...actually Bobby James...with the tree in that condition, it definitely is a hazardous situation. Because the tree has grown on the gents property, and is easily identifiable as such...HE IS responsible for the costs of removing such hazard...he should be grateful that the woman undertook the cost of the removal. Had she notified the City and had inspectors come out, he would have been required under City code to have it removed and the cost would have been all his......
And you. Think. The roots. Do… what? Counterbalance the other tree? Please show your work. My structural and statics engineering courses didn’t cover this fantastic discovery of yours. Please explain how removing the top of an adjacent tree causes a root systems magic ability to cantilever a separate tree to suddenly disappear. It’s more likely the two tree were undermining each other’s balanced growth and removing one made things better, not worse. Not much better though. So when the other falls you magicians will still claims it’s because of removing the other tree. Sheer ignorance.
Look up anything about tree roots and be amazed by just how incredibly huge they are. There will be dozens of massive root systems down there all anchored to mother earth

I ended up getting a restraining and no trespass order on them. But the verbal abuse continued from the property line. So I put up a stockade fence. (That's a great story in itself) After a few years I ended up getting a job offer and moved to the country surrounded by a wildlife reservation. My old house was sold to a wonderful young family. these days people are just assholes, even when walking along side of someone in a store for a few seconds, people just tend to make it awkward when it's really nothing. No one is intentially trying to invade your space, it's just a shared moment in time so there's no need for the long face. I mean we all share these side by side moments all the time everyday. For example we all do it all the time in our vehicles when we are on the freeway. There could be a racist driving along side a thief who is driving along side a sextet who is driving along side an off duty cop who is driving along side a mother driving her children driving along side a man going to work, We all share that same shared space everyday without letting our personal views get in the way of the flow, but as soon as people get out of there vehicles and do the same thing when walking, there's always going to be some asshole who just has to be an asshole. Like I said, in these days People are just assholes, and they are assholes for no real reason but just to be an asshole.
It amazes me how people can live just feet away from each other but yet be so indifferent towards each other. It's like, You have to look at each other every day so, how does that work?

I hired people to remove 7 trees on my property after I bought my house. Trying to be a friendly neighbor and because it was on the property line, I offered to remove the tree at my own expense and he told me that he would sue me if it damages his house. The kicker was his house was abandoned due to total damage from a fire. I left the tree alone and a year later, he demolished his house. In the process, he knocked on my door and asked if I wanted to remove the tree and split the expense. I reminded him what he told me and closed the door. Ha! I also offered to pay 50% to cut 3 trees next to my house my neighbor planted 3 feet right next to our bedroom windows on property line. I think it was river birch trees. We lived in a neighborhood where the houses were close to each other. I offered to pay 50%. The roots began growing under my house and out the back yard. We couldn't even barely mow the yard without tripping on them. Then my house started cracking where the roots were growing in the bedroom. Then a limb fell and damaged my roof, not once but twice. She accepted my offer to pay 50%, finally 3 years later.. I was very patient with her. . I offered to find someone to cut the tree and she was adiment that she would do it and that was fine. A man arrived to give her a quote. It was evident they knew each other. . I was sitting on my back porch and he gave her a reasonable offer. Then she told him how terrible her neighbor was (me) and gave a sob story of her financial situation. She asked him to increase the quote and double it and when she got my 50%,it would be the amt of his original quote so she would not have to pay anything.. He agreed. Therefore I would be paying 100% of the bill . When I heard this, I learned how evil and crooked folks could be. She delivered the quote to me, and i told her when they are cut, call me and I will give 50% of his quote to her. When he was through, I gave him 50% of his original quote and told both of them that I heard their entire conversation. They were both in shock and silent. So she was still stuck with her half. Lesson learned. Many people are thieves and crooks..
The boat home owner is legally responsible for the removal of that hazardous tree. If the tree had broken in the storm and fell without warning or prior knowledge then that is a different situation. I've been an arborist for 40 plus years, and have been to court on several occasions with people like the boat guy. The court will not rule in boat guys favor because as a property owner, he is responsible for the safety and upkeep of his land, and anything that extends over the property line. Boat guy is a negligent dope and a lousy neighbor.
This is what I honestly can't comprehend - how can one's neighbor's tree that unexpectedly falls on your property (for example in a storm) end up being your own liability? I mean, said tree wasn't ever your property to begin with. Am I just dense, or too tired, I just don't understand. This from someone who just paid them big bucks to have eight dying pine trees along a property line taken down out of caution. Thanks for any insight here!
Some sharp lawyer could donate his services to the non-profit and sue the neighbor on her behalf for the full cost plus legal fees instead of half the cost of the removal as could have been negotiated with reasonable people. I'd love to see that happen.
The boat owner is probably so up to his eyeballs in debt the even though he knows the tree is his liability he can't afford to pay to have it taken down.
“I took down another tree.” So what? And he deliberately parks his boat right under the tree that he thinks is going to fall down. Not only that, the guy is such a clown that another tree service left and didn’t want to deal with him. Incredible.
More likely, he would rather deal with the hassle of a claim and everything instead of mildly alter his behavior, like someone who thinks he is less of a man for moving out of someone else’s way on a sidewalk.

