Correction: (09:36) The labels are mixed up, iPhone 13 is the better image - Наука
i just bought iphone 13 in 2024
Im about to follow your steps, so please what do you think? is there any problem with the front:back camera? or are you facing any problems?
M going to buy it too share some opinion should i buy iPhone or Samsung s23
@@daito737 depends on you, i bought ip just for the camera
@@daito737Both is good. You may go with android if you want more customization and being open source. Both camera is excellent in terms of photo but video on iphone a bit better
@@daito737buy an iphoe its whole lot better samsung havee heating issue specially in s23 and battery optiminsation is very poor comapring to i phone
I got into cameras earlier this year, and this was the first Apple event where I knew what all those camera spec numbers meant.
I'm still a rookie, but the 13 Pro camera features have gotten me so excited, with these tests making me even more so.
Could you recommend a website or a channel where you can learn about the basics in detail with good explanation
But once you're used to an actual camera you'll probably never or barely use smartphone camera anymore
At least that's what happened to me, smartphone and an actual camera is just built with different purposes for different demographics
For the money, you can buy, lets say, sony a6400 with stock lens and accessories
Excited by camera numbers that are not even impressive in the smartphone world lmao.

Of all the reviews on this latest release (which is what I was looking for) … Yours is the BEST. Thanks Tyler, concise. No BS , no hype & always professional. You get a lot of intel in these reviews.
Finally, an honest review covering what do you can actually do in a real world setting versus what has been publicized.
you always cover everything that i care about. thank you tyler.
and can’t wait for the iPhone workflow video, cool to see you get into magic tutorials!
A real review of Cinematic Mode with details that all the big guys are glossing over or not sharing - Thank you, Tyler!
Your videos are so fun to watch, Tyler. I always wait for the new one. As far as iPhones and mobiles are concerned, I still can't forget the amazing intro you had for the iPhone X. Those intro shots are still so fresh in my memory. Thank you so much. I personally really appreciate the good work you are doing to keep us informed and entertained.
Taking this as my ‘summary’ for what I need to look out for Video wise. Thanks
Fantastic review!!! So glad I landed on this video as I’m researching iPhone 13 options now. Wondering if you think third party camera apps like Pro Camera and Filmic Pro will be able to incorporate the cinematic mode (perhaps allowing 24p shooting). I’m a wedding filmmaker and you are right, there are times when I need to grab some extra b-roll when on-site. The iPhone comes in super handy when all my gear is packed and ready to head to the next location and I see something really neat to capture (for a few seconds here and there to cut into the final film). Subscribed!
Solid review and some great points to take on! I’ve actually decided to use the iPhone 13 Pro as my main shooter for a full year!
You're my go-to when I want a review of an iPhone's cameras. Keep up the great work dude!
Amazing video as usual! Coming from an iPhone 6S I really felt the difference buying the iPhone 13. Would love to see a video on different setups/settings to shoot different things like RUclips talking heads, documentaries, social media content, etc.
Even though I have no plans on upgrading this year and sticking with my iPhone 12 Pro, I always love your review Tyler. Been watching your channel since you made your iPhone 11 review. Keep up the good work.
If you have a 12 there isn’t even a question that you shouldn’t upgrade. Your phone is perfectly fine
@@_PoPo_ I have an iPhone 12 Pro but I got a free iphone 13 should I use the iPhone 13?
@@_PoPo_ I have the 10 max and still skipping this one
@@MK-np3sd obviously I’m referring to if you have the option to buy a new one or not dude.
@@_PoPo_ im serious I’m holding 2 iPhone right now which should I choose 12 pro or 13?
Dude, I'm amazed by cinematic videos shot by you. Really look stunning in daylight 🔥🔥🔥🔥 I loved cinematic mode.
Absolutely love that shirt and the wallpaper in that room!
FINALLY, an in-depth review specifically about video on the iPhone 13 Pro. Thank you.
Dude everything you do is perfection.
Great video Tyler. Looks like you had a great vacation!
