    These are my evidence based recommendations for specific foods you should be eating everyday to lower cholesterol.
    We’ve done a full dive into what cholesterol is, why we need it, how we measure it and why it’s important to get certain measures of cholesterol in our blood down to as low levels as possible, on episode #202 of the podcast.
    Todays episode is specifically tackling the foods and doses of foods I personally consume daily to keep cholesterol levels in check. As part of a heart healthy protocol, I feel that these additional ingredients can be safely added to most peoples diets with positive results.

    I have to say since I have cut out processed food about two month ago and only been eating whole food and good quality bread (expensive stuff from artisan bakery) I have lost a lot of fat!! I couldn’t believe it but it really works! And that’s with the gym membership on freeze, I’ve just change my job from desk job to one where I’m on my feet, been doing household shores like cleaning and ironing, and going for walks for an hour when I have time. I am 100% behind eating healthy and just having an active life style instead of sedentary to be of healthy weight. Everything what you say in the podcast is true and works! I have no sugar cravings anymore I am so surprised because I have always been known as someone with a sweet tooth! I feel like my whole life has been turned round and it’s a sustainable life style. We are not well off but we spend majority of our budget on good food instead of going out and clothes etc.

    This is fantastically, clear explanation of how cholesterol leaves the body. Does oat bran count as a whole grain? Oats raise my blood sugar to 300’s.

    Informative, however the topic of foods to clean out arteries wasn't addressed. Or maybe I'm missing something? Reducing cholesterol is one thing, but does that clean out plaque in arteries? This video doesn't address this question. I also would have liked to hear more about the role of saturated fat in heart disease.

    • @k.h.6991
      @k.h.6991 Месяц назад +2

      Yes, if you can lower your LDL enough, you can reduce plaque (at least the stuff that isn't calcified).

    Unfortunately I am allergic to all nuts and lots of the seeds and because I am allergic to peanuts I have been advised to avoid legumes! I tend to eat lots of broccoli and cauliflowers and have runner beans. I also eat rye bread! Is it ok to eat to eat gluten free Nairn porridge oats!

    • @k.h.6991
      @k.h.6991 Месяц назад +2

      Oats are very healthy, as long as you are not allergic to them. Very good for lowering cholesterol. Decent source of protein. Do branch out to things like sweet potato and other root vegetables. You may need to consult a plant based dietician, because your list of food restrictions is pretty long. They may help you find a way to get a balanced diet and restrict as little as necessary.
