

I mean, I would play Vanguard regardless, I recently got premium decksets, and I have the luard decksets, so I wish to keep playing in any format, I'd be sad and a bit disappointed by having bought the P decksets and not being able to use them but still... unfortunately not many play near me, but still...

Bushiroad has too many red flags when dealing with CFV. The idea of the game was fun, but it has it's flaws. Overall, the game was a water down WS in the beginning. Overtime, it developed its own identity, but it still had its issues due to triggers being a big factor of the game. The game has amazing art work and good soild card quality.
I think when it came to Premium format, triggers don't matter as much due to everything hitting so hard that an extra 5-10k doesn't matter. Premium seemed like the YGO of CFV since there were a lot of crazy stuff you could do. And it's great that there's a home for older cards.
1 set a year for Premium is fine, but 2 is very generous.
I can't see them stop supporting Premium unless they stop supporting Standard. I do believe they're looking for the next big game to take over CFV and treat CFV like a specialty for events.

Unfortunately premium exists only as a safe net for Bushiroad. They aren't really interested in supporting it - the format only get erratas as new cards - but they're probably too scared to entertain the idea to actually kill the usability of a decade of card releases.