In the question of "how much can a tree cost?", a formerly wooded lot next to our property was sold for development. The home owner at the front corner of our lot asked to cut down a "crappy tree" on our property, just in from the corner. He wanted it down because it was shading his soon-to-be front yard. We said absolutely not - this is a very old, very valuable tree and would not be touched. Just to be sure, we sent this in writing, by certified letter. He hired a tree company, told them it was his tree and had them remove it while we were out of town. It was a 100+ foot tall, five foot diameter BLACK WALNUT. Likely one of the largest remaining in Ohio. If you just eyeballed it, the tree was something like 11,000 board feet. At something like $5 to $10 a board foot. as in "something like $100,000. And they had LET THE TREE COMPANY HAVE THE TRUNK (because they were idiots). So...we got an emergency order to stop the tree company from selling the log, and sued the property owner. The judge was a country guy and went ballistic when he saw photos of the tree and copies of the letter (with signed receipts). He gave us triple damages at $90,000 valuation ($270,000) plus the tree company had to return the log to us, which we sold for $67,000 (it was actually over 12,000 BF, but the tree company had cut it into shorter logs. If it was in 30' sections it would have been over $100K). The property owners went bankrupt and had to move. so...not exactly common, but "the wrong tree" can cost you a lot.
What state do you live in. I'm in Pa. and we have that triple damage in our laws. I had a woman next door to me that had a chain link fence up and I hated it. I planted a row of arbs along it so I wouldn't have to see it. She came out one day with spray paint and said she was going to paint her fence. She sprayed my arbs also. I went to a lawyer friend of mine and he told me any damages would be tripled automatically. It was nice to hear.
that hurts me to read... Trees like that aren't something money can hardly even value; there's no getting a new one there without taking losses ecologically and financially across the board.. or waiting a century...
I guess the neighbour figured that once the tree was gone there might be some arguing but not much more. It clearly never entered their mind that the tree might be worth a lot in timber. Surpirised the tree company didn't cut it to maximise value, but they were getting paid twice anyway. Trees like that, the loggers pay you to remove it.

I gotta believe these types of neighbor to neighbor tree disputes happen all the time. Happened to me 20 years ago when a new neighbor moved in next door and demanded that I cut the branches from my huge oak tree that were overhanging his lot. I had done my homework on the issue and told him to feel free to trim whatever he wanted from the tree as long as it was over his property line but since the tree was not diseased or otherwise a danger, I was not obligated take care of or pay for the removal of branches hanging over his yard. He has someone come out to trim the branches and told the tree service company that I said it was OK to trim the branches all the way back to the trunk - 10 feet on my side of the property line. I of course disavowed them of that notion and they were aware of the local ordinances and laws and had no problem with it. they dropped a rope from the branch onto the marked property line below and then stayed 6" on the other side of that line on all the branches they trimmed. When the neighbor came home and saw what was (and was NOT) done, he had a fit. Eventually he sued me in small claims court in an attempt to get me to pay for the work. I have a neighbor with an obviously dying tree , it branches across and over my house. but if I remove the limbs over my property line there is still lots of weight that would make it fall my way, on my house. The neighbor is a jerk like the boat owner and wont let me pay to remove it and says it is fine. My arborist that trimmed everything but that tree because he was throwing a fit even about trimming to his property line. My arborist said it is dying and is a hazard and will fall someday. Is this something I could go to the city with and get the tree condemned? Which would make the tree owner responsible for the removal before damages? or if not removed responsible for the damage it causes? Cause I know if it falls on my house it is my damage ,my insurance and possibly my injury.
I can understand the neighbors concern. Recently our neighbor had a tree removed. The removal company asked if they could park the equipment in our yard to avoid their septic system. We agreed as we have been neighbors for 40 years and they are lovely people. The tree company completely ripped up our lawn, bounced a huge limb off our garage causing roof damage and bounced a large branch off our car causing $2500 in damage.

