Keith Richard's had to simply ignore the fact that he was being blown away nightly if ZZ opened for the Stones/ they weren't openers much longer after Tres Hombres !!!###

Dusty and I went to elementary junior high and high school together we all played music back in the old days with his brother Rocky Hill sometimes it's a bit strange to see him so successful but I'm happy for him I'm sure it was a lot of work he was always a very ambitious guy

Billy Gibbons has had countless tonal tricks in the 50+ years since this recording/ but nothing compares to the tone of a 1959 Les Paul thru Marshall/Rio Grande stacks as heard here !!!###

Had the good fortune to see ZZ Top on this tour, almost a year after this show, and it was spectacular. Not only did I get to experience "That little ol' band from Texas", but I also got to experience my first Punk band, as they had The Dictators from NYC as their openers. Quite a contrast between the two groups. I preferred ZZ buy a W-I-D-E margin.

Saw them before they were even charging, and for a buck a few times afterwards. Good thing about hanging around Love Street Allen's Landing. At least Houston has that to brag about. ZZ Top.

Tejas is one of the most underrated albums ever. Still one of my favorites! Every song is great. The variety of guitar tones Billy Gibbons recorded is unmatched on this album and Frank Beard's drumming is at its peak IMO.

After this tour Dusty took a job slinging bags at DFW airport. Band went on a couple year break and Dusty became an airport baggage handler. While Frank went into rehab to distance himself from heroin “a vacation for the mind” is his quote. Billy went off wandering around.

Longtime fan here, and while I salute the group for pushing on, _Dusty wasn't just the bass player._ With a band this small, the vocals are every bit as important as the rest. To me? (and I know others might not agree) This 'new' lineup is like breaking a leg on a '3-leg stool', and gluing the broken pieces back together with Elmer's glue. _It still looks the same, but as soon as you put some weight on it? It's obviously broken beyond repair._

Shipped down to ft Campbell Kentucky as a army brat with a viciously mean stepfather..I met my first friend and he said listen to this..13 years old and the opening guitar of TUSH by zz top ..goodness me ..didn't find out dusty sang that song till 2000 something..I know. Got Shipped to Schofield barracks on Oahu next..luckily same friends family got sent there as well. Sit in his room and play fandango and Tres hombres over and over and over..with a little bad company thrown in. 1976 /77 .my whole playing style is based on Billy gibbons..take Beatles , hendrix influences and combine them. If I do say so myself. I ended up being one interesting guitar player and writer ...with no hearing left and a broken down body from building and roofing houses my whole adult life..but those gigs ..those potential inquiries about our original music...wouldn't change anything..except standing next to the drummer. Wasn't amps that damaged my ears..frigging zyljin cymbals. Tiny stages at roadhouses/ honky tonks .squeezed together on stage.

5:16 No, you were right, Mr Clapton. The whole idea of a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame being institutionalized by effete, irrelevant dilettantes like Jann Wenner is more vomit-inducing than greatness-inducting.

One thing ZZ Top will do few if any other band does. That is to end a song in a way that is surprising at first. Who makes the end as exciting as the beginning of the song? lol

I'm so grateful to have seen them play live at the Greek theater back in 2007. One of my very very favourite bands ever. Got the chance to meet Billy in 2011 at the flea market at Fairfax High School, we sang the first verse of Shiek together, my favourite song from them. Talking about it now I can't believe this happened. He was such a nice guy, as I was talking to him he got a little pad and pen out of his pocket and signed an autograph on it and gave it to me 😂 it was hilarious, I was like "well thanks", I didn't ask for it, i never ask for autographs 😂 it's one of his idiosyncrasies that shows how just cool and laid back of a guy he is.
