- Rick Péwé interviews Fred Laperriere about his 1942 GPA Amphibious Jeep that he brought to the 2021 Flat Fender Fall Color Tour. If you have ever wanted to turn a flat fender jeep into a boat, just know that the US military has already thought of that. Fred's GPA is fully functional and if you ask nicely he will even let you drive it. Does it float? Yes! Fred has pictures of himself driving it on a lakes and assures us that it could do it again.

When i think back to my childhood a lot of what i read was written by Rick Pewe and David Freiburger. What a shame that Rick is basically retired now in this day and age. Thank you Rick.
Well...he's not fully retired. Just changing direct with more consulting work and, of course, Gone-GPN and its parent company 1941 Media LLC.
Wow, 20 in the whole United States!! and my brothers got one!!
As a Kid in the 1960s This TV Show Called "Passage to Adventure" Somebody Went Around the World in a GPA Jeep.
And a guy named Ben Carlin drove and sailed around the world in a GPA in the 1950s

I wish they would make reproduction bodies and frames so we could build replicas.
I wish my jeep was amphibious
And we keep dreaming of the day (before our time) when you could buy an Army surplus GPA.
Will there be anymore Jeep runs or get togethers in CO. Anytime soon?

I just saw a storie on TV about a man after World War 2, drove a Sea Jeep around the world, it took him 8 years.