Agreed. As an over-the-road driver on occasion I had to put up with one. Once in Charlotte, NC, I had to back to dock from the street and some entitled woman thought I was going to stop so she could get by when I was a couple of feet from the sidewalk. I acted as if I didn't see her and kept going. She stopped. She only lost maybe 30 seconds.🤷🏼♂️ I had another one complain and I just stopped the truck, set the brakes, got out and told them they were welcome to do it for me. They turned around and walked off.
Call the town building inspector if the tree is fractured and windstorm damaged and it is in danger of falling onto your home or garage. Once you drag the building inspector into the issue more than likely the owner of the property where the tree sits will likely have to take down the entire tree. Not only could the tree owner be held financially liable if his clearly damaged tree falls down and damages your property, but the tree owners can also held 'Criminally Negligent' and fully responsible if the 'known' hazard that exists on their property causes physical harm to anyone.

They were just trying to get the rest of the tree removed at no cost to themselves. The moral of this is that you have to know what you are planting AND what it will grow into and do not plant trees that will get huge and brittle and fall on your neighbors property during a storm or when it eventually dies. The same goes for planting trees close to or under power lines. How many wide spread power failures are due to trees and their limbs.
@@Joseph70663 Insurance is what you buy in the hope you never need it. Insurance is not what you buy so you can be neglectful, careless, or just plain lazy and then have someone else pay for your neglectfulness, carelessness, or laziness. Insurance is for those things that you can do nothing about but happen anyway or acts of nature that you can not control. Where a tree is planted is in your control. If you did not plant the tree but ended up owning it, then you are responsible for it encroaching onto a neighbor's property and removing it if they declare they want the encroaching tree you own removed from their property. If you refuse to comply with your obligation then they can remove the part of your tree on their property and you can deal with the consequences. In this case, the neighbor was paying for the removal of the tree from their property and the owner, probably for a small amount extra, could have had the rest of the tree removed and everyone would have been happy. But just like a typical bad neighbor, he did not want to pay the cost of being responsible and was desperately trying to get the arborist to remove his part of the tree for free. I will bet dollars to donuts that this person will pout and blame his neighbor and the arborist for any damage that occurs to his property and be resentful and condemning.

Well done Kevin. The neighbor were really trying to press your buttons and bully you, but you held your ground and very politely stated facts, then went about your visit. If the other tree services talked to the neighbor they probably decided the hassle just isn't worth it. I'm saving this video for future reference.
You're right about the hassle. I work for an insurance co. One lady called up & teared me a new one. I told her, "This is really something that needs to be handled by your independent Agent." She said, "They told me they don't write for you anymore!" Yeh, 'cause you probably tore into them too & they decided you're not worth the trouble!
If his tree is causing an immediate hazard he is responsible for removing that hazard period ! If he doesn't and I'm forced to remove the hazard I would sue him for the cost or tell him to shut the blank up ! What the hell is the matter with people these days ! Take some responsibility people !
I have a lot of experience with this, and while regional laws do vary, in most parts of the country you would not be correct. Yes an owner is absolutely responsible for any part of a tree that that presents an obvious hazard to a neighbor if THAT PART of the tree is present on his own side of the property line. ANY part of a tree however that is present anywhere on the other side of the property line is the sole responsibility of the neighbor. You can take it to court, but in most of the country you would absolutely lose.

