    Some really beautiful gems there man! What an interesting site. I'd be curious to see if the obsidian is of a high enough quality to work with on my torch(High quality obsidian can be gently worked into pendants and the like by a skilled glass maker.) Great Video! I especially enjoyed the drone shots and that cool as hell drop into the water where the fish were. That blew my damn mind.

      The Gold Panner Thanks so much for watching truly appreciate it, I follow your channel and love your videos as well. If you’re ever in the Cariboo / Nechako region of B.C. don’t hesitate to reach out, I’ll take you to my peridot mineral claim you can test the obsidian there’s TONS of it there, and I’ll bring ya out on my placer claims I’ve got up here ✨⛏

    "obsidian" at 4 minutes is black spinel, which also forms in the mantle like olivine/peridot.

    Is basalt always that dark exterior or does it come in other colours?

    • @CaribooGOLDHunter
      @CaribooGOLDHunter  11 месяцев назад +1

      Basalt generally comes in dark grey to black. The density of basalt can be different though. There’s some basalt which is able to be napped for making arrowheads and such.

      Thx for that response. Do you ever come further north around the pine pass north of Prince George? I would love to see an episode of yours there. I live in northeast B.C. and would absolutely be there in person watching and learning as I have been studying and researching gems and gold for 2 and half years now. I have Been out prospecting but would like to do it more. Thanks for your comments. Kman.

    Nice video, looks like you got a couple of decent cutters! You should invest in a decent crack hammer, two pounds or so, you’ll find it much more useful. A claw hammer is not meant for hitting rocks.

    • @CaribooGOLDHunter
      @CaribooGOLDHunter  3 года назад

      Thanks so much for watching. Yeah I’m definitely going to have to invest in some quality gear. I plan on purchasing a quality hammer, a hammer drill and some feather and wedges as well ⛏

    What’s your pup wearing on his muzzle?

    • @CaribooGOLDHunter
      @CaribooGOLDHunter  2 года назад

      It’s just a soft muzzle nothing else on it. He’s terrible on leash so the muzzle works great when I need him to behave and stick close by. There’s frequently wild animals around (moose, grizzlies, black bears, wolves, mountain lions) so there’s several times we are out in the bush prospecting and I need him on leash 😊

    I have heard this quarry down Talus road north of Prince George is a claim. Would you have any info?

    • @CaribooGOLDHunter
      @CaribooGOLDHunter  3 года назад

      Yes you are correct it is claimed, the entire quarry and surrounding area is all my claim :) I also have trail cams set up around the quarry to catch problem claim jumpers!

    • @joemama-xw1jh
      @joemama-xw1jh 2 года назад

      Weird thought it was CN/twin rivers quarry? Your cameras must get a workout, that’s one of the best swimming holes around. We swim there all the time, kids get a kick out of all the fish. They use the rock from this pit for railway ballast and riprap in a few places around town that I’ve found some nice pieces in.
