I really love those stop loss traps!!!
I've been using the Hagz brackets and the conni clips for 2 seasons now. I absolutely love them.
An added little trick is wrap some electrical tape around the bottom of the pole( about 6" up) to prevent the bracket from sliding off.
That's a kickass set up. 👊💀
Those brackets are awesome! Absolutely a necessity on the marsh. I might suggest I put the pole out away from the hut and bed the trap right on the end of the slide that way the pole guides them away from the hut. I have found less ring offs and damaged huts that way.

Jeff really changed rat trapping for me with those 110 spring clips. They are a phenomenal idea. I need to get some fiberglass rods though. I use the steel ones and they're heavy.

Another great video Scott. I've been using the 110 hagz brackets, like them very much. The only problem where I trap is the water level fluctuates depending on the wind direction and strength blowing across the Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair. I use aluminum poles for the brackets not the fibreglass rods. I also put a wrap of electrical tape on the bottom of the rod so when I pull the rod out of the mud the hagz can't slide off the bottom.
I started using Hagz brackets and the spring clips 2 seasons ago, what a great product, love them. I also use there muskrat tail hook for skinning them, I like your victor jump spring and the stop loss traps.

That's one thing I miss doing trapping muskrats and mink and coon, caught so many furs, not much for rats in the area of my home town of Grand View Wi. And I don't have any of my traps I gave them to my brother Glen and Gary, they were trapping furs around lakes and rivers in northern Wisconsin

We have jump traps too. But some are regular jumps. The ones with the longer springs are called longsprings. If they have the stop-loss device the are called longspring stoploss

Glad you mentioned the bait that can be put on the system. I was wondering why you didn't have carrots or something on the set. I've asked before what you do with the beaver, so now what do you do with the rats? Some areas these are eaten and are considered a seasonal fare. I don't know about eating a muskrat though.

That was awesome Scott! I think the Hagz bracket and 110 clips are the ticket for sure. Not a lot of muskrats in my neck of the woods though but I Iove muskrat trapping when I can find some. Would a swivel prevent the twist offs? When are the muskrat pelts prime in your area? Great video!
Wondering where you got your fiberglass rods? I'm having the darndest time finding them locally for a reasonable price, at the six foot length. I know Hagz has them, but the shipping cost is pretty steep. Thanks.

I'm not sure about that one. I think if it was pushed deep into the mud it would. But it's a little hard to get it deep into a sandy bottom

@@330Maniac yes sir, blacksmiths from oneida n.y. & victor got together & invented & built traps. An industry that continues today. I'm from w.n.y. the claw hammers that we work with to this day was also founded in oneida area. 1 of those original hammers made it's way with a carpenter who purchased it,to a church building excursion in the N.Y.C. area.
