Just beat this. Damn, what an awesome game. The enemy and stage designs in the final level felt straight out of H.R. Giger's mind. I'm always impressed with how fast SNES Drunk can finish games. Sure this game wasn't long or particularly hard, but it still took me a couple days to get through. Well worth the time too!
My attitude is that ripping off one thing is bad, but if you rip off at least two different things and make the elements you stole work together, you've come back around to being creative again.
Anyone who played this game can remember the grunts when the characters attack, which also play during the background music. The music is so catchy, too!
there was also a strider released on the nes. the nes game was later also released on gba in the in capcom classics mini mix along with bionic commando and mighty final fight
I recommend this game, it’s really fun, especially if you’re a fan of the Strider series. Most people who know about this game would most likely be Strider fans themselves, but this game is criminally underrated. I’d say pick up a copy and pop it in your ol’ SNES.
Very nice game. I remember as I bought this game in the nineties. Yes, the graphic is weak in compare to other SNES games. But I think the game has an very interesting leveldesign. It was one of my favourite SNES-games back then :)
I going go ahead say it but i prefer alot older games over more modern ones due to simplicity and plug and play get into it and able easy get out of it without devoting entire frigging life to it. like most all modern games require you to do on current next gen platforms.
you are actually wrong. older games were TERRIBLY difficult and required hours to master. today's games are far better geared to casual gamers especially adults who just want to have fun and enjoy the experience. you meant to say games that are simple fun plug and play rather than games from the past. what i personally hate about modern games is the damn menus and loading. i just wanna press start key (like castlevania's title screen says on the nes) and play. leave me alone. stop bugging me ala google's message when they bother you.
Not all of the old games are terribly difficult even tho a ton of them had really limited lifes and continues they were fun. Modern games are hit or miss honestly,Too much trying to cash in like the generic beat-em-ups from the 90s with not many really unique games,Way too forgiving to the point that even the shittiest players would be able to finish them at some point and the nerve to go for "realistic" when it just comes off as restricting for no reason and bland and every modern game these days has to have a multiplayer mode filled with rea;;y bpring modes with purchasable DLCS and In-game purchases with a shitty price.
The license has belonged to SEGA since the takeover of ATLUS, it would be great if he remembered it to be able to use the license or even release it on SWITCH.
I’ve actually played this game and honestly, it deserves a remaster, or sequels. Also, I hope Capcom one day buys the rights to the game and officially makes it part of the Strider franchise.
no, super turrican came out around the same time as this game. also, while super metroid came out after this game, the screw attack was in earlier metroid games too.
Wow. I didn't know this game was Uber expensive nowadays. But I did see repros for 15-20 bux so that's good. I don't mind those. To hell with paying 300-1000 dollars for a game when you can pay 20 bux!
I don't think Raskolnikov felt guilty at all. I think his narcissus made him commit the crime and the gravity of what he did put him into a feverish stupor but his disgust was still with himself (again his narcissus). His own hero complex with Sonya fed his narcissus enough to give him relief for his self-loathing and enough to snap him out of it.
Sure this game is kind of a Strider ripoff, but not completely. It has a darker feel, and the music is totally in its own league. I LOVE the moody neon synths of the Hong Kong stage. The enemy design is also imaginative. That Stage 3 boss still freaks me out!! All in all, it's a solid game with a perfectly tuned difficulty. Call it Strider 1.5. Sure beats that piece of crap Strider Returns.
no you weren't wrong. strider was indeed exclusive to genesis vs. snes which sadly did not get this capcom masterpiece. yes it came out on cd for turbo-grafx 16 as well as on playstation 1 (the strider 2 game had it). it also came out on other next gen systems but back then, if you had a super nes or genesis, you needed genesis to enjoy it.
*goes into an innocent and fun SNES review, expecting to be entertained for 3min* *exits with gut-wrenching guilt and depressing, distopian, existential angst* And all of this for less then a second of SNES-Drunk.
Just found this. My new fav channel there should be (___)drunk for all the good consoles

I love what you do. I hope you get more attention. Solid voice over; too the point; all around well done.
Keep going off track. For some reason in all your videos, the candid random thoughts are my favorites.

