    Thank you!! Just got an '05 roadstar from my father in law. Trying to get it running and worked the issue to the carburetor. Tried taking it off but couldnt get it fully disconnected.
    This video showed me how to disconnect what I couldn't!!

    I have an '04 1700 that has been standing for 2 years (near the sea) and won't start. I think (hope) that it is only the carburetor that needs cleaning. Your video is great, really makes it look easy. Thanks a lot.

    Great step by step video! I’ve been needing to do this for a long time. I appreciate you taking the time to put this together. I’ve got a 2000 that I’ve had tons of carb issues with and it’s time for a complete rebuild. Hope you’re doing well and still tinkering with bikes!!

    This is great, man. I have an '06 1700 and it looks to be about the same, so I'm "goin' in". You get extra points for being able to disconnect the connectors one-handed, bro. I'd definitely need a tripod for the camera/phone to free up the other hand. Nicely done.

    Do you think its possible to do a tank lift without much trouble on these road stars? It looks like the front sits on some kind of frame tabs or something?

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  5 лет назад +2

      if I understand correctly you like to permanently lift your gas tank higher ... it is difficult to do on this bike.... mainly because the ignition switch is integrated with the speedometer and you would have to do a lot of fabrication to make it happen so it's not impossible but it's not easy

    How do u take off shifter on a road star 1600

    • @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs
      @DoityourselfMotorcyclerepairs  4 года назад +1

      if I remember correctly you need to remove the assembly that holds the shifter with the floorboard ....two large bolts on the frame below the floorboard....and then you can remove the shifter. Thank you for your interest and please subscribe it will help me out 😊

    Carbs can be a pain, but RS owners should be thankful to Yamaha that the bike only has ONE carburetor. Just imagine Honda Valkyrie owners needing to maintain SIX carbs!! 🥺
