Huddled on a forgotten lifeboat set adrift in the middle of a vast ocean of tears/silver.
Chaol and Celaena shippers (was there ever even a good ship name?):
They were on a rowboat that was drenched in oil and set aflame and went up in an inferno every time chaol opened his mouth.
Then as they clung to the charred pieces of wood they were smashed into bits on the rocky surf...
Rowlin? shippers:
Cruising in a majestic pirate ship (like the one from Peter Pan that could fly) that rose up out of the ocean with the sunrise in the background and the Anthem of the World playing while welcoming the surviving chaol shippers to climb aboard.

I was totally on board with Chaol and Celeana up until this book. I like Chaol with Celeana, but Celeana is no longer Celeana anymore. She's Aelin. And I prefer Aelin with Rowan, so I just don't know how to feel anymore.

I was a Chaoleana shipper but I hated Sorscha with a passion. 😂 She just seemed like a fangirl or a person who idolized Dorian. The whole time when she was thinking of him, I was thinking: Dorian is too good for you *snaps fingers sassily.* She just sounded so much a like a fangirl and it also seemed really fishy at first that she knew pretty much everything from the past two books. Lesson learned: We all hate Sorscha no matter if we ship Celorian or Chaolaena. (P.S. Hate Chaol after Queen of Shadows, that jerk.)

I was a hardcore Celaena/Chaol shipper for the first two books. But once Rowan started opening up in Heir of Fire, I think I realized Chaol wasn't endgame. And at the end when she took off the ring, I knew she had moved on. And I don't necessarily think it was about not being about to forgive him because of Nehemia. I feel like she could have forgiven him in time. But I think it's because she had allowed herself to be Aelin for the first time since her childhood. Chaol and Celaena were together, but not Chaol and Aelin. I feel happy that they've parted ways and have found love in other people. Especially because HOLY HELL ROWAN. Hot damn, I am waiting for a sex scene between those two because every scene they were teasing each other was hot as hell. I love Rowan and I'm so glad he decided to let himself be with Aelin, even if something were to happen to one of them and it destroys the other. He needed to find love again and Aelin needed someone to ground her. I ship Rowan/Aelin hard.
the minute Rowan entered heir of fire I started shipping him with Aelin more than any ship I've ever shipped, I was so confused because no one else seemed to ship them and I was just drying with the ship and all the bffs bullshit AND NOW MY OTP HAS RISEN AND I AM THE HAPPIEST HUMAN BEING ALIVE I'm so blessED. they're perfect together LIKE I ALWAYS KNEW THEY WOULD BE. I seriously screamed when Rowan came in Queen of shadows I was so happy.

OMG, I LOST IT at the part of the dinner scene where Rowan went up to Arobynn like "thanks for the oil, my skin was a little dry." I was laughing hysterically. And then when his knee jerked up and hit the table as they were mind-talking about 17 year old Celaena... basically all of the Rowaelin banter scenes made me laugh.

I loved the part at the end where Aelin made Lysandra a Lady of Terrasen and gave her the land. Kinda hope she names it Lysandraland. :P xD

in Heir of Fire Manon briefly mentioned a High Queen of the Wastes with wine-red hair (sound familiar? Assassin and the Red Desert?) and then in QoS they mentioned riders going out to tell everyone that Aelin was alive, and one of them told the High Queen of the Wastes... and it says that Aelin will call in every debt ever owed to Celaena Sardothien, and Ansel owed her for sparing her life and giving her back her father's sword... (hint hint hint hint hint)
plus, they mentioned Rolfe a couple times, and I'm hoping he and Aelin will butt heads again ;D

As someone who shipped Rowan and Aelin but was like, "Nah, there is some hinting, but they're probably just going to remain friends though," I am so happy this book has been such a gift.

and I was really confused about the witches, too, like they were using the term witch and witchling interchangeably and I was so confused as to how they reproduced without diluting their bloodlines??
I've also been confused all along about Aelin's heritage because Aedion is half fae but they are cousins, but they refer to Aelin as a full fae and haven't made any remarks to suggest otherwise so WHAT IS THE TRUTH

+TheMattGrimes Aelin is a descendent of fae from her mother's side. She has to use magic to go into her fae form, pointed ears, enhanced senses, fire magic and all. Aedion is half fae and has pointed ears and enhanced senses all the time.
+TheMattGrimes Oh and as for the witches, witches are adult witches. Witchlings are kids/babies. Witches were initially born from fae and Valg parents. Descendants can be made if a witch has sex with another male human, fae, etc.

