I use dextrin yellow I make for a different non food applications. Using it on cotton in a high humidity area has the dextrin absorbing moisture. Argo laundry starch has been suggested but is now $25 and up a pound. Might this be an Argo laundry starch replacement?. Bob
Joy i hear about gluten free starch and blah blah is this homemade healthy ? and how to deal with issue of removing gluten on home made starch ? help please . otherwise God bless your channel a lot its full of valuable information
Please can one make pap with this corn starch stuff? It looks like same process as pap and the end product looks like custard powder….. Please enlighten me. Thanks
Hello ..pls I tried to make mine own corn starch.... I tried to use the white corn ... I sock it after night but it's still hard my blender can't blend it well ... Pls does it mean u have to sock it for 3 days for it to b soft before I use pls.
Me sees this vid: Hmm maybe this video will help me to make my own cornstarch. My other side: Bruh- why do you even want to make ur own cornstarch when u can buy it.
Some ppl prefer being self sufficient, other ppl grow corn themselves and this is just another way to use excess crop, which often gets dried regardless so that it keeps.
You can definitely use yellow corn and the starch still comes out white. It's called ogi, a morning breakfast that's eaten with Akara in Nigeria. You can dry the charf too and get corn meal flour for corn meal recipe. Thank you.
Pls what if I prepare my cornstarch in the ogi(pap) way i.e soaking for 3daus and processing to get the starch can I still use it as the usual cornstarch?
No it’s not... They are both gotten from corn, but corn flour is gotten from corn kernels directly, ( drying and grinding the corn kernels into powdered form) While corn starch is gotten from the process of this video. Like you’re making pap. ( but the corn is not fermented)
@@soniaberry8132 cornflour is cornstarch….. there is 2 types of cornflour.. the grainy yellowish one and the one that is starch… pls look it up….. its sold in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, co-op same consistency as Cornstarch…. It’s sold as Cornflour here.. and it’s called Cornstarch in the US
Looks just like the "Argo" corn starch I buy my wife all the time! Having said that,, I don't think it's very expensive,, less than 2 bucks & unless you're in "survival mode",, is it cost efficient vs. the amount of time,, effort & total cost you spend doing all this? I mean "all knowledge" is good to have just in case. I think you simply used those white corn kernels as your only ingredient but you had close to 4 days total combined to get to your finished product. I'm not knocking what you're doing here at all,, just trying to see if it's worth it all with the time expended & initial cost? Yes I know,, it's the beauty & satisfaction of being able to make your own push come to shove. Perhaps that's the entirety of this whole exercise??
Not everyone has access to grocery stores, and it is always helpful to learn how things are made. This is especially helpful for those in the Midwest US who have a lot of corn

Seems like a lot of effort for something that is so cheap and easily obtainable. Is there a benefit to home made cornstarch?
