Tip: Shooting Zero Two's wings makes him a lot slower. This allows you to hit his halo and bandage more easily. Left out the "S" for "Wings." I fixed the error though.

Here's a theory for ya: When Kirby defeated the original Zero in DL3, its eye and its main body remained separated. The body went on to regenerate into 02 (note the bandage on its head from where the eye tore itself out) and the eye turned into Dark Nebula (called 03 in Japan).
Dark Nebula was sealed in the chest Eons before kirby even came to dreamland, so it is mostly a former Zero and not the eye of Zero (It's not 03 in japan But Dark Zero btw) And also who would want the worst dark matter fight of all time being 03 ?

No, Kirby isnt Dark Matter. Putting a face similar to Kirby might have just been a way to throw him off while they were fighting (or because the dev team thought it would be cute or whatever). And he makes like five other faces over the course of the fight anyway

I could see some twisted lore stating that kirby is the reborn soul of void termina. After all, the soul battle description of void termina does state that, maybe in the distant future, the soul could be reborn as a friend... hmm... but that's just a theory. It's probably not true.
Well remember this is Kirby not Kingdom Hearts or something, not every coincidence could be something significant. In fact most things that seem off while we play through the games are usually explained in game, like Gooey being a Dark Matter and Magalor seeming too nice. Making Kirby a Dark matter wouldn't really make much sense. We already know how a Dark Matter operates and how it manifests itself i.e possessing people and feeding off negative energy to form physical bodies. And we already have seen what a defective dark matter looks like in the form of gooey and how he functions, both of which are different from Kirby, so Kirby and Meta Knight aren't even defective Dark Matters or something. It was more likely to show contrast and how Kirby was this thing's opposite, Kirby went along and made friends and Void Termina was a being who couldn't do that.

The reason why Dark Matter keeps coming back in almost every Kirby game is because as his name implies his body literally subsists of the cold, inky abyss of space. He's a lot like Kracko where Kracko can continue to come back from the dead so long as the water cycle continues to generate clouds in the sky. With Dark Matter, since Space is a infinite concept he continue to take shape in a multitude of different forms. Same with Dark Nebula which was Dark Matter given a new body Zero controls all the forms of Dark Matter because he comes from a larger more horrific abomination near the end of all creation. Void. And in an endless cycle its Zero who creates the Dark Matters everytime they're destroyed and its Void who births a new Zero everytime it is destroyed so more Dark Matters can continue to be made to continue their assault on Dream Land Its such a simple concept and yet so 3-dimensional. For the 02 fight, you can attack the wing(s) while it is flailing. It will stop it from moving and aiming during its attack phase.

It very well might be Zero, actually. Void Termina can be roughly translated as "final nothing" and Zero is another word for nothing. So, its name is basically "Final Zero."

still hard to confirm if it is dark matter, the description and it appearance and moves seem to show that void termina is the origin source of many villains and Kirby, therefore making probably not of part of dark matter, but the creator of it . especially given how zero was stated the be source, and void an obvious more ancient and more powerful being kinda contradict with zero, making him a mere underling

The reason why Dark Matter keeps coming back in almost every Kirby game is because as his name implies his body literally subsists of the cold, inky abyss of space. He's a lot like Kracko where Kracko can continue to come back from the dead so long as the water cycle continues to generate clouds in the sky. With Dark Matter, since Space is a infinite concept he continue to take shape in a multitude of different forms. Same with Dark Nebula which was Dark Matter given a new body
Zero controls all the forms of Dark Matter because he comes from a larger more horrific abomination near the end of all creation. Void. And in an endless cycle its Zero who creates the Dark Matters everytime they're destroyed and its Void who births a new Zero everytime it is destroyed so more Dark Matters can continue to be made to continue their assault on Dream Land
Its such a simple concept and yet so 3-dimensional. Its like Kirby cannot destroy something that operates literally like a force of nature and yet feels obligated to at least keep these horrific abominations away from his side of the galaxy its an exhausting almost pointless existence but Kirby is dedicated to continue forward with this so long as he continues to breathe.

Pretty sure termina isn't confirmed as dark matter, or even as being related to it this far.
DarkstarX1 I think it's confirmed to be Dark Matter. Just look at the evidence:
- It obviously took the form of a Dark Matter with its shape, eye and the things around it
-Its bird wings are similar to Zero 2's wings
- It makes the same creepy face Zero 2 does
- It has some elemental powers just like Miracle Matter
- When it is turning into the Void Termina(giant form) , the black substance looks a bit similar to Dark Matter
-Possessive capabilities that change the possessed's form
