Killer Mike is undoubtedly a much better all time artist than Travis, especially considering his RTJ work, but I do think that Utopia was slightly better. Either way, from the nominations, Nas deserved it for KD3, and overall, STH by Peggy and Danny was album of the year.
Ok but compare the monthly listeners to each other and then give me an answer. In my opinion Metro Should have won it for Heroes and Villains over a guy who hardly anyone hears. Regardless of Killer Mikes skill he still just isn’t popular and that is for a reason.
Ok but you can’t deny someone who had the number 1 billboard album and someone who has almost the most monthly listeners across all platforms. All this proved is how political the grammy’s are.
@@powertale7164 ok so your saying that what the people love shouldn’t be awarded but when it come down to talent and people just don’t like his music it should be rewarded. If nobody listens to it what is the point of it
nah killer mike is fire and Michael was amazing but utopia was better if we take everything into account. An album of the year isn't something that is just good rapping, or production, or somethings else, its when all of it accumulates into a cohesive project.
It’s the same thing that happened with NAS , Killer mike and NAS both deserved a Grammy 10+ years ago but the Grammys are now just giving them one when this ain’t their best work
Killer Mike did features with OutKast back in the day if you want more of him and something new check that out. Every OutKast album is Amazing. Also Run the Jewels for that matter. Wouldn’t hurt to listen to other rappers that don’t get major mainstream recognition like Conway the Machine, Black Thought, and Freddie Gibbs (prob mainstream but I love him). If you want anything else from 2023, I also recommend Scaring the Hoes, from JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown. If you enjoy the experimental genre like that, go more extreme because STH is far more tame than something like Atrocity Exhibition also from Danny, and maybe Veteran from JPEG.
@@hugzio21 I had listened to OutKast before, in features and things, but goddamn they're good! I've gotten a few songs into Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik and it's *good* - It sounds so... contemporary for 94
Not sure if you know their stuff but I would recommend 3. Anything from Black Thought, Method Man and A Tribe Called Quest. Some of my favourite from listening to rap with friends and some of my family

But you probably part of the same group that got mad and called the Grammys a popularity contest when cardi b and Macklemore won

Popularity = good is the dumbest fucking stat of all time.
