This looks like the La Jolla Children's Cove. The birds and seals are even reactive to the storm. Thank you for filming and sharing. My late husband had a business nearby and we visited often with our children when they were little.
It used to be fun to go stand on the wall and hold the Rails and waves crashed over us. Never with surf quite this big , but we used to get some gnarly ones!
Years ago a couple Crossed the barricades on that retaining wall during very high surf and were swept away and they never found them. Some of the railings were bent and torn off
@@shelleycharlesworth5177 here's a strange twist to the story I was hiking on that beach area north of the caves and I found a bone thought was marine mammal found out couple years later that it was a human arm bone 😫 first thing I thought about was those people that got swept away and they never found.
howw many times have i walked that wave break jutty and to see it like this is crazzzy!! been down on that lil sea lion beach alcove many times too… what an absolute wicked cool place to be watching this at!! thx for the share!
the sea creatures like the sealoins and cormorant sea bird, are having trouble getting in and out of the water turbulances and looking for food. They are going to have to wait til it simmers down in the ocean for them to productively look for food.
@@Clj737what does this have to do with the effects of global warming and the fact that hurricanes, high tides, winter storms, and summers are getting worse? ?? Black Comerants ,,, is that the birds they show in a big flock,,?? Fascinating,,,, They are smart enough to stay off shore. I've seen those in Maine,,,, very cool birds.
can somebody tell me what kind of birds those are? and no jokes about seagulls,, i know what seagullls are,,,, the Dark Birds on shore,,,, ?? thank you
Thanks for keeping the public informed on San Diego events
Ya, the news certainly doesn't do it anymore.
@@rd4660 Funny, because I didn't hear a word about rain today, until I left for work!

I grew up in La Jolla and many tourists have been swept away despite warnings !!

Very cool! Thanks! 👍🏻
You bet!
I almost bought a house by the beach good thing I found a house in the other location. That's a scary wave it feels uneasy.
Even the seabirds … forget this!
Did you see any pangas boats out there Doug?
Seabirds gathered for a meeting... They're probably hungry... 😱
Another great video Thank you!. How many feet tall are these waves?
6-8 ft
Dayum, even the penguins back off!
The seals seem distressed, I can hear it from their calls!
the ocean has been doing this for millions of years!

Loving the calm Turquoise water here in Florida 😂
Good luck with them hurricanes
@@yettimannettii2039 I would rather take a 100 hurricanes than to be living under NewScum control

This ought to give us a break from the bird stink on the cliffs for a while.

Great video Doug, but it looks a little washed out!
It was the weather conditions and early in the morning
@@911VideoNews Washed out Doug! Not the video, the beach! I'm just playing Good Morning on this last day of 2023!
Ahh…winter storm surf in San Diego while i’m in Bumphucke, Oklahoma visiting the decrepit in-laws.

La Jolla cove should smell better after the wave wash away all that poop on the side of cliff away
Beautiful tho.
