Sam. I love tortilla soup. Please look up a place called Qdobas. They have a killer tortilla soup. But they have a mexican gumbo that u can put inside of a taco salad shell. Its killer man. Trust me on this one.
Perfect thing would have been to dice up the "leftover" tortillas and put it in with the stock and salsa as it's heating up. They break up and dissolve into the broth adding a lot of body and cornmeal taste and goodness that really makes it even more comforting.
Following you from Canada. Mexican wife, Canadian husband. We love you Sam! Thank you for putting a word on Mexican food not perfect though accurate and very respectful. Thank you! ❤️ We are making your baked wings tonight. I wish I could send you a pic of them! Gracias for the tips! Cheers from BC Canada!
Sam, I really love you and your show. You lost me on this one though. No way I'm trying to serve someone a cooked jar of Herdez and pass it off as tortilla soup.
Sam, love your show and recipes - I'm a big fan, however whenever I make this recipe prior to watching this episode (minus the airfryer) I have always added roasted kernel corn to it. The results are amazing! Keep up the great work!😃
You literally posted this just as I was wondering how to make tortilla soup. Did this and it was amazing. Added a few of your favorite spices. Best meal in awhile. Thanks guys!
Eating this now! Sooooooo... good. Of course we improvised. Baked a chicken breast but with the same spices Sam said. Used tortilla chips we had on hand. Added about a cup of Mexican style frozen veggies (I find soup a sneaky way to health-it-up). This is a great way to use up those half-jars of salsa you have cluttering your fridge. Thanks, Sam the Cooking Guy! Not only are my taste buds happy and tummy filled... I got to clean out the fridge a tad too!
Roast a whole chicken and shred it. Bake your own tortilla strips. Chop up an avocado. Pour your soup from a jar. It’s like watching a hungover cooking show where the chef gives up at the end.
We have tacos planned but I was literally wondering how many tortillas we actually have. Was thinking about doing a casserole I used to make years ago, and then there’s Sam to the rescue!!
Do taco night and if you "Cook with Intentional Leftovers" you can do an Enchilada Casserole the next night. I do that often to change leftovers from one meal into another meal, but using 90% of the same stuff. Spray a casserole dish with spray, lay down some enchilada sauce, some meat, your tortillas, (trust me or the tortillas stick and clean up sucks), and layer it like a lasagna. Enchilada sauce is your marinara. I like to top mine with shredded lettuce, an avocado crema (I learned from Sam) and some chopped black olives and chopped tomatoes, but do what you like.
Damn! This recipe is so good and so simple. Thanks! Made it even easier by buying chips and a cooked rotisserie chicken. Please make Panda Express beijing beef or a panzerroti (shallow fry in cast iron pan). Thanks again!
I actually started making you recipe of this 10+ years ago when i first found you on the cooking channel. So easy- i used to use rotisserie chicken because I’m that lazy
Holy crap!!! This was the first Sam the Cooking Guy recipe I tried from Sam's show "Just cook this" in 2014. The recipe is little different, but it was great back then. So I can't wait to try the revised version. Thanks Guys!!! Keep em coming!
Love it!!! Instead of a taco bar, we do the tortilla soup bar . Bowls of rice , beans, shredded cheese, Costco chicken, etc., and everyone creates their own. Happy Cinco de mayo Sam and boys ✌️ and don’t forget the cocktails 😊
Thank you that was delicious we made it for dinner and it was amazing we made it for dinner I used air fried boneless skinless chicken thighs instead of a whole chicken but it was delicious
Just got my air-fryer today! COSORI CAF-L501-KUS. First meal of chicken strips and french fries went without a hitch. Would love so see any recipes! Do beef Wellington!
Annnnnnd once again, Sam knocks it out of the park. His spices would wake up the dead and make the living salivate darn near to death! If a person watched and studied every episode Sam produces, I doubt they would need to go to Culinary School which gives you a piece of paper while relieving you of thousands of dollars! His ideas always address flavor which is the mark of an excellent Chef. Sam, YOU DA BOMB!
You could get by with a good cooking show but there is simply no teacher like experience. Make the stuff. A fancy cooking school isnt any better than a cheap one though. They can give a great foundation for someone looking to make a living as a chef. Jobs only care about experience. Same as in IT.
That does has everything you want! My air fryer dinner suggestions; insanely loaded baked potato with a schnitzel. A massive lumpia (not just an egg roll, the real deal). And pork al pastor with elote.
I’ve eaten at a world class restaurant in CanCun, Mexico named La Dolce Vita. They served an incredible “Caribbean Seafood Soup” which they had added fried slivers of corn tortilla. The crunch component along with the mild delicious seafood stock and the sweet seafood was amazing. Grouper, clam, shrimp and squid. Heaven in a bowl.
Looks yummy but I add to the soup large chunks of yellow and green squash and a rutabaga. Maybe some corn , carrots and black beans. Then set up a topping bar with tortillas cheese avocado sourcream and lime wedges… more intensive but yummy and more nutritious.
Just about everything you use a regular oven for. It cooks fully quicker and evenly. Steaks are great in them with the broil setting. Can cook a ribeye medium in about 8-10 min..
I like that idea of 5 recipes for an air fryer... but maybe 5 dinner recipes that are NOT specifically for an air fryer... to showcase the versatility of an air fryer.
It is.. in half the time.. set it on broil.. you can cook baked potatoes and ears of corn right above the steak on the air fryer rack in about 4 to 5 min and the steak in under 10 min...
I love my helix but I will say the luxe version is almost a must. We returned the reg version but me and my wife love the side sleeper midnite (midnight) luxe.
yes please!!! Can you do a combo instantpot/airfryer combo recipes. I made wings in the instant pot and finished them in the oven. So good!!! I should've tried in air fryer instead.
Sam and the boys I have been learning to cook with a Corsori Toaster oven Air fryer mix and it's been amazing. Maybe, if you have something like those around, include that in the next air fryer episode? For those of us with no oven and limited space the thing is amazeballs! I'm eating some leftover chicken and rice I made with it now. I've done Cottage (Shepherd's) Pie in a cast iron skillet, lasagna, breaded pork chops. All kinds of fun stuff and they are VERY affordable now
Nice and simple deliciousness! We make ours with Sweet Potato base peeled, boiled and pureed along with chicken broth. Add little corn and black beans Add chicken from Costco or make our own, top with tortilla strips, Mexican sour cream, avocado, cilantro. Good junk weather day food for sure.
Hey Sam your videos are awesome! Could you please do a video on Pittsburgh style steak? Not just searing, but how they make the crust/ blackening seasoning on it in the restaurants? I can’t find this anywhere.