The content was great, as always. And it was pretty and funny. Thank you, Tyler!
I’m watching this on an iPhone 7 and it looks amazing lol can’t wait to upgrade to the 13 pro tomorrow! Excited!!!
Thanks for sharing these meaningful, informative reviews.
I absolutely do not need to upgrade from my 12 Pro, but these new features are a little tempting. Great video as always! Can’t wait for more!
I agree but i did.
I really didn’t think cinematic mode would really be all that, but personally I absolutely love it anytime I’m videoing people. Objects and pets, eh. But it really does feel like a step up in video
Always the best reviews!
Getting the 13 Pro and super keen to use it as my main RUclips camera!!
Probably the best review i have watched
9:37 I think you got your text mixed up. That, or the 12 pro looks way better.
Came to the comment section to say the same.
Yep. The one labeled 12 Pro matches the footage from the previous shot that’s labeled 13, so it definitely seems like the labels got swapped.
I was very confused for a second haha
Was wondering. Some strong sensor reflections from the higher exposure on the left - prob the 12 pro.
Yes for the workflow video !
THANK YOU for addressing the ghosting/flares issues. Every Android phone I've used doesn't have the flare issue and it boggles my mind that apple still hasn't fixed this
Mine will be here on Oct 15th! Can’t wait! It’s on backorder..
i'm truly waiting for the photography version of the 13 review
The option to edit focus placement In Cinematic mode after its shot is AMAZING!! Ordered my 13ProMax two days ago (30 days before they can ship though)
Why did you get the max and not the normal pro? im overthinking this big time and tryna figure out which one i need
That low light video in the beginning looks great!
I would absolutely love a editing guide for iPhone. I bought my first mac last year and just got final cut pro. I'd love to see how to import clips and get editing
Every year i wont miss your iphone review. (Filmaker’s perspective)
I agree regarding adjusting the bokeh depending on the situation. I like the blue but it can be distracting if there’s too much
I am watching it on a 27 inch monitor and the videos from the new iPhone looks perfect!
Absolutely love the shirt!
F8 looks useable.
Also I think the 13pro has a better wideangle than 13 and updated ultrawide as well. Regular 13 has the same ultrawide, and wideangle from 12 pro max.
Great review at very nice locations. Re your question on cinematic mode available only in 30fps (rather than for 24 or 25fps) I would assume the following: As the algorythm for cinematic mode is still new but complicated, Apply probably needed to make a decision for one framerate for launching their product. And, the most common PC and Apple monitoring framrate is 60Hz which perfectly resonates with 30fps. In Davinci Resolve, you could reduce to 24fps using their motion flow algo that is awesome.
I myself, switched my Lumix S1H to permanently filming on 30fps after having recognized terrible flicker on 60Hz monitors and iPads.
To avoid flicker with electric light in the EU (50 Hz), I select shutter angle of exactly 209 degrees - and everthing works fine.
Cool to see Kaimuki on RUclips. Great work man.
Frankly speaking I rarely like to watch iPhone's reviews. But dude your video made me mesmerized n made me tempt to buy that iPhone 😊. Keep up the good work
Dope thumbnail. Dope shirt/music/accent wall!
Indeed, cinematic mode not professional enough yet, hence I’m not upgrading from a 12 Pro. But, for social media purpose as a professional, it is still very tempting to purchase!
3:02 depth of field and focus racking is INSANE!
Computational photography/video is the next big leap...good review.
I immediately recognized that you are at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Plus Diamond Head. I love staying there. I recently upgraded from iPhone 12 Pro Max to iPhone 13 Pro. Plus I upgraded to the MacBook Pro M1 Max 14".
I heard about the 30 fps for cinematic mode 1st here so thanks & 👍🏻 🙏🏻
Great video! For iphone cinematography or vlogs pls.
It’s been a few years since I’ve been to Waikiki. Great review!
i did a series of video shots at night on an electric skateboard and i was shocked at how much better the image was than the 12 pro max. low light is fantastic now.
