Really nice build, I put the 2rzfe throttle body, colder ngk plugs, custom brass intake pipe, smoothed the air box & changed its direction so its straight through and added a trumpet, added the RS vvti actuator, I have also put the egr intake plate from the other version of the 1nzfe and jbwelded the holes to make my own junkyard intake spacer the "Comp" spacer?.I have installed the full subframe from the vitz RS so have the all round huge dics. Have also added the nst short shift, tanabe gforden axle back and shes an original low mile NZ new TRD car with body kit and full trd suspension. Got her on 15x7 roh zx deep dish wheels and some bfgoodrish advantage. She rips the gears and is a joy to drive currently. Thanx for the yari content!

Sounds like you have a nice one! I'd love to get the TRD parts! Please consider liking the video and subscribing to the channel if you haven't already. Thank you :)

Yo compeer your posts on the Yaris forums inspired me a while ago to try the Vitz RS VVTI solenoid (I did see a difference!), so I’m about to be like the second person ever to do your EGR “comp” spacer too :). Did you end up needing longer bolts or anything? Cheers!

Do you just plug the vvti solenoid in or do you have to get a tune ?

thanks for these vids man. Just did the 1zz throttle body and fuel injectors, short ram air intake, and ported intake manifold. P.S. I dremmel'd a hole in the same exact spot as you by accident haha. Used RTV black silicone sealant with a piece of gasket to fix that issue. Looking forward to seeing more progress on your slow-cart

I like the idea of a longer, straighter intake like you have with the spacer but wonder if there is a noticable benefit.
BTW, where would I find a Tooter spacer for the 1NZ-FE?

I'm sorry for just now responding, we should see a slight bump in power and torque with the spacer. Unfortunately the spacer is no longer in production from what I have seen.

I see, the AEM has a breather port. I have a 2005 Scion xB and did the DIY short ram intake where you have to mount a new battery in the Yaris orientation. However, there's now no breather port behind the MAF.

Your intake pipe may be different than mine. The AEM pipe only had 2 openings. 1 for the breather coming off the valve cover and 1 for the MAF sensor.

Hi again :) A pub quiz question with no right answers - do you reckon a custom manifold that was designed to improve the airflow is better, worse or about the same when compared to the setup on the video (a ported stock manifold + spacers)? I have a custom manifold and now wondering if I should consider a spacer. Great videos btw! Cheers :)

Unfortunately I really don't have the right answer. I haven't put any miles on this setup yet to know how good it is compared to stock. Also, from what I have found there is really only one aftermarket intake manifold available in the USA that I have found. It's metal and is actually for a Scion xB (04-06) but would need to be modified to work because the throttle body on the xB only has 3 bolt holes and the Yaris has 4. I have found one other aftermarket manifold for the Yaris that is a direct bolt up that is metal but I believe it would be coming from Malaysia and was quite pricey compared to my setup. I just figured I'd go this route for the time being since it was much cheaper and I didn't know what type of power gains a real aftermarket metal intake manifold would give me. Hopefully we see some decent gains with my setup. Unfortunately though from what I have found the Tooter intake manifold spacer is no longer in production so you may need to try and find a used one. Thanks for the kind words I appreciate it!

@@TheInteriorAutoMechanic Makes sense! I actually own an MK1 Yaris T-Sport and selection of manifolds is pretty decent. And vice versa - no manifold spacers in my neck of the woods. Thank you anyway!

I was able to find mine for sale on Facebook marketplace. You're going to have to do some searching to find one if you can even find one. They have been out of production for quite some time and they occasionally will pop up online for sale.

@@spannaproductions chances are that is where your issue is. If you add more air and don't add more fuel you run the chance of leaning out your air/fuel mixture. Best thing you can do is connect to your OBD2 port with a good scan tool that shows your A/F ratio and see how lean it is running. You could also have a vacuum leak somewhere causing this issue or weak/dirty fuel injectors.