I would probably guess that his real issue underneath this attitude is that he does not like having a sober living establishment right next to his property. The way he presents himself comes across like a peacock fluffing up his feathers and strutting around like the lord of the manor or in this case the neighbourhood.
"I'm not trying to be difficult, BUT" He's being difficult. If it's on your property, then be grateful that your neighbors even did HALF of the work FOR your cheap ass. Seeing as this is a non-profit that's doing AWESOME work for men who're struggling with addiction, well, that's more than despicable in my opinion.
Had two pine trees on my property, they were hanging on my neighbors roof. They asked and I had them removed, because they were a hazard to their roof. The neighborly thing to do, much less the right thing to do.
Great job dealing with him. That looked really stressful dealing with that asshole, but you kept cool. You weren’t aggressive you were just assertive and confident in your work and the legality of the situation going above and beyond by explaining it clearly and simply. If it were me I’d have asked for a deal on the rest of the tree and how it would help us both out to take the whole thing right then and there rather than wasting time arguing.
The root originates on your property, you should be paying to take the tree down before it falls on the neighbor's garage. That's it. Period. The neighbor shouldn't even be paying for that. This guy is the biggest a-hole I've seen in a while. No honor. No sense of responsibility. No neighborliness.
Looking at the state of that tree with the giant crack in it, it is his responsibility to make it safe for his neighbour again. I can't believe he's argueing about it and even lettting his neighbour pay for his own tree...
Or you just do what i did and they did, chop down half their tree, because they have shitty neighbors. Told my neighbor their tree is pushing down are fence. He told me to f off. so i replaced the fence and cut his tree right down the property line. He tried to take me to court and was told he has no leg to stand on. Because i did the smart thing and got the state/county to give me the go a head.
Exactly! I don't care what the law says if it grew from my property, I would pay to have it removed. He know it can fall onto his neighbor's property and cause damage or even death.
Kudos for holding your line. I have my trees cared for yearly to avoid exactly this risk. Prevention is cheaper than cure. $800 a year is a bargain compared to a half-ton branch coming through my house or car. All about managing risks and looking at the big picture and not just the 90 days in front of a person
"So, I just want you guys to know that if this hazardous tree that I haven´t taken care of and my neighbor is paying to get removed from his side falls on my side and on the boat that I deliberately parked under it, then i´m going to be blaming you guys" -A Karen neighbor´s logic
Once you told me the back story I can see you have a heart, the guy was being a jackass and thats his problem, being in the construction business for many years myself I have had to deal with tons of amateur attorneys. Full of bluster but when the shit hits the fan they are nowhere to be found. I too have had addiction problems over the years and have worked with a sober living facility and thats a noble cause and you earned my respect. Thanks. People like him was the reason I needed a drink.
I used to own a tree service in California and the law stated that you could trim anything that hangs over the property line from a neighbors tree as long as you don't compromise the health of the tree. Also, homeowners insurance pays for damage caused by a tree according to where the branch falls if the tree breaks. In other words, if your neighbors tree falls onto your house, your insurance pays for the damage. It is based upon where the tree lands, not where it came from. Having said this, if a neighbor can be shown to have been negligent in caring for his tree and it fell on your property, you could sue and may prevail. This is really one tree growing from the same roots. The entire tree is junk.
I think you handled it appropriately. You corrected them, educated them and explained what you are going to do repeatedly. I don't have the patience that you do. Great work. You are buddah.
The history doesn't matter. The tree is broken and is endangering lives it has to come down. Simple done. If you like all the rest of the drama then that is up to you. The neighbor is just making noise. You informed him what was going to happen and if he didn't like it then so what. You should let the homeowners work it out. You were there to do a job.
The one who is actually responsible for this tree and didn't want to take care of the problem himself, as he should, should have never said anything, to anyone. He's the type that if and when he actually needs someone's help for whatever reason, no one will be there! From the looks of the damage done to the tree from the storm, it is no wonder it was standing. That's a blessing from God, it spared the non-profit the added expense for a garage...
Worse than Ken and Karen for neighbors is having a slum full of drunken Kens and Karens under a noisy pub. I eventually couldn't take it any more and moved towns to go live with a nature preserve on my one boundary line, reasonable neighbors both sides and no blasted pub or slum within five kilometers.
Handled it perfectly, obviously has a lot of practice dealing with these difficult people. I have a relative with a crazy psycho neighbour and it's so bad they had to move. I luckily have great neighbors who offered to pay half when we wanted to remove a large tree that was kind of on both our properties.
You explained this tree removal beautifully and did a fantastic job that a lot of experts would not take on the hastle. You are great arborists and a true joy to watch.
I'm a landscaper and I feel your pain. I've had to deal with so many customers neighbors it's not funny. I'm actually currently dealing with a neighbor of my own because I'm putting in a shed and he's trying to put the screws to me by saying that I am putting my shed in the right of way between our properties. I've measured property line to property line done the GPS coordinations and I am exactly 7 in away from the right of way. But just for the sake of being neighborly I moved it over another foot. Some people, I tell you you just can't win for losing with them.
He's an idiot. If the tree falls and damages the property and he's already been notified of the hazard, he is 100% liable for the damages. Removing HIS tree was simply a gift to him. Must be new to owning a home.
And they certainly couldn’t stop me from removing a know hazard. Here’s how it finished 18 months later ruclips.net/video/TASyNcK7HcQ/видео.htmlsi=PKYUJCmCbJphoy2o
We had a similar experience years ago. We bought a house with a tree that "might" fall someday on our neighbors newly built garage and bay window (built under our tree. The tree was there first ). It was "hi welcome to the neighborhood. Now remove your tree.". It became an issue. So. I removed all the branches and plugged the tree with mushroom spores. The real reason they wanted the tree gone was it blocked their view. Now their view is of 🌴 🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄🍄 🌴 but it will never fall on his garage. 😳
I'm no longer shocked at how difficult and ignorant people can be. If it was ME and that tree was on the ass-hat neighbor'ss property and endangering my home, I'd pay to have it removed and sue them to recover my costs.
You can’t have a tree removed from someone else’s property. The company couldn’t go on private property without the owner’s permission. You can remove what crosses into your property, but you would need a court order to force the neighbors to do anything.
Then Call in your insurance company agent to take pictures, & send the neighbor a notice they’ll be responsible fir ALL DAMAGES should it fall. Your insurance company will sue FOR YOU.
I like the way that you handled it. Very professional. A bit of chuckle in your voice told me you don't take bull from jerks seriously, and that's keeping the good energy within to focus on the job at hand.
We just won a 2 1/2 year lawsuit with a neighbor whose leaning drive way wall tilted far into her driveway and consequently shifted our concrete steps, sidewalk and dirt away from our home. We live in a cul-de-sac. She refused to the very end to admit there was an issue even tho all damage was evident. We won and her insurance company paid. She also had a tree that threatened our home. When we complained, she would taunt us by trimming her other trees and not the one threatening our home. What a Karen. But once we won lawsuit, had our attorney send letter to her about tree, she caved and was down in one week. Owning a home is a major responsibility and if you are not prepared to Fulfill that responsibility please do us all a favor and rent!
Here in the UK trees encroaching on someone elses property is guaranteed to start a bit of an issue. We live in a semi rural area and there are 3 of us who share boundaries. However, we all get along and we are reasonable with each other. We all talk to each other about the need for hedges, trees and fences to be replaced/repaired and when needed we share costs. We even arrange to go into each others gardens to carry out tree and fence works.