Thank you Sam! Can’t wait to see what delicious food is up next!
Thank U Sam !
looks good
gonna try making the chicken 🐔 the the air fryer this time 👍
What is the name of your air fryer
Hey Sam. I'm uber gay so give me a shout out sometime dude! xoxo
Sam. I love tortilla soup. Please look up a place called Qdobas. They have a killer tortilla soup. But they have a mexican gumbo that u can put inside of a taco salad shell. Its killer man. Trust me on this one.

Agreed. Also add some rice and corn
@@runtwer5700 and a dollup of sour cream and cheese.
@@BigT27295 I ain't really a fan of sour cream so fuck that. But cheese, fuck yeah!

Sam, I really love you and your show. You lost me on this one though. No way I'm trying to serve someone a cooked jar of Herdez and pass it off as tortilla soup.
That part threw me off too; maybe 1/3 salsa and 2/3rds Spicy V8 or something? (if you're going for convenience)
lmao I was like wtf is going on did he just eat boiled salsa?
Yes! I thought this was a joke.
I think this is good for people that can't afford more than a jar of salsa and a bit of left over chicken
For real. Salsa, chicken, and tortillas do not equal tortilla soup.
Sliced radishes would be an amazing garnish for that soup. Crunch with flavor!
My wife and I would love to see more use of the air fryer. Love the show ❤️
Sam, love your show and recipes - I'm a big fan, however whenever I make this recipe prior to watching this episode (minus the airfryer) I have always added roasted kernel corn to it.
The results are amazing!
Keep up the great work!😃
I'm usually all about your recipes but this one im passing on trying.
If it doesn't have 2 packs of shredded cheese in it, I'm out! - Said the guy who weighed 540 pounds
@@Caffeinated_Warrior Bro this shit looks so nasty what the fuck, only a 540 lbs guy WOULD eat this.
Love the show and I watch every episode. 99.9% of the time I love your recipes... this one... not so much.
You literally posted this just as I was wondering how to make tortilla soup. Did this and it was amazing. Added a few of your favorite spices. Best meal in awhile. Thanks guys!