I think they crippled the 24fps cinematic mode to have something to "update" moving forward. These phones are getting so good they are starting to run out of things to upgrade.
Oh totally apple is good at that if you look at the history of phones they usually give 1-2 big feature with other smaller update and new color when there is no design change
When they give night mode they only give to the main lense then next year they add one more lense
Same as image stabilization
Always just one or main lenses then next year the same feature expand to other lenses ( like does it really need one year to develop the same onto other lenses )
Or how Touch ID and Face ID is a bit faster on next year model ( which I’m sure it’s just some setting they disable or change some algorithms a bit )
Yep. 24fps next year, 4k the year after.
That and it would keep the cost of the phones down
I came from the future and it's exactly what they did with the 14 pro and 15 pros haha
You’re the go-to on iPhone cameras each year. Appreciate your perspective and reports each cycle! Something I would LOVE for you to do a video on is a deep-dive on the new Styles feature as a professional photographer. The Connected guys have a limited perspective on this specific topic 😉 so I would love to hear what’s the scoop. Lastly - if you’re still in Honolulu be sure to check out Goofy for breakfast !! Get an açaí bowl for me 😍 😂
There is a place for filming with a phone, but I'm still of the school of thought that if you want better photographic or cinematic performance then buy a cheap phone (demi-flagship from 3yrs ago) and a good camera. There are small cameras like the Sigma fp which are incredible and cost barely more than an iPhone. Even the Ricoh GR which is panned for its video, would be a far better use of funds if these capabilities are important. I like the new iPhones 12 and 13 because they are handy devices, and have returned to the iPhone4 aesthetic - I would buy one for that reason foremost, but I've done without one since gthe iPhone4S now, so I'll likely wait for these to become cheaper, and buy a Sigma fp or S1 in the meantime. Thx.
Right! An actual camera will always beat out an IPhone. Especially when you bolw it up on a big screen you begin to see the faults of IPhone
I Wana record my basketball games for highlights do you think I should just invest in a camera or stick to iPhone ?
Excellent Review 📸
Future updates for 24fps and redesigned camera app. It needs it!!
I am tempted to use an iPhone for professional work, but for me it boils down to one thing: transfer time. If I’m doing a documentary, I want to be able to download the footage and get the camera back out onto the set as quickly as possible. I would love to know your thoughts on that.
Sadly, a big complain has been that the Lightning port really restricts transfer speeds and it can take a hell of a long time to transfer big files
I found you when you released the Iphone 8 plus review (still my current phone), gonna wait till iphone 14 to upgrade
Tyler! I clicked on it 10,001 times! Another great video. Thanks.
Thank you sharing all the great information Tyler! I would love to step up to the iPhone Pro but, as I expected , it appears that there isn't any type of flat profile for video. I normally shoot everything in flat for editing in FCPX. Thanks again..... You did an awesome presentation and I'm looking forward to your upcoming video's. 😊👍.
The only way to do it is still with Filmic Pro
Awesome vid and edits and filming and phone and knowledge
Thank you for this!
I'm not sure if I agree with your opinion that the iphone 13 pro and pro max's widelens are much better than the 13 mini or 13. I've tested both of them side by side on wide and honestly the differences are minimal or inexistent for rookies. These cameras are awesome! Anyway your video is awesome and well edited dude! keep it up!
Hey , lovely review , Did you make Professional workflows on the iPhones ?
Please do a workflow video on shooting iphone content and editing on Windows on Premier Pro! Also something on low light conditions like myself where I use my iPhone 11 with filmicpro for recording real estate videography! The ISO is something that worries me hence I use filmic to cap that. Ulta wide angles are amazing but in low light they are a big miss. Would love to know a little more about all of this! Also, love your work and the efforts you put in :D
Fantastic video!
Get this man 10k likes!
This is insane!!! I’m looking forward on your next iphone 13 films
Always a sober presentation. Can’t wait to get mine next month. Do the professional video shoot video. Por favor
Great video!! What settings did you use for the shots in the bedroom (around 6:15) and how much storage is 4k video using? How many GB used for an hour of shooting?
