Today is one of the saddest days in rock and beyond. We lost a musician, a singer, one tough hombre, a legend and a hero. Thank you for all that you have given us all these decades. RIP Dusty Hill May 19, 1949 - Jul 28, 2021 We love you and you will be sorely missed.
Frank beard may be the best live playing drummer ever..I challenge you to find even one missed beat in any live performance...he showed up ready to roll every performance
Frank is a first class drummer and human being. No matter how good the guitar is when Billy plays La Grange with someone else, no one does drums that compete with Frank.
Jimi Hendrix once stated, Music is the most powerful substance on the face of the earth. It makes people remember the past, look forward to the future, and can make people feel every emotion, If you ever wondered where Jimi Hendrix pink strat came from, It was a Gift from Bill Gibbons. Thanks for the upload. Peace..
I'm so glad I grew up with this music and was able to appreciate it's power and grace even way back when I was a young kid. Both bands were go-to for me on the radio, record player, tape deck, CD player (and will still be on whatever new technology that''s comin' down the pike). Even their very old stuff sounds fresher and more vibrant than most new acts. RIP
RIP Dusty. I'm still sad over Dusty's passing ; Although Billy G's guitar playing was THE deciding factor in my taking up guitar,it was the bass playing of one Dusty Hill that led to my bass playing as well. I loved his sense of humor,as well as Frank and Billy's. Also I learned early from the guys thru their interviews of "not taking yourself too seriously" ( a problem these days with a number of bands). Dusty left us way too soon, this wasn't supposed to happen, not to the Top. My best wishes, thoughts and prayers to Dusty's wife,Billy and Frank ,and to fellow ZZ Top fans.Gone but Dusty you will never be forgotten. 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
I can't say enough about these musicians. Cream with Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce were one of my favorites in the 60s. Then in the 70s to 2020s ZZ TOP's Dusty Hill, Frank Beard, and Billy Gibbons, another great band🔥
Three years that changed rock music forever...the lifespan of Cream! Twelve years after this they played together for the last time. Today I shed a tear for "Mr. Baker."
Ginger and Jack had played together in different bands long before Cream came into being. A lot of people don’t seem to realise this. They never played very login the same band simply. Eva use they could stand eachother!!!!!
I have life long friends who recorded at Criteria Studios in North Miami Beach when we were fresh out of High School and one night they introduced me to the Recording Engineer of Criteria Studios who asked me if I wanted an after hour tour of the Studio. We went over to Criteria and I when I got into the lobby there was Gold & Platinum Records on the wall from the Bee Gees, Neil Young, Aretha Franklin and Derick & the Dominos who recorded Layla and I knew that Sky Dog Allman work on Layla recording that song. I didn't know the record was recorded there and the Recording Engineer told me they still have the original equipment that they cut the LP on. I couldn't believe it and so he took me to a 4 ft. wide black curtain that covered an alcove and there sat the equipment that they cut the LP with. all of the equipment with the exception of the machine they used to cut the original record was home made out of particle board and spray painted with cans of spray paint. the transistor bulbs were huge and they looked like they came straight out of a Frankenstein movie. all the wiring and electrical you could tell was not factory made. I wish there were cell phones back in the day, it was a memory I will never forget
Cream....yes...cream of the crop....at the time cream contained the best drummer on earth....best bassist on earth...best rock guitarist on earth...whew...and they gelled together perfectly
I agree. There must of been some controversial moments on the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Debbie Harry ( Blondie) was 2006 Awkward, embarrassing ZZ TOP, stayed together They didn't seem to care about the Rock 'n rock image It was the music 👏🎸
Those peeoople especially Ginger are working class Brits. There is magic in this, no university, no education except the one they got from their passion for music. It all started with Shakespeare who didn’t go to university and was revived first by the Beatles and then..... That is why Brit music was so good at one point .
Ginger obviously had major issues,as a drummer myself i often watched cream and just couldnt get into it at all simply because i knew he was a dick, the storming off at the Jack Bruce tribute kind of tells its own story,a highly talented musician but sorry, what a bad human being
My heroes! Frank, Billy, Dusty and don't forget Rocky too. I live right behind Frank, I often hear his cows mooing out in the pasture at night. Oh yeah, them English boys ain't bad neither..
Please listen to all of ZZ Top's albums before saying that. All three guys are equally part of ZZ Top. Each one of this is crucial to the sound. Seriously, I love B.G. but D.H. and F.B. were an integral part of the group.

These 3 guys brought more joy to the world than they might know
When Frank says we all wanted to be like Ginger. I take that to heart, because just like Ginger is a hero to Frank, Frank is a hero to me

This is the most I have ever heard from Frank.
Just listening to Frank Beard speak is amazing. I will always have a love and appreciation of Frank Beard

I always liked those guys. Glad I got to see ZZ Top live in person years ago. They always are a top act (no pun intended).

I liked Cream from the beginning. I'm 67 years old.
Black roof country, tired starlings. Loved Cream from the beginning. 64 years here! 😆
70 here. I'm So Glad!
Wow hearing Eric speak about cream playing after 25 years gave me chills. Love to be a fly on the wall for that session!
Flies can not hear
Love Franks voice & accent! RIP Rusty! God Bless Billy & Frank!❤️🙏🏻
I find his accent very grating.
Ol' Frank Beard, the human metronome!
IMO the most underrated drummer ever. 🤘🎹
I actually thought the same thing recently. Does he use one?
I think Phil Rudd of AC/DC owns that title.
I know Topper Headon holds that title.

billy can wear any hat he wants and he's still cool.
His ole fishin' hole hat #5 seemed perfect for the occasion.

I had no idea that Frank could speak, smile or actually had a personality.
He probably feels the same way about folks he doesnt get to hear talk. . .
Watch the Netflix doc on ZZ ,Frank speaks quite a bit,Fantastic documentary btw
Franks a great guy.
He speaks loud with the drums.

Great testimony from one great band to another.

'I don't believe in institutions'.
He believed enough to show up though.
