    Hi! Glad I found you! I just got with the tour with Aveda and Empire Bloomington today. I like the fact that Empire has a part time course since I am working full time. From this video, I’m hearing you say that it doesn’t matter what school you go to and to just go to a accredited cosmetology program and get your certificate since you will learn the additional stuff outside anyways, right?
    What are some of the things that you liked and didn’t like about Empire or recommendations??

    • @Yelenahallum
      @Yelenahallum 11 месяцев назад +2

      Hi, congrats on touring schools. So exciting!! I like that empire is very flexible when it comes to your schedule and if you have to miss days you can easily make up hours.
      It's pretty easy going as long as you're focusing on you and your goals.
      There is a lot of drama but if you stay away from it, you'll sail right through school.
      I didn't like how we didn't learn any new outside techniques, but school is just the basics so just do your own learning outside:)
      Hope this helps!

    In light of it being student loan forgiveness have you applied for that or did you have to pay for everything out of pocket. Pell Grant only covers 10,000-maybe 11,000 leaving you on about 13,000 loans. What's supplies do you have to use?? Happy Easter 🌼🐇🥚🌷🐇🐇🌷🌷🥚🥚🐇🌼💯‼️🎉🥇💎🥰📺📽️🐇🌷🐇🥚🥚🐇🌼🐇🙋🏻‍♀️

    Hey, I'm a 20yr old guy and I think I might be interested in cosmetology. Is this a career you would suggest, as far as making a living?
    I was working in the steel industry and I was having alot of trouble out of the guys that were working there. I'm thinking of working a "regular job", my focus is now towards the quality of life and what makes me happy.. I was happy with where I had worked, but I kept having issues.
    I'm trying to be honest with myself, I can honestly see myself painting women's nails or cutting men's hair for a living. But how expandable is this field and how rewarding is it?

    • @Yelenahallum
      @Yelenahallum Год назад +3

      Hi, thank you so much for that comment. I really admire your honesty. I think you should do what makes you happy regardless of what anyone says or thinks. You can always be successful if it's something you truly want to do. Just like any other career, you will get out of it what you put into it.
      You can definitely make a good living out of being a cosmetologist. I would say go for it if you are passionate about it! It is extremely rewarding if you like making people feel beautiful inside and out. You can definitely make great lifelong connections/friendships.
      I hope it all works out, Good luck to you :)

    You're wrong about the smaller local schools being the same as the big fancy schools. Perhaps Aveda isn't what they say they are but I know for a fact that Vidal Sassoon and Toni and Guy have superior education and that someone who graduates from either one of those two is light years ahead of anyone who didn't. I know not everyone can afford to go to those schools especially if they don't live in the same town. It's a broken system and most beauty schools are promising to teach basics but they're not doing that. They're teaching irrelevant and poor techniques that teach bad habits and people are allowing them to get away with it simply because "that's the way it is". This attitude has hurt the entire industry. Have you looked at the national average income for hair stylists? It's so low because our standards are low. These schools are not and cannot teaching anyone the basics and I'm sorry but when a person graduates after putting life on hold and going into debt, shouldn't they at least be able to cut a straight line at natural fall? Or even know what natural fall is?! Or give a proper consultation? They can't even hold a comb properly...We need to stop letting this happen.