Great video!
Hey mate, loved this video. Quick question on your luts for sale - is there any way to apply these without the need to jump into a desktop editing workflow? Any iPhone apps that make it easy to apply luts? Thanks!
YES! camera navigation is way too crowded! I really hope Apple is taking notes on your video! I have missed good shots trying to navigate from one mode and settings to another
Awesome review! Looking forward to the photography review … i am a Professional Photographer myself and i am still not sure if i should go for the 13 Pro. Maybe the 12 Pro is enough - Coming from the iPhone X
Here's the thing, Apple doesn't come up with Cinematic Mode for professional photographers like yourself. They come up with it for people that just want to step up their game at a family bbq or something. It's not for us nerds. 🍎
Great info as always 👍 did you use nd filter? What lut would you recommend for iPhone 13 pro from you lut store?
Love that shirt man
Any idea when you'll have your promised iPhone work flow video up?
This is the first video I have seen from you. I still can't deciede. This would be my first Iphone, but i would buy especially for it's video capture capabilities.
BTW Why do filmmakers shot in 24?
Great review bro... Love from India❤ 🇮🇳
What u recommend bro? 128 gb or 256gb?. For filmmaking, loved the video!
Just found this video & it was great. Wanting to shoot more community spot lights of local businesses & want to keep cost low so using my iphone would help alot. Just wondering did you also make the video about professional workflow on the iphone 13?
Really good video. Thank god that i bought the Iphone 13 pro.
It was strange to see everyone freaking out about Cinematic Mode being limited to 1080p, and acting like that was a deal breaker. Glad to see I'm not the only one to think that it basically doesn't matter. If you can see the detail of 4K, you can see the flaws of Cinematic Mode even more clearly.
Not to mention movies are shot in 1080p...
@@elay6644 exactly - up until quite recently, major Hollywood movies to be shown on massive movie theatre screens were 1080p.

Please do the video on professional workflows with the iPhone!
Funny how "Tech Reviewers" dismissed Cinematic Mode as trash, yet actual filmmakers love it. It's like if you use it properly and consider its limitations, it can be useful.
You should do that pro workflow video anyway!
At 9'39" in the side by side comparison, the 13 Pro looks terribly soft compared to the 12 Pro. Was the side the side mis-labelled ?
At 9:37 the video clip from the 12 pro is markedly better than the 13 pro, so I wonder if there was a mistake and the tag were switched around!
Is there any proof that the iPhone shoots the best 4k60FPS on a smartphone? I am testing it right now against the Huawei P50 Pro and it seems to me color wise the P50 Pro has a bit more punch and less of the soft mist that I see on the 13 Pro
BRO im stilling rocking my *IPHONE 7!*
Huawei mate 7 was my first phone and odd quality is just 720. Still don't know what is the best for me android or apple. That phone you reviewing is so mind blown.
My go to hotel - The Laylow ❤️
One of the best hotel experiences ever, the staff especially 🤌
Thanks for the fantastic and best review I’ve seen on cinematic mode. I’m excited to see this technology move forward.
I think the 3x zoom is actually one of the most tempting features, 2x was never enough.
We need an updated 'What's on my iPhone' video
What makes you love the ultra wide so much? Is it mainly good for landscapes? I’ve heard others say that the wide lens is best overall quality? I don’t know anything about cameras but found your channel very interesting!
It’s a really large and crazy perspective, you can get some very creative shots with an ultra wide. But they will put the most resources on the lens and sensor of the main wide camera, because it’s what you’ll use the most and because physics wise it’s easier to design a perfect wide than a perfect ultra wide
If we are lucky, Apple provides an update to support 24 and 25 fps in Cinematic mode. It’s possible and done before (on iPhone 11)
I just started a vlog with only the iPhone 13 pro. hopefully will be inspired to get more kit. What else would you recommend?
Thank You I still can't decide to buy iPhone 13 or 12 Pro for shooting movies for my channel
