Taking apart a kaba ilco 790 door lock

I will go over how to take apart and put back together a kaba ilco 790 door lock. This should only be done if the lock is no longer under warranty as opening it voids your warranty. I’ve had several locks with hardware issues such as: broken springs, things popping out of place, and a burnt out motor.

I am a bozo programmed lock and didn't know I moved that it would be red duh if somebody has dead bolt on goes red your a life saver just fixed a room we needed bad

Hi Torin! Interesting video. I am wondering if you can advise what to do if the notch goes out of alignment. The lock flashes red when this happens. After realigning the notch, the lock works normally. Is this occurring because of a worn out part? Is there a work around like putting a piece of tape to keep the notch from going out of alignment? There are at least two other youtube videos describing the notch issue.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS LOCK HOW YOU PUT IT BACK TOGETHER! There are two small washers, one black and made of foam and the other plastic colored white that are missing from the inside the lock located on the shuttle. Do not install this lock unless you want to get permanently locked out of the room over time. Those two washers keep the shuttle from skipping off of the track. If it skips out of that track then it will no longer unlock. Ever! Even if you drill it. Seriously! I work with these locks every day. I have made a career out of fixing mistakes like that. Call a certified installer like me to make your repairs. They also have the ability to replace warranty stickers so it stays under warranty.

I recently changed a 790 lock for back door exit. Its allowing staff but not guest. Solid red...not sure if it's in programming or is my lock in halt mode...any help is appreciated
