As a veteran in the fire service!!! Constructive criticism is a good thing !!! We can all learn something from this video!!! First of all these agencies need to start training together I can see this is a mutual aid incident!!!! It doesn’t make any sense to have that ladder that straight up in the air that’s steep!!! Why place your firefighters in great danger that high up in the air!!! of course we can still raise up the aerial ladder, but there is a much safer way of angle approach!!!! Let’s prevent an injury or a fatality!!!! Let’s start training let’s start understanding the basics in water supply operations, and overall training together as mutual aid agencies here!!!! I’m not trying to badmouth these fire department, but they truly need to work together and understand the basics!!!! God bless everyone stay safe out there!!!! We are here for the people we serve the people, and we have to ensure we are professionals at all times on duty and off duty✌️✌️✌️✌️
I totally agree!!! Almost all California fire departments are hiring these new firefighters I don’t know what a Phillips screwdriver is anymore!!!! It’s the truth !!!! I see it firsthand these new recruits. Don’t know how to work anymore. Do you have the phone by the mouth? It’s like kindergarten with a badge!!!! it’s ridiculous!!!!
We did mandatory training for truck companies that included 4 minute drills….4 minutes to get ladder raised and in operation on activation of parking brake
I've been a firefighter for 20yrs this was really bad the house burned down before they got there sh.t together someone would have to go back to training in my company
I never knew there was such a thing as Keystone Firemen. They finally listened to me yelling "VIAGRA...VIAGRA...PUT VIAGRA IN THE TANK!! Eventually the ladder went up and...
It looks like to me that the fire is half out and under control ,while the latter truck is trying to get the water going and someone said and I agree the latter is too high up it should be about half that high . The might as well bring the latter back down and not use it it looks kie the fire is mainly out apparently these guys don't know completely what they are doing !. I'm so sorry I had to say that but it's true .
Wow. As an ex-fire fighter this is wild to watch. At this point why bother w/aerial stream. 🤔 I don't care for the added water line, plumbed the way to go
Look closely when they raise the stick - it has a plumber waterway with an automatic nozzle. I don't understand why they stretched a pipe or didn't call for a truck with a serviceable pre- plumbed waterway. Even FDNY swaps out their trucks for towers if they want an aerial master stream.
Wow, this took way too long to get in operation. Partly maybe because they don't practice engough, And I get the feeling that there is also little communication and command structure. of Normally when the truck is stabilised, it should take 1 minute to get the ladder up, 1 minute to get someone in top. At the moment the ladder arrives the other fire fighters already have the hoses in place and pressure on. We now also see here the disadvantage of the ladder compared to the telescopic boom lift. the telescopic boom lift is faster, more manoeuvrable and much quicker in action. Moreover, it is safer for the firefighter. But as long as the ladder is in action, practice! But it is also fair to say; the 'best steersmen are on shore'
Over 18 minutes until water came? Definitely far too long. The house must have already burned down by the time the ladder was up and water came. And why sooo high? Aren't there baskets on the ladders in America that the firefighters can stand in and work safely? That looks extremely dangerous.
#1 what's the dude going to do who isn't in full turn out gear walking around with the radio? What is he going to do if a firefighter puts out a "help call?" #2 These guys have one job to do and one job only - put the wet stuff on the red stuff, and they couldn't even execute that task? Wow! #3 Why would they fully extend the stick on a single story structure and have a firefighter risk his life to climb to the top when the fire is 90 % contained?
Wow, obviously these guys need a lot of training, the Lieutenant and captain need to step it up if they call themselves leaders, time to get out of the day room!
Excelentes camiones pero en ocasiones recurso inecesario, personal en tierra ya habia controlado la situación y casi 20 minutos para instalar y empezar a trabajar lo hace un recurso no viable, al menos en ese tipo de servicio
Wondering why the engine didn't reverse last from the serial to the plug, why they hand-jacked 5" supply line as it is not designed to service an aerial master steam (maximum operating pressure on 5" is 200 psi - you're near that limit on 100' ladder, internal friction loss, and the operating pressure of the alliance), and why a hand line wasn't simply stretched over the wall? They seemed to figure the 5" pressure problem out before disaster struck there and hand- jack a 2.5", then realize that wouldn't supply the volume and then stretched another 2.5". That full extension and climb angle was stupid and dangerous - especially with no fold-down steps at the tip for better footing when the line is charged (even if he did snap in). Where was the crew from the staged apparatus - watching? Just astonished and dismayed at this from a Class 1 accredited fire department. Above all, did my eyes deceive me, or did that truck have a plumbed waterway and automatic nozzle (watch when they first lift it out of the cradle)?
Plenty of 4"-5" hose nowadays (especially the double jacket stuff they're using) is rated for supply as well as attack, with a 300psi service pressure. I was definitely also wondering what was up with not using the pre-plumbed waterway, though.
Okay I thought the idea was to attack the fire from an aerial approach BEFORE it burns out on it’s own! Lol. And that steep angle of the ladder… WHY??? 20 minutes without a single drop of water on that fire…omg…
Wow incredible on how long it took them to start putting water on the fire..Pleased it wasn’t my house.these guys looked like they didn’t have much idea
These fire brigades are a waste of taxpayer money. Absolutely ridiculous that it took over 18 minutes for the first dribble of water anwhy even bother the other units already had the fire under control.
Was this a joke? Didnt know what they wanted to do but whats worse is they didnt do anything but look like bafoons with a new toy. You guys need training and drilling and lots of it or someone is going get injured.
Everything in this video pissed me off! Worst ladder ops I've ever seen. Engine was there to supply the bendy straw, hit a hydrant on the way in so ya don't have to look like a bunch of clowns stretching hose. A good training video of what not to do I suppose!.
I laugh every time I see. These jokers out in California with their ropes and running hose up the ladder. Pre plumbed waterways work all over the country, but not in California.😅
Schickt die Leute zur Ausbildung nach Europa... da ist das Haus komplett abgebrannt bevor auch nur ein einziger Tropfen Wasser den Brandort erreicht?! sorry, das ist einfach nur.... lächerlich.
It's just ridiculous. By the time they start operation everything is finished. Sophisticated arrangements but very lackadaisical approach . Practically just useless.
As a veteran in the fire service!!!

