This game looks absolutely incredible. From what I've seen, it's delivering everything I've wanted out of a D&D game. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
@@neversaydie6032 No major bugs on my end, a few graphical glitches. As for explanations, yeah there isn't much of a tutorial. I would have been lost if not for Wolfheart FPS, Mortisimal, and Fextralife videos.
My first playthrough has been as a Barbarian. So far there are precious few problems they don't give a Barbarian character a chance to solve with their muscles-it's hilarious
By the way, if you aren't using Laz'ael and you aren't sneaking around, then Lazael's armour looks really good on Shadowheart while offering better protection.
Odd numbers are actually pretty solid in 5e because you have the option to +1/+1 or take half stat feats which grant +1 to a single stat. A lot of the time strictly avoiding odd numbers doesn't gain much if anything for a character, and realistically most builds are going to want at least a single odd number. That being their main stat, as you'll be able to reach 20 with only a single full ability score increase and be ale to take a utility feat alongside a no-score feat.
It's funny because I always brought Lae'zel because she's basically the only frontliner-type Companion in the game. For release I was considering some sort of hireling to replace her despite hirelings not having the inherit story - or maybe respecing one of the other companions for it - but then I found out about one of the latest companion additions to the game which is arguably a better frontliner than Lae'zel so I rolled with that and never looked back.
@@demonicfiendjr7279 Well, yes. I didn't mention her by name because at the time I wasn't sure if Quill knew about her (though he did show that he knew her when talking to Wyll).
@@demonicfiendjr7279 She wasn't in the earlier days of EA, though. She was added in Patch 7 IIRC. That was waaay past when he first dabbled with EA. But no harm done!
Since I'm on a Mac, I thought I was going to have to live viacriously through quill18 until September 6 (when the Mac release rolls around.). Then I discovered GeForce, and now I get to play the full game on my Mac, and compare what quill18 does to what I do. I'm playing a half-elf sorcerer, since I've never played a magic-using class in D&D. Or really any roleplaying game I've ever played. But I wanted a Charisma-based character, and I didn't want to play a Bard or a Paladin. GeForce (sorry if I sound like a shill... I'm a long time watcher... but I'm excited!) will also allow me to play some games that are no longer supported by 64 bit systems... when I get done with Baldur's Gate. IF I ever get done with Baldur's gate. I've got two other characters in mind to play already.... I'm barely out of the prologue and already having a blast.
If you select Shadowheart and then on the spiky Rubics Cube, and then select to use the item, you get some interesting choices. Try and have her throw it away...
Sometimes that can work, but I find that it's generally not as good as being open about most difficulties. (There are exceptions, of course, and of course some campaign concepts work better with hidden DCs.)
Neverwinter Nights (the first, or well, 2002 one that was a reboot of a mid-90s mmo) didn't do much of anything interesting campaign wise. It was meant to be a demo of what was available in the toolset more then anything and even by that standard didn't do much in terms of skills and dialogue (and the story was so full of weird anomlous stuff that made no setting sense). The sequel from Obisidian did better with the campaigns, but basically completely failed at the toolset thing by making it overcomplicated (which is why you can still find 20 year running NWN1 RP servers but NWN2 is diehards at best)
1:19:00 On the topic of random books: I'd just throw some actual books at them, go to my bookshelf and pick a random one. And if they REALLY insist on checking for different genres or something, there's still the vast library of Light Novels/Web Novels/etc out there, that are easily accessible... don't tempt me, or you might find that 100% of all bookshelves are purely stocked with one genre, and ALL of them have different titles; if you want we can spend the next few weeks just reading them, don't worry, most of them only have around 100-200 translated chapters, this shouldn't take too long!
For a diplomatic druid attacking the Tieflings makes no sense. Why would anyone help Lae'zel? She would've killed you on the nautoloid if the tadpole didn't intervene, she had a great ambush. She would have left Shadowheart to die. She left you and shadowheart on the beach. She threatens you to either join her or die. She's a bad companion to have, I stayed out of the fight and she became hostile to me, so I helped kill her and got a very good medium armour out of it. Like she would sacrifice you the second it was of use to her, no idea why anyone would save her, unless you are evil or something.

If that's fair in your book you must be a psychopath, this would be similar to two cops arresting someone for running a red light and that someone demanding you fight with them or die. Simply absurd.
Yeah it is Divinity 2 with a Baldur's Gate skin, which is the reason why I am interessted in it ^^ I found the old AD&D Games like BG1&2 incredible boring to play.
Your playing the rouge wrong you need to do sneak during battle like you should of went to a not red area, toggled sneak then went up to top of hill and cast sneak attack. Also loot with other characters especially ones with higher strength and split potions an give them to characters who don’t have any. Hope that helps
More efficient would be the other way around. Go to the top of a hill or have someone within their melee range. This is enough for sneak attack. After attacking get out of sight and hide.
Just watching back through this. The comment about using Ivermectin being dumb... kinda makes whoever says it look dumb now, doesn't it :D Don't believe everything the telly tells you... or dictator Trudeau. Stick to gaming - very entertaining in that respect!
The idea of a bear trundling around a library reading all the books...
More BG3 livestreaming today starting at 1pm ET!
All that fire to put out with your water spell
The book situation around 2:05:00 gives me serious Vox Machina vs. Doors vibes. Still can't believe they included that in the animated series
Honestly, if something was that critical to the plot it shouldn't be left up to the dice whether or not something as trivial as opening a lock

I'm sick and tired of these mother fucking drops in my mother fucking stream
1:19:18, that's why I created a random book generator, which picks them from a list of over 800.

Gale has proficency in Light Armor and Shields. So you don't need mage armor at all. You are better of wearing some decent AC.

Anyone tried using Mage Hands to trip the trap, then using Mage Hands to turn off the trap?? Remotely..
You have to be an arcane trickster to do that.
In EA the undead fight was a lot harder they all cast magic missile instead of silence.

Belladonna, a beautiful woman. Fellow man of culture!
Most DMs don't tell the player what number they need to roll to succeed in a check. They just make them roll and give them the results.