And you. Think. The roots.

Sometimes, people don't have the gratitude for what was offered to them.

You are very correct in your observations. The hazard trumps other details
Pretty much!
“I took down another tree.”
So what? And he deliberately parks his boat right under the tree that he thinks is going to fall down. Not only that, the guy is such a clown that another tree service left and didn’t want to deal with him. Incredible.
He was hoping to pay the boat off 😂
From the looks of things, he still had his boat parked underneath the remaining half this past summer.
More likely, he would rather deal with the hassle of a claim and everything instead of mildly alter his behavior, like someone who thinks he is less of a man for moving out of someone else’s way on a sidewalk.

The home owner can legally force the neighbor to cut down his tree that is dangerously hanging right over his house. The guy with the boat should be happy the guy next door is happy to pay for removing the dangerous hazard.
Nope, you have to cut it at the property line
I'm surprised that there is not some legality that obliges the owner of the tree to do something about it when it is that hazardous to other people. That is the same as other negligent offenses.
@@kenthomas4668 Depends on the state we went through this a few years ago with a neighboor next door to my mother. Part of the tree had already broken off and damaged her roof. I had a neighbors tree fall on my property. My insurance wanted a deductible. I didn’t want to pay the $500. Brought it to my neighbor. They refused to pay so I brought them to court. I sued for the entire cost of the removal and to repair the fence. Court ordered them to pay because it was their tree. So… in my experience, it’s still your tree even if it falls.
Yes that is exactly correct in most places.
I had a huge Locust tree, and a very large branch came down in a storm crushing my neighbor's fence and damaging my neighbor's roof. The insurance company said it was an "Act of God" and refused to pay my neighbor anything. They never sued me. They rebuilt the fence and the roof themselves.