Если мозгов нет, то и учить бесполезно. Оператор видит очаг, видит радиус лестницы, но все равно выдвигает ее на всю длину. Это кретинизм.
By the time they got the aerial into action the fire was just about out. got to be a better way to deploy and get that thing into action.
Taking way too much time getting aerial operation into service??? Ridiculous! 20 minutes to get water out the pipe 😕😕😕
Why did it take so long before they got that ladder pipe set up
I totally agree!!! Almost all California fire departments are hiring these new firefighters I don’t know what a Phillips screwdriver is anymore!!!!

18:57 video only 57 seconds of water from the ladder. 18 minutes of set up. Wow.
We did mandatory training for truck companies that included 4 minute drills….4 minutes to get ladder raised and in operation on activation of parking brake
as a retired firefighter this is painful to watch.....maybe the truck company has never done this before.....
Wow. That was hard to watch...
Yes it was. This dept. needs practice. It took over 15 minutes to get water on the fire.
Se fosse casa loro. .. Sai come avrebbero fretta ..questi non fanno corsi di aggiornamento sino lenti come tartarughe...
I've been a firefighter for 20yrs this was really bad the house burned down before they got there sh.t together someone would have to go back to training in my company
The TDA has a plumbed waterway. Why add a master stream on top of that?
At least you placed it well outside of the collapse zone. 👍
It looks like it is taking a long time to get that ladder in the air
Ya think?
I never knew there was such a thing as Keystone Firemen.
They finally listened to me yelling "VIAGRA...VIAGRA...PUT VIAGRA IN THE TANK!! Eventually the ladder went up and...
WOW. Dude, you did get the money shot 😂
Nice catch 👍🏻
Once again. Too little ,too late ,and a waste of time. The fire is probably under control by the time they finally get that thing up.
I know, let's park far away from the fire so we can use our long hoses!
Was 100 feet in the air really necessary?
It looks like to me that the fire is half out and under control ,while the latter truck is trying to get the water going and someone said and I agree the latter is too high up it should be about half that high . Training....,maybe....
What a waste of time trying to put ladder up. Smoke is all white and fire under control.
Adesso da la sopra può anche pisciare ...
Well the house was gone before they used their water. Wooden houses and slow firefighting. Not a good combination.
Eighteen minutes to setup aerial and get water flowing? Doesn’t get much slower than that.
Yikes. What did I just watch?
I don’t understand why they used the ladder pipe, when the ladder is pre-piped.
NICE VIDEO
Thanks
Good footage, anyway. Thanks.
Must be an old truck using a rope to move the nozzle.

Get a stop watch how long does it take to set up...this in no way disrespectful

Pretty old style ladder truck, if one has to go all the way up the ladder to control the nozzle.
So,was this just a training exercise? It sure looked like it.

Take your time guys the fire will still be there whenever your ready.
Lol
Keep in mind that this is California they do things in a strange way sometimes.
sure they are fire man
Ladder truck can go back home now
Okay I thought the idea was to attack the fire from an aerial approach BEFORE it burns out on it’s own! Lol. And that steep angle of the ladder… WHY??? 20 minutes without a single drop of water on that fire…omg…
The fire man who is climbing to its ladder is not smart
Slowest truck operations I've seen in years, terrible

The house was completely fired. What is the benefit of this fire force? 👺 Shame, Shame.
guess the house did not belong to anyone important, like the Mayor, Fire Chief, or police Chief!
Perché non saliva Prima dentro il cestello...sono troppo lenti...ci vogliono Due ore prima che si preparano ......
18 minutes...........Long.....très long .......trop long!!!!!!!!!!!!!
За это время подготовки только осталось залить головешки..,. 😂😂😂
J espère que nos pompiers française soit plus rapide c est incroyable
Was this a joke? Didnt know what they wanted to do but whats worse is they didnt do anything but look like bafoons with a new toy. You guys need training and drilling and lots of it or someone is going get injured.
when they have finished half of USA has burnt
Maybe a little more training is in order. Or maybe THAT WAS the training.
Too Damn Ole fashion setting up a tiller it should be Pre pipe

A good training video of what not to do I suppose!.
wie kein MannKorb bei der leiter ??? komisch , sowas kenne ich aus deutschland nicht
This system of fire brigade is not necessary let them used this as toys in their own home for children
Firemen training again not perfect, i am 25 years service fireman
In Europe they would have done this in one tenth the time.
Sorry guys, but this is way too slow. 🙁
I dont understand. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great job by CFD

Climbing the ladder for what? Dangerous and waste of energy
Slow, tooo slow

У американских пожарных сильный только профсоюз. 20 !!! Минут разворачивать лестницу. Толстобрюхие еле шевелятся.
The house has probably burned to the ground by the time these yahoo get water going.
