    Thanks for sharing this. I particularly like the comment about having a prep day and a shooting day and how the shooting never seemed to get rolling until the last two hours of the shoot day. So many moving parts in this piece, I appreciate your sharing the details of how it was puled off.

      Thanks for watching Aric! It was surprisingly complicated to orchestrate. I blame Goodfellas for getting us all hooked. Cheers!

    Absolutely amazing teamwork, like clockwork! Surprised how you sorted the lighting that would suit all of the angles. Great job!

      Thanks very much! Yes that was a really tricky pre-light and our gaffer was absolutely in-the-zone for each take, operating the dimmer board for all the cues. Thankfully it all came together!

    I'm attempting a two scene steadicam music video next week. One scene filmed n a bathroom, the other around a piano in a studio. I'm doing it as a one man band, lighting, blocking, movement, angles. Am i nervous, yes! He who dares ;)

    Great bts coverage. You mentioned I think you shot on c300 mk 2, curious as to what the reasoning was for that for this specific project?

    • @OliverKember
      @OliverKember  6 лет назад

      Cheers dude! It was the C300 Mk.1. This was 2012 so there was no Alexa Mini back then. We didn’t need slow mo and the C300 had one of the best HD images going. It was a combination of nice small size for the steadicam and great rental price.

      Hi again Oliver. Nothing special, but a one-take MV I filmed just went online. Some mistakes with shadows etc. here and there, but was a great first-time experience :)

      Really impressive! I like how the scope grew and grew as the song built, including the reveal at the end. Congrats to your focus puller too, eesh! Thanks for sharing Matthew.

    Liked and subscribed... inspirational. Its just one little thing (maybe that was made with purpose and exactly how you wanted it). At 2 min 7 sec on the final music video the lights turns on too quickly on the three women in my opinion. Maybe should have been lit up from first frame in case you had issues fading it. OIher than that I LOVE this video. More than well done!

      All of the takes had pros and cons, and such is the way with a one-take film, but I honestly remember the moment that lighting cue was a fraction late like it was yesterday. The goal of absolute perfection in our work is impossible, and yet the thing that keeps pushing me to this day. I always wondered if anyone else would notice these little things or care, and I guess now I know! It's the ying in the yang that keeps me striving to do better.

      @@OliverKember I'm sorry :) But trust me, you got me going on this. I'm inspired. I just received my own Steadicam with Volt system two weeks ago as well.