Roast a whole chicken and shred it.
Bake your own tortilla strips.
Chop up an avocado.
Pour your soup from a jar.
It’s like watching a hungover cooking show where the chef gives up at the end.
This would probably be a really dope meal prep with some rice. Might just do that.
We have tacos planned but I was literally wondering how many tortillas we actually have. Was thinking about doing a casserole I used to make years ago, and then there’s Sam to the rescue!!
Don't fuck with taco night

Yep, this was a hit. Needed a quick little something for a date night and we both loved it. Thanks Sam! You're making me look real good.
Looks mighty good. I don’t think a big dollop of sour cream would hurt either!!!
Exactly what I was thinking 🙂
Noooooooo!
@@RatFink-nr5td C'mon, you know you want to 😆
@@DerekBolli Nope, growing up in New Mexico, we don't do a dollop of sour cream on anything.

Wow looks so ez Tried the crab Rangoon my wife and I loved it in fact the wife was over the moon with it

I love this soup one of my faves I like to add black beans and corn to mine great video as always
So damn good. Made it last nite. Gonna be made a lot.. but with cheese on top!
Love it!!! Instead of a taco bar, we do the tortilla soup bar . Bowls of rice , beans, shredded cheese, Costco chicken, etc., and everyone creates their own. Happy Cinco de mayo Sam and boys ✌️ and don’t forget the cocktails 😊
This is a perfect quick meal while I watch the NFL draft... Thank you! 😎😀😎
Come on Sam as a Canadian, you know that no Canadian has ever said aboot

Freeballin' in the kitchen is the only way to go!!!
Freeballin is Freestylin 🤘🏼
Do the 5 air fryer thing. That'd be great for sprouting ideas in my head.
I have done homemade steak fingers in my air fryer and they were amazing and super tasty so this is my suggestion for one of your 5 air fryer dinners
I love using Goya Sazo'n seasoning for chicken tortilla soup. Made for it
5 air fryer dinners !!! 🔥🔥🔥

Nice one Sam !

Wow! Always check out Sam, but I just bought a Helix midnight mattress. Apparently I take all advice to heart from you guys.
this has to easily be the worst thing I've ever seen on this channel lol. Chunky salsa as soup?!? no wayyyy
Yummy I love tortilla soup. Can’t wait to try your style
Loved this video Sam and Max and Chance.
I am definitely trying this one! Love having some lighter options, how about a chicken enchilada soup?
I’ve been waiting for you to make a tortilla soup video!! When I make mine I let it simmer a while 💕
What watch do you mainly wear???
May have to throw this together after picking up a Costco rotisserie chicken. Using Salsa is nice time saver but i may make the soup from scratch.
Definitely do a string if Air fryer recipes.
Yes to air flyer dinners please 🙏!!
Oh man, clicking play to pass mad judgement on this. My ct soup > *
Air Fryer ideas: Chicken wings, pork tenderloin, pork chops,, fresh cut fries, baked potatoes 😉
Baked potatoes are best in the air fyer also. Coat in a little olive oil, kosher salt at 380 for 40 minutes. Just like a steakhouse baked potatoe.
Absolutely do 5 air fryer dinner videos! I'd actually watch yours not like these other videos that pop up.
Here's an idea for a dish. Leftover smoke brisket beef stroganoff!
I think this is the healthiest recipe you've ever posted we'll at least this year
It looks delicious 😋
Yes yes yes please do like 10 air fryer meals 😋.
I have to try this recipe!!
Does Sam have a receipt for a split pea soup? I have a leftover ham bone from Easter and I want to make a good soup with it.
What air fryer are you using? I'm looking for an air fryer that can cook a whole chicken.
More air fryer dinners please
sliced Brussel sprouts and crispy bacon put some olive oil garlic salt and pepper in the air fryer hell yeah
You should do hibachi for an episode like a hibachi restaurant on the Evo! Fried rice with hibachi chicken and steak. Maybe shrimp. Yum!
You could go all air fryer all the time and I'd be happy. Its my go to for just about everything. Gonna try air fryer lasagna this weekend..
Loved it!
Nice appetiser dude! What’s for the main?
Love my air fryer..please do more recipes
Woot! My first time as the first viewer on anything is gonna be my dinner this weekend!
MAKE TACO BELL NACHO FRIES PLEASE‼️‼️‼️
