Top Gear really getting me through lockdown
Exactly 👍👍🤝
i spend at least 3 or 4 hours every day rewatching old episodes. Lol
Indeeed, couldn't agree more.
It’s the only thing holding me together, just rewatching and rewatching
Me too..Always a fan of TopGear and always used to see every episodes again and again, but I think LD makes me watch TopGear's watched episodes again and again, old missed episodes..Its really became an everyday LD hobby now❤️❤️Those Three Men❤️❤️
The best job in the world, Top Gear
The stelvio pass is in italy-southtirol...its my homepass...
The Aston Martin looks like a damn taxi
The Aston is cool.
what is the soundtrack at the start of the video?
6:08 james may's ahh special
As an American, it's so abstract to see them go through different countries so fast
It would be like moving through different states, size-wise.
Likewise as an Australian.
Unsinkable Sam Yup 🇦🇺👍
We are a bunch of small, angry countries that have not enough space for all of us and decided to just take room elsewhere.
@@HappyBeezerStudios lmao that is perfect

This content is worth watching even in this low upload quality
And even after 10 years or so...
Low quality my arse
My country is fuck i am watching in 144p 🤣🤣💔
When the quality of the production itself is so high, the quality of the video resolution doesn't matter that much. I will always prefer to watch these old films that were shot on lower quality cameras (by today's standards), but the production itself was brilliant (and small details are taken care of), rather than all the new 4k ultra HD but unimaginative, boring as hell crap that most, if not everyone, seems to be making nowadays. The music selection also plays a big part in this.
I can imagine the swiss mountains. lol
Stelvio Pass: a road so good, Alfa Romeo named a vehicle after it.
That’s when you know you have a good road
If only it wasn't an SUV...
@@johnracy2871 fells like a sedan tho

Top Gear UK is such a great show! I was never interested in cars at all, I started watching TopGear channel videos, then decided to watch the seasons and found it very interesting and entertaining, Now I see that I actually learned so much about cars! :)
this is a great mix of fun and education for me. I wish everything could be learned like this!
I want to Thank Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May, The Stig and all the Top Gear crew who makes this show so interesting and entertaining!
You still into cars? Grand Tour?
honestly for me, it is less about the cars and more about the three gentlemen having fun
This comment is a gem of the past.
i just wonder if the stig was michael schumacher, he disapeared same time michael had the accident.
@@sebastianconstantin5176 No the real Stig was a man called Ben Collins, Michael was just there for that episode I guess, also there have been multiple Stigs as the original ''Ben Collins'' had a court battle with the show, you can just google it
I love how Jeremy is talking about the secure car park while a car alarm is going off in the back ground at 3:43
They add a lot of sound effects in for comedic effect
@@asdsdjfasdjxajiosdqw8791 They did it well really
that was your takeaway...? not him hopping over the fence or driving in lol
to be fair also a reasonable takeaway haha
Driving heaven = Being able to drive your car (whatever it happens to be) on roads with NO OTHER TRAFFIC.
Taekwondo Time swiss alps are good for that. youll be alone on the road if you drive during the week early in the morning. thats also when theres still mist around and the sun is rising. most beautiful time of the day on those roads.
Surprised that James went with an Aston, and not a Ferrari (unless they were trying to avoid the obvious choice, in which case a McLaren/Mercedes).
Ah, I just know that May always prefers Ferrari's on these sort of trips (like supercars do France), and he states how he prefers the smooth ride.
Just as surprised he picked the wrong Aston...you'd figure he'd have done more homework in that regard.
Seracen I don't think they actually choose...its the producers that give them cars that they want/havent been used before
@104567277918282273739 What Ferrari would you advice then?? Hammond said "new generation light weight supercars'
What Ferrari with ligthened weight was there. Sure, the 430 Scuderia but that was already tested months ago.
Firemarioflower I guess so. I just know that James always harped on about Ferraris, so I'm surprised he didn't figure something out, even if it was a repeat (didn't stop Hammond or Jeremy in other instances).
But more importantly...RIP Top Gear, you will be sorely missed...
@john m ehm no hahahah

The drive from Davos to the Stelvio Pass is amazing... it truly is driving heaven. The roads in the States are nothing compared to what is available in Europe, even what is available in England. Man, I miss living in Europe... if not just for the driving...

The catch though: Davos to Stelvio doesn't go over the pass, if you were actually driving for purpose. You would stay on the 28 till Italy, and not go over the Umbrailpass for no reason.. :) You would have to specifically choose to go the long way around over the Stelvio pass, if that's what you wanted.

The road with the awesome aerial shot just after Davos is called the Flüelapass. I know this because i have been driving it just a few days ago. Very awesome piece of road. "significant portion".. not really. Neither does it make more sence than driving on the right.
***** well forgive a person who's first language isn't English. We could try this in Dutch but I'm fairly sure you don't speak that language. The fact that you have to go personal on me makes clear that you dont have any good points. The rest of your comment confirms this: 'it does make sence if more people go on the left'. Most people already drive on the right. So right back at you: it would make more sense when all people go on the right, since that is where most are already. But since it is very inconvenient for nations to switch over everything, lets just keep things the way they are. It works fine.
john m how does that make more sense? Thats the dumbest thing i ever heard!!! They also drive on the opposite side of the road soo its basically the same thing.

As an American those European mountain passes are just incredible
I live in the region in switzerland (chur) they drove through and to be honest, we avoid these passes most of the time, the san Bernadino for example has a good tunnel. Otherwise a journey to the south would take way to long, particulary during winter. But you are right, the passes are quite beautiful.
@rural_student750 As an American who drove over 500 miles just today, I'm pretty confident we wouldn't be bothered by the distance or travel time. This is a HUGE country I drive my Miata 2.5 hours one-way to get to my favorite driving roads. Our good roads (at least up here in OR/WA) also tend to be quite low traffic, but for the simple reason that the bears and Bigfoot outnumber the people. Very few people have business going from Carson to Randle, which is why there's only one gas station in 70 miles. But it's a spectacular run all to yourself with the Mt St Helens volcano in the middle.

i did this with my son in my 2.8 Z3 BMW 1996. it was amazing. I never fully appreciated before the power of the torque nor the benefit of the rear wheel drive. I could turn on a sixpence and pull straight out of the bends whilst pointing upwards at 45 degrees :-) I felt sorry for all those posh Ferraris that could neither handle the tight turns nor the steep angles and had to take the turns wide and slow lol ;-) oh by the way its very much a drivers experience..... my son was sick about half way but I just kept going ha ha ha

Top Gear, you have no idea... There are many more passes in the Alps that can compete with the San Bernadino or the Stelvio.
