It's a nice V8 luxury car. Costs more than an Infiniti Q45, but if you can afford to foot the bill for German car parts and the premium gas, it's a good winner-goes-home car. Nostalgia!

Noice! Still room for improvement with the mufflers though...
There is a baffle that doesn't open until full throttle. Still not loud enough. I had my whole exhaust straight piped on my 2011 550i and added quad tips. Sounded amazing.

@Baj Leet I had my exhaust cut off from the catalytic converters back. He used 2.5 " pipe and ran duals all the way to where the mufflers were. I bought some nice dual outlet chrome tips off of Amazon and had him weld those on as well. It sounded AMAZING! Especially during hard acceleration. I wish I would have kept it now.
@Baj Leet I basically left the catalytic converters on and removed the two resonators and mufflers in one section. If you can afford it I would possibly buy 3" exhaust but it still sounds great with 2.5" piping.

Tricky to do this with Bimmer V8s. Their turbos muffle all of the exhaust sound, unlike MBs "hot vee" setup. I agree those rear mufflers need to go, but it won't open it up drastically.

That’s about right I got the money to do exhaust mod but that headlight LED that’s is burnt out nah I’ll let that be. Lol Anyone can drive a beemer but only a rich man can maintain it
i mean... i use to drive a honda ....and the. i said F this and took a job with a big shipping company...means more $$$ not gonna like a bit more pricey than the honda but worth every damn dollar... so what i like to say is if your not living how you would love to live then that means you need to find a job with higher pay

The resonators don't do much when it comes to loudness, they just control the tone of the exhaust. The mufflers on the other hand do

Just took the mufflers off my 2016 e550. Cabin sound is great. Outside sound is no different 😑

Ironically I just bout a used 2014 550Xdrive because it has the upgraded N63TU engine. When I checked under the car, it was missing the mufflers. Rear res is still there though. The car definitely sounds Beefy without the muffler even with the res still in, it's more noticeable than the car shown here.

No shit a muffler delete will open it up. What he really needs is downpipes to get rid of the other 2 cats. But id say save the money for that headlight.
If anyone ever sees this, I’m thinking of switching my car to a 550i. Any good advice (pros and cons)?
I have a 2011 bmw 550i and 9/10 it's the baddest thing on the road. I have had it for just under 1 year and I've probably spent already 2-3k on fixing lol so she's a picky b*tch but you feel like the president while driving it . It's more of a computer then a car keep in mind. I recommend this computer to anyone who has some money in the bank.
It’s pretty reasonable, my brother got one with 45k miles for 14k the dealership worked on the car before we bought it. Had only 2 owners so the car was kept pretty decently. Just don’t get one high mileage. Normal maintenance on this car is 1-4k then parts that go bad are different. Can be anything from 600-5000$ so be ready to drop that kinda money to keep her running like a dime, change the oil every 3-5k miles and you’ll be set. Beats pretty much every other sedan in its class and even some modern bmw
