@@lukeheigle494 well obviously you don’t have a clue about what a 2 stroke is. That however doesn’t change my mind on what Cat motors you mentioned, ( none of which were 2 strokes ) are worth a shit in my opinion as I stated in my comment to you earlier. Keep truckin it up super trucker
Nice truck. In my early teens I used to go with my father Leigh when he worked for Nev an Jan Senior at the turn of the century. I haven't seen Nev or Jan for years
@@winchester37a they're known as "spider" rims over here in Australia. as long as you un seat the wedges before you remove the Lug nuts completely, then they are not dangerous at all. people often confuse these with split ring or split rims, but the rims are single piece steel rims and the tires are mounted just like regular 10 stud wheels.
@@jakeminogue there are also slit datons, I went to the junk yard to get some tires for it the other day and the only ones there were still on the truck and had split rims, I’m not gonna risk it
Coming in hot with the jake brake is one of the main reasons why I miss driving truck. So I never counted mileage and I never drove a Detroit very much but I have a question I'm about to buy a 1967 Kenworth with that same engine that you are running I'm just going to be hauling a rock crawler on the back of it and pulling a camp trailer. What do you think I might expect for fuel mileage?
if you're worried about fuel economy, A detroit may not be the engine for you! mileage is totally relative, depends on where you are, what you're pulling, the terrain, final drive ratios, how you drive it, what size injectors are in it ect. I don't know any figures, but ive found that mine tends to use less fuel if you rev it out a bit, it's much happier sitting at 1900-2000rpm than lugging back at 1500-1750rpm. I'm not trying to make a living with mine, so im more interested in smiles per gallon than miles per gallon 😉
@@OffroadMilitia my truck and trailer tare at 35,000 lbs and three tractors go close to that again, so im running quite a bit heavier than you will be!
@@jakeminogue Thanks for taking the time to respond. I haven't driven truck in years and I just found an old 1967 W900a with an 8v71. It has a sleeper and a long flatbed and is licensed as an RV. Gonna haul my rock crawler on the back and pull a camp trailer. .my old 1969 Chevy with a 396 big block only got 5mpg and Semis blew me all over the road hauling a huge homemade trailer I built from a Frehauf truck box. I cant afford a new desiel truck so I figure if I dont save money in fuel at least I will have a better rig for the job and wont have to camp in an old truck box
The sound that says, put the dinner on dad’s coming…
Underrated
"Coming in hot" is right. This driver IS a driver. Damn fine looking truck too.
Nothing today comes close to the sound of the old 2 strokes.
You got that right
Um, 3406? C15? C-15? C15 Acert? 6nz? 3408?
@@lukeheigle494 nope ! Not even close. The only two of those worth anything imo is the 6nz and 3406

I don't understand why so many people get upset by jake brake noise. I like the sound of that way more than I do of dickheads doing burnouts.
@Tone Jakes sound great on a Detroit, but on some newer engines they are just plain annoying. I don't know what it is.
I agree, at least a growling jake has a purpose unlike burning rubber
I have a Chevrolet Bison with the 8V71 Detroit and Jake's, and it much louder in person! Lol
Love the sound of Detroit diesel
Gosh, got to love the Aussie K100-G!
This is a 1976 K123, the K100G was much later, but yes, we love our cabover Kenworths!
Steering wheel on the wrong side 😂. How does it feel to drive upside down? God bless u my truck driving brothers 🎉
Beautiful music any way you hear it. I like it's original Dayton wheels. Don't need chrome or polished aluminum to have a great looking truck.

do you know Cronin
No name doesn't sound familiar.
Oh oh oh badd ass rig there driv'ah I subscribed way kool would Love to see more
That’s pure Maximum Overdrive sounds, there 🤌🏽
Nice to see a truck with daytons.
They don’t make them like they used to, I kinda like datons a little dangerous but not bad if you know what you’re doing