I always thought this was a Strider sequel back then. ^^;
there was also a strider released on the nes. the nes game was later also released on gba in the in capcom classics mini mix along with bionic commando and mighty final fight

This game was pretty good, love the graphics, music, and gameplay.
the characters from this game are so cool, all of them deserves to be better known and to have more fan art.
Hi
I'm sure someone on DeviantArt drew pictures of them eating poop.
Very nice game. I remember as I bought this game in the nineties.
Yes, the graphic is weak in compare to other SNES games.
But I think the game has an very interesting leveldesign. It was one of my favourite SNES-games back then :)
The graphics are weak? Compared to what? lol
Maybe Super Ghouls`n`Ghosts, Contar 3, Street Fighter II etc. ?
Or in generall most capcom or konami ganes.
The soundtrack is solid IMHO.
The story is similar 2007 I Am Legend with Will Smith. Scientist makes cure that changes one in Zombie type creatures or mutants in this case.
exactly what i thought haha
Looks really cool, this just made my wants list.

I see your point, I prefer both "old" Games & Modern games of today.
I hate all the log into your account thing to see all your friends activity kind of stuff in newer games.
Not all of the old games are terribly difficult even tho a ton of them had really limited lifes and continues they were fun.

if you think that then you clearly haven't been keeping up with nintendo. they're still making the exact kinds of games you're looking for.
nice, yet another one i've heard of but haven't put much effort into really looking for, looks like a good time though
this sucker costs a pretty penny on ebay as of feb 2018. i think it was more affordable 3 years ago when you made this comment back in 2015.
Contra and Metroid? Unlikely, Now just wondered how Strider use Arcade style for SNES.
Yes, recommend Run Saber as main game.
I played through Run Saber on real hardware several times back when I was a teen.
I always saw this game as one of my guilty pleasures in the past as I never heard anyone talk about it. I do wish there were a few more levels.
The license has belonged to SEGA since the takeover of ATLUS, it would be great if he remembered it to be able to use the license or even release it on SWITCH.
Typical (but cool) late 80s/early 90s dystopian future scenario, just how I like it.
Your idea about the scientist reminds me of a couple episodes from Stargate actually.
"Oh ya know" @ 0:43. Your northern is showing.
If you like this there is also, Osman/Cannon Dancer (arcade) also very much like Strider
1:43 shinobi arcade game by sega from 1987, ninja magic! hadiyaaaa!!!
Awesome !! Love Run Saber so much !! ツ
One of my FAVORITE GAMES!!!
I loved this too. Bought it and loved it
I remember renting this a few times as a kid and not enjoying it. I don't recall why but maybe it was because the length.
1:50 I guess the basic premise in Snow Piercer came from this video game. 🤔
"It's good fun", well... I think that wraps it up. That's enough to make me want to play it
I’ve actually played this game and honestly, it deserves a remaster, or sequels. Also, I hope Capcom one day buys the rights to the game and officially makes it part of the Strider franchise.
Super Metroid and Super Turrican came out one year after this game.
no, super turrican came out around the same time as this game. also, while super metroid came out after this game, the screw attack was in earlier metroid games too.
I would love a shirt of the zombie angel queen it's awesome
Wow. I didn't know this game was Uber expensive nowadays. But I did see repros for 15-20 bux so that's good. I don't mind those. To hell with paying 300-1000 dollars for a game when you can pay 20 bux!
I remember going over to my cousins house and he owned this game. It was so fun
Not a bad game at all, it sure is way better than Strider Returns for the Genesis!
I just wondered how strider is going to look like on the snes.
1:55 Sounds like Thomas Midgley, Jr, the guy who managed to invent both leaded gasoline and CFCs. Oops.
Where is your Samurai Showdown video?
*Shodown
This game is way too easy, but a lot of fun to play.
easy games = awesome. i HATE hard games especially as an adult with limited time and waning gaming skills due to age.
I can't help but relate everything Atlus makes with SMT
This game's aesthetics only reinforce my idea lol

How much does this game go for, cartridge only?
Making the antagonist one who created a plague by accident might be a bit too deep for under 6 MB.
damn i still know the music by heart..
The game‘s story isn’t too far away from being reality
Every year a little closer
@@KarlosEPM indeed brother

I always saw this game never rented it

Run Saber? I don't even run know her!
That's kinda the plot of Machinehead.
hey strider exclusive to Genesis? why did u say that?
Because I was wrong

I like short games
I thought this game was very boring. Only one move really....
It looks like it was meant to be an arcade game.
*goes into an innocent and fun SNES review, expecting to be entertained for 3min* *exits with gut-wrenching guilt and depressing, distopian, existential angst* And all of this for less then a second of SNES-Drunk.
Dare I say Run Saber is better than Strider?
We played this on our channel and got obliterated. My performance on it was voted worst platforming of 2017
Called run saber but doesn't run
Fun fact, its pretty much a Strider rip off because it was largely made by the guys who created Strider
130$ 2021
total strider ripoff...but maybe that's okay.
with some metroid and shinobi (1987 arcade) mixed in...
it is, and I'm okay with that,
