Who am I?
I am the honest vocal coach! I have been teaching for 16 years and been singing since I was 17. I teach from my own studio and via Skype. I specialise in teaching children, and teenagers pop and musical theatre but I am trained in all genres of music. I have studied every voice technique there is, including Speech Level Singing, Estill, Bel Canto, Robert Lunte, London College of Music, ABRSM, Ria Keen, Kim Chandler, Stevie Van Lange and many more. Federico Raggio Mariah can never do staccatos, subito pocos, transitions, and messa di voces as precise and as accurate than the likes of Beyoncé and SoHyang. Beyonce having different approaches on notes whilst maintaining support up to E5 consistently speaks volumes of her control. Mariah is only better at legato phrasing but even in that SoHyang is arguably better in legatos.

In her prime definately. There was literally (and this is true today on a good day) nothing that Mariah couldnt do, she had every register and she was one of the best in every single register (including head voice which is extremely underrated), and has probably the best agility

What I really love about this is noticing how natural it is for Mariah vs Beyonce having incredible scaling techniques. Beyonces voice has always been strong to me if anything id compare her to Whitney instead of Mariah
check Mariahs live performances from 1990-1996 where she sings far from the mic but still outsinging choirs etc. Mariah has a huge voice, especially in her mid belts e.g. I cant LIIIVE if living is without you, etc. She has many qualities of her voice so she doesnt always go for powerful belting, but that doesnt mean she cant sound solid, strong, powerful...even Whitney the Voice was intimidated before they became friends, check If Its Over live or You need me or Theres gotta be a way :)

As a huge fan of both artists, i would choose the best notes for each artist. The owner of the video chose some of not-so-good Mariah's notes, and some of Bey's notes aren't good either. Making a comparison video means you have to showcase the best notes from each singer so that the comparison can go neck-to-neck. Especially star-rated vocalists like Mariah and Beyoncé, whose vocal abilities are unmatched.

I feel like Mariah has such a beautiful natural tone. Beyoncé is a wonderful singer, she has been beautifully trained.
Beyonce is in her vocal prime right now. Mariah was in the 94. Right now in 2019 beyonce is a more consistent vocalist, but if we compare prime beyonce vs prime mariah i think mariah win. Both are amazing vocalist with really strong technique, but I think prime mariah is unmatched. And the fact that mariah in 2018 (as some clips) can battle with a young beyounce says a lot to me.

Honestly I think Mariah has more raw and pure talent, where as Beyoncé was trained to to be able to control her voice. And that took years. Bc if you listen to Beyoncé old music and love performances, she was literally all over the place.

That isn't true AT ALL. Yes, Beyoncé is a trained vocalist but that only makes up for 70-80% of why she's such a good vocalist. Even if she were trained, she wouldn't be able to sing like how she does if she didn't have some amount of talent.

It is not crazy to compare them, both are vocal virtuosos… except one was able to keep her voice up throughout the years. The only iffy thing is comparing a soprano to a mezzo-soprano
There's so much more reverb on the mic when Beyonce sings... kind of confuses me a little because I'm not sure exactly what I'm hearing.
I loved this comparison there both amazing vocalist. I see lots of people say this video clips was sway3d more towards beyonce but yeh I think there are way more videos of beyonce that were better then these so I think it just depends. Also I hate that people get so triggered when beyonce proves she is just as great as Mariah or Whitney or Aretha or whoever it may be because she never gets enough credit.

One thing you can't teach: beautiful unique tone. Mariah's tone is more crisp and ROUND after D5. Beyonce sounds shrill and screechy, her tone is irritating. Plus Beyonce used a tone of reverb in a lot of clips to improve her power and resonance.

I really get frustaded when I see the comments, it's one thing expressing your opinion in who you like the most, but don't be mean towards either Mirah or beyoncé. They are both two of the best vocalists in history. It's totally okay to have a favourite and an opinion but keep it classy, right? In m opinion, I love them both they have the best voices ever (to me), although I do like Beyoncé more but that's just a personal prefrence :)