@@angeladavidson2350 i agree. It made no sense to blame her for it. But in general their fight after meeting in the sewers was nonsensical. They kept attacking each other for things that weren't their fault. Last time they saw each other before she left Chaol said he loved her. So conclusion: that fight was just to sink any shios of chaol and aelin to the depths and make room for rowaelin.

This is probably the best book talk from you I've ever watched! Raw emotions are the best, and it's amazing how coherent and organized with your thoughts you still are despite being obviously consumed with feels haha!
One of my favourite bits of the book was when chaol woke up after the glass castle was destroyed and it was like 'The Afterworld looked an awful lot like a bedroom in the stone castle.'

You're so mean to Chaol, it makes my heart hurt. You don't give him enough credit! And while I agree that Chaolaena is not likely to happen (which I'll be okay with as long as they stay close friends) I think that Celorian has a slim chance also. Like he was pretty set on Sorscha, who I absolutely hated, and OMG remember when Dorian said he couldn't remember a lot of things from when the demon prince was inside of him? Well guess what he did remember? MANON'S NAME!!!!!!!!!!!

LOVED THIS BOOKTALK (and all your others for that matter)! I think that this is the best book in the series so far, I absolutely LOVED it! I loved all the battle scenes as per usual, especially the Manon vs. Aelin showdown!
I think Chaol and Nesryn will run into the healer and Ansel from The Assassins Blade in the 5th book

TBH the only think that annoys me in this series is that the author it not capable of writing a male character that doesn't want to kill or fuck the main character, oh and the cycle of making ONE guy seems awesome in each book and make all the other male character appear emo/idiots/jealous in comparison book, Dorian> Chaol > Rowan/Aedion. Yeah that's really annoying. I'm just waiting the next book for something go wrong with Rowan and someone more "awesome" appear and fall in love for Aelin.

Christine, I absolutely love love love watching your booktalks because they resonate so much with me!!! You express the same feelings that I have while reading these books and I find it so entertaining and amazing to watch!!! :D
This book made me SO FREAKING CONFUSED on who to ship. Right now, I only seriously ship Celaena/Aelin with Dorian, but I don't MIND Aelin and Rowan or Dorian and Manon. I like Nesryn and Chaol together, and I like Lysandra and Aedion, but I don't really ship them, yet.
But I feel like Celaena/Dorian should be endgame if she's still mortal, but I don't think it's gonna happen 😭😭
But how freaking cool was the ending though?? When Aelin and Dorian joined together and fought the darkness from the king, and I felt so bad when the king returned to the person he had used to be, I mean I just felt bad for everyone possessed by the Valg in this book because most of them were once nice, kind people and now they were just forced to do terrible things.
Also, Dorian coming back to himself YESS.
I like Manon, I really enjoyed seeing her develop feelings, and start to feel sympathy and care for other people. I can't wait to see her give her Grandmother what she deserves. That witch needs to die, ASAP.
Also that scene when magic returned?? OMG and Lysandra shifting into that ghost leopard?? It was so frickin amazing I can't even. And Kaltain sacrificing herself to kill everyone in that dungeon, and to bring down Morath....YESSS
I've loved reading these books, binging them over the past few days. Sarah J. Maas is an amazing author. She's definitely made my favourites list along with Cassandra Clare and JK Rowling.
I don't know how, but I'm enjoying every single book in this series even more than the last and I can't freaking WAIT till Empire of Storms, it's gonna be amazing.
I was shocked by millions of things in this book, and I don't know why - but I can't get over the Roland bit!
No wait... I've been shipping Manon with Elide this whole time. I've had a whole theory that they will be together. When Manon and Dorian were looking at each other I just saw it as just friendly. Emphasis on "just friend"
The scene with Elide when she talk about hope to Manon and at the end when she learn from Manon that Aelin is alive.... Ahhhh.. I died.
Kalthain at the end in the cave. Another one of my favourite heart breaking scene and also when she mentioned they didn't allow her to bring celeana's cloak along with her. :'(
My current ships are ROWAELIN ♥, Manorian (but quite possibly Manon and Elide instead), Chaol and Nesryn, and slightly on the Lysandra and Aedion ship. Perhaps Dorian will find someone new (though I was SUPER glad when Sorscha died, I didn't like her), or will turn out to not need a partner and rule Adarlan himself. I also am so confused on how people ship Lysandra and Lorcan. Like ??? they barely had ANY interaction tf? And even though I'm kinda on the Lysandra and Aedion ship, I wouldn't mind Aedion turning out to be gay, and be the major gay couple Sarah said will be in EoS! ALSO at 8:07 TRUTH!