The absolute audacity of that neighbor. You’d think he’d be grateful that his neighbor was paying to have a portion of HIS tree removed because it was a liability to HIM.
If I were him, I wouldn’t even let my neighbor pay for it, I would. THIS is one reason why my nearest neighbor is 3000’ away from me.
Exactly! There was a tree directly on the property line between my house and the neighbor...giant ugly scrub pine. The new owner came over one day and asked if it would be OK with me to remove the tree. I offered to pay for half. No reason to be an butthead.
Nobody likes to pay for things like this - I get it. But it’s cheaper in the long run to just have it done and maintain good relationships with your neighbors. Seems like his neighbors are really nice folks
If I was the paying neighbor, I would have cut what overhung my land and been done with it.
If a tree in your yard breaks and crushes your neighbor's fence, their insurance company is on the hook in most states.
That big mouth neighbor must be kitty cat whipped soo he needs to act like that to convince himself.
His tree, his responsibility. He’s lucky his neighbors are taking care of his tree that’s threatening their house.

Instead of realizing that the tree over the property line is a definite risk to his neighbor's home and working with them to take care of it they would rather be obstinate asses about it. How many times do you see news stories of falling limbs from storms not only damaging homes but cause injuries even deaths and this Kevin and Karen pair of armchair lawyers want to be jerks. Unreal.
It's so easy to be easy going.
ABSOLUTELY a jerk. And I can tell the type via a hundred other indicators without him even saying a word about it. Go Hogs.
Serves 'em right!
Yeah, well, I hope you bought some decent Scotch after that. I sure would have needed a few bottles of it, that's for sure!
that hurts me to read...

2. "Because the trunk that goes into your neighbor's property is crossing his property line, and poses a potential hazard to his property, he has every right to cut off that trunk at his property line." (The fact that the property line goes up into the sky actually works in your client's favor here, not the neighbor's favor.)
3. "Because the tree poses a potential hazard to my client's home, *you* might face liability if we don't cut this tree back, and some might argue it's your responsibility to to do, since it's ultimately your tree, even if he has the right to trim anything crossing his property line.
4. "We're not going to sign anything assuming any liability here, because that wouldn't be appropriate. If you have any issues with your tree later, and want to try to sue me or my client over that, that would certainly be your right. However, I don't believe you'd have any legal basis to prevail on, and you'd therefore just be wasting your money."
5. "I think it would be best for everyone if we cut off the trunk at this specific point, but if you only want me to cut off the portion crossing over my client's property line, that's also fine. I'll then only be working on his side of the property line."
6. "If you want me to cut down your portion of the tree as well, and are willing to pay me for it, I'm also happy to do that. It's just not my or my client's responsibility to do so unless you cover the cost."

Of course he did not prevail and I pasted the court's verdict on my window facing his kitchen window..
That’s why I’m not too concerned about getting sued. Many who try, abort the process, and many who don’t end up wishing they had.

It is always a good idea to be nice to neighbors as much as possible and use kindness and not anger.

I see what you’re saying 😂
THat's a common tactic of people who are socipaths or bordeline sociopaths. They just cant help themselves pulling that behavior. I will stop them and say, "You DON'T agree. You've NEVER agreed, so STOP SAYING YOU AGREED!"
Yeah what a jerk!
It would have been so easy for dude to be like "how much do I have to chip in to get you to take both?" He probably would have gotten a great deal!
I had the same thought. ☺
I freakin HATE getting involved in those situations. You did a good job.
This is So Fun! I just got done pruning two big Basswoods and a double stemmed Birr Oak. I've had hundreds of conversations like this. Had a guy call the cops on me. I welcomed him to. After a brief educational moment on arbor culture, I just kept working and in the end, the cops came over to me and said I was doing a good job and to stay safe. Stay safe up there my new friend!

I don't see where you were aggressive in the slightest. You were very professional and simply stated facts. Good for you.
Well done Kevin. The neighbor were really trying to press your buttons and bully you, but you held your ground and very politely stated facts, then went about your visit. If the other tree services talked to the neighbor they probably decided the hassle just isn't worth it. I'm saving this video for future reference.
Thanks
Suck it up and pay the guy to take both trees down.

