Haven't ridden any of my bikes on a class B ramp before, but I get plenty of weird looks on D & C ramps... I lived in Manchester and CR for a while 15+ years ago, my wife is from CR and all her family still lives there. I try to take my bike when we visit the in-laws, ya'll are really spoiled with the Cedar Valley Nature trail and all other other paved trails scattered about eastern Iowa. Here in Idaho we have a couple short rail trails and an in city green belt -- the rest is chip sealed roads or single track mountain bike trails (which are awesome btw). excellent video as always.
Hi Zeb, yes, the Cedar Valley Nature trail is great. And it is still being expanded, already paved to Center Point going north, and the extension from Ely to Solon is nearing completion. Regards, Martin
Realy likes your flights on and of big airfields with coms! I was in my 20:s TC assistance in the military. So I did a lot of flightplans . It was at F17 in Sweden and mostly SAAB Lansen that flow there! Now when you landed at Tampa, you cycled with a headcamera! Im also a cyclist so where could I see your cycling wideos! Björn

Great Video Martin, We lived in Tampa for 3 years while stationed at MacDill AFB. The weather does not seem to have changed much. Can't say I miss it. Glad to live in the Great State of Texas now.
Hi Martin! Fantastic video as always! I always love your editing with split screens and iPad overlays. Even though your videos are not officially training videos, I gain a lot by watching them. I'm coming along in my flight training, at least as fast as my wallet will allow (at about 16 hrs now). I'm also a cyclist and ride approx 30 to 50mi a week. If you ever want to do any cycling down in Jacksonville Fl, hit me up and we can ride down the Baldwin trail. It's about 31 mi going to the end and back. Herlong Recreational Airport and Cecil Airport are not far from the train. Happy flying and stay safe.
Very nicely done! When flying into major airports such as TPA, there is no margin for error due to the high traffic volume. You are with the "BIG BOYS" at a major airport! I would have to guess they don't see many Bonanzas at TPA!
You know, when I land at a Class Bravo airport, more often than not there's at least one other piston aircraft on the ramp, sometimes even several - and often a light single, like a Cessna 172. So it seems I'm not the only one with an interest in these large airports. Regards, Martin

Hey Mike - great to hear from you! The Airbus is visible, but barely. You can see it at 11:37, when it crosses right over that one larger, straight road at the 11 o'clock position. I thought about putting a marker on it, but it's so small even a marker would have not made it very clear. It's going to dip down below freezing here in Iowa this week. I am personally very comfortable with either orientation; for the iPad (sectional or approach charts) I normally choose north -up just so I can read the text better. But hey, whatever works for the individual pilot is what should be used. Also, on the Garmin 530 I use the track-up map. Regards, Martin

Thanks for the encouraging words! regarding the headset, it's called Halo and made by Quiet Technologies. Very light weight, no pressure on the ears. I originally bought it because it gives me an extra inch of headroom (I'm tall), and have really come to like it over the years. Not quite as much noise attenuation as the top-end Bose headsets, but more than good enough, and of course a fraction of the price. The one thing I sometimes struggle with is to keep the microphone in the right place.

I have tried different mounting positions for a camera that captures the instruments. I haven't found one that I'm really happy with. Between vibration, distortion from a side angle, and glare from the sunlight, it's a tough job. I wish there was an easy solution... Regards, Martin

Question about landing long on 19L, on the airport diagram it shows LAHSO at runway intersection, was the ok to pass that intersection his instruction to turn on Sierra or was lahso not an issue regardless? Just curious and learning.
Based on the ATIS Martin played at the start of the video, it doesn't appear they were doing LAHSO operations at the time. Also, they didn't give a LAHSO clearance.
I have a Specialized Tricross. I don't do racing or anything that requires a real road bike, to the Tricross works well on pavement but also keeps me going on the occasional gravel trail. I've had this bike for ten years now, and still like it a lot. I estimate I put around 1,500 miles on it per year on average. - Martin

You can take a look on this guy channel, Mr Aviation 101. He use a lot of cameras, one of them is mounted on the aircraft roof.
You could have landed at Clwr/St. Pete Intl or Albert Whitted and have been much closer.