I would probably guess that his real issue underneath this attitude is that he does not like having a sober living establishment right next to his property. The way he presents himself comes across like a peacock fluffing up his feathers and strutting around like the lord of the manor or in this case the neighbourhood.
@@GameofTrees You did a great job. You were correct from the start. Also great job resolving the concerns of both homeowners.
@@GameofTrees Best for the home owners to check the boundary lines! The guy that hired you should sue him for the cost....
And I would have given that deal:)
He's just trying to get both sides removed so he doesn't have to pay. You said it best, life's too short!

Sometimes the best neighbors are the ones that live miles away.
Or ones that walk on all fours
@@rhondabeirne8560 Unless they're deer that eat your bushes and flowers
The root originates on your property, you should be paying to take the tree down before it falls on the neighbor's garage. That's it. Period. The neighbor shouldn't even be paying for that. This guy is the biggest a-hole I've seen in a while. No honor. No sense of responsibility. No neighborliness.
Hardly anyone has any responsibility for anything now. People are absolutely gone in the head.
Looking at the state of that tree with the giant crack in it, it is his responsibility to make it safe for his neighbour again. I can't believe he's argueing about it and even lettting his neighbour pay for his own tree...
amen brother
"So, I just want you guys to know that if this hazardous tree that I haven´t taken care of and my neighbor is paying to get removed from his side falls on my side and on the boat that I deliberately parked under it, then i´m going to be blaming you guys"
-A Karen neighbor´s logic
And a number of commentators fail to observe those blatantly obvious truths 😂 nice post!
Lol. Love how you worded that.
My attitude was more of a sheep dog than bull dog. Thanks
Self-centred , over-entitled neighbour who really should be paying you for the work.
I think notice of a hazardous condition is also required to prevail in court.
Some people are just genuinely miserable and want others to feel the same
The one who is actually responsible for this tree and didn't want to take care of the problem himself, as he should, should have never said anything, to anyone.
He's the type that if and when he actually needs someone's help for whatever reason, no one will be there!
From the looks of the damage done to the tree from the storm, it is no wonder it was standing. That's a blessing from God, it spared the non-profit the added expense for a garage...
This is exactly why I lived way out in the country with my closest neighbor a quarter mile away - and that's my son.
Nothing worse than having Karen and Ken as neighbours.
Good luck to this woman, she’s doing good work in her deceased son’s name.
But what's even worse are those little Mama's boys called Dougie.
@@kennethzullick6897 Ha ha ha ha, my brother’s name is Kenneth. 😂
@@celticphoenix2579 That sounds idyllic.
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Yet another reason to never live in an area where houses are so close together.
@@verreal, I had excellent luck with that. 😉
I appreciate sober living houses. My son is currently living in a sober house after going through rehab. Thank you for helping this homeowner.
He's an idiot. If the tree falls and damages the property and he's already been notified of the hazard, he is 100% liable for the damages. Removing HIS tree was simply a gift to him. Must be new to owning a home.
Police don’t have any grounds to make a decision over this. What a joke!
I love spite trees.
@@vallee7966 Yeah, that’ll work.

Owning a home is a major responsibility and if you are not prepared to
Fulfill that responsibility please do us all a favor and rent!
A good situation to be grateful for, indeed!
You are civilised people. Americans are not.
Your so lucky your on good terms with your neighbours.i three monthe ago i had bother with the people who back onto me.i live in a rented property from birth and there are three beautufull tree's that are close yo my neighbours fence. They had only been moved in for four months.altho my house is rented ive always kept in touch with the laws reguarding the trees.one day i noticed they had taken off 5 branches from the sycamore tree which there allowed to do if it overhands into there garden.but they threw the branches back into my garden.i spoke to them about it but they said they were right.i knew they were not as throwing them back constitutes flytipping.so i contacted the council and the tree surgeon paid them a visit to tell them the rules.not satisfied with that 6 weeks later when the sun was out yhey contacted the council to say the sap off the trees was ruining there sons trampoline and could the council take the trees down.he came to inspect the trees went back to the neighbour and said no they are healthy tree's.finally a preservation order was put on them.as he said when a complaint is made about tree's its always about shade..im still getting dirty looks from the neighbour.sorry i meant to add im in the Uk.law's may be different in the USA
I think you handled the neighbour very well. 🇨🇦🇺🇸4ever
Thanks Kind Sir
You are so right life is too short and the neighbor is totally unreasonable.
