@@mollynicolehome yeah i been looking through them I saw the one you uploaded on 2018 but i would love to see differents income from the first year you started to now one recently hopefully you keep us update it . thank you.
this is such a helpful video thanks girl! I want to go to cosmetology school, i'm very passionate about makeup+ hair I just keep questioning whether it is the right choice because of money and benefits and all that but I know it will be something I would regret not doing in the future!
Highly considering starting cosmetology school in January. I already visited a school in my area that seems like such a good fit. Hopefully it all works out!
okay I will give credit where credit is due I believe you are the one that I watched about not putting a couple years ago as well I didn't realize that was you until you just mentioned it but I totally agree with everything you just said being said I don't think there's enough content with people and their experiences with this of career.... but you have a very good attitude character and you're personable.. .... I definitely don't have any problem listening to what you have to say you're not monotone you don't, repetitive, or boring....SO TY SO MUCH!!!! 😊😊
I've wanted to go to cosmetology school since I was in middle school. I graduated high school early to start and then when I went into the school here, it was such a bad environment. I never went and I'm sad, but i won't go to this school. Now I'm a sahm and am pretty much waiting until our next base to find a better school.
Great video! I am assisting at an Aveda salon, and I've done really well there so far. My boss should be letting me know soon if/when they will start training me to be a stylist.
Me and my best friend that I've known since I was in kindergarten we are going to cosmetology school and work on the entrepreneur we plan on making a boutique kind of like a lush?
I can relate to this 100% percent. I recently got my Cosmetology license in New York State about 6 months ago, but I am in such a small town and I only make commission so it can be terrible! Especially driving into work every single day when you don't even have any appointments😭
I want to own a salon but start off as an esthetician(makeup, hair and brows) I'm planning on going to college for business, then beauty school after. I'm a junior in high school. I'm not 100% but I'm pretty interested. I've always been passionate about hair and makeup, I love doing it on my friends and sisters. Do you have any suggestions for me? Thanks, amazing video!
I think you mean cosmetologist. An esthetician only works on skincare, nails, and makeup application, while I cosmetologist does that along with hair! :)
Me too! I mean, I am an esthetician not working with hair but buisness wise these fields are quite similar, so yeah... great idea, hope Molly sees this :)
Hi I just watched you cosmology career update video... And wanna know which career is better cosmetology or esthesian .Am asking because you are already in beauty industry so you may help me.
yes you should tip at least 18 % sometimes they work a LONG time with people and there hair sometimes people arn' t always that easy I would no Starbucks is all about people
I feel like that's on you. Three years in the business and you're only making minimum wage money. I feel like its all about how you hustle, network, skill etc.
Marvelousmollie03 oh that's right I forgot you said that. That's awesome you get to set your own prices! I'm an employee too on commission but our salon has the set price that our boss controls.
What is $1 gonna do? Lmao if you cant afford to tip, then maybe you shouldn't be getting services done where people are spending hours of their time to make you happy, and all their worth is one lousy dollar? You obviously need that more than they do. Pathetic
Actually Angelica Morrill-YOU are the one coming off as pathetic. The lady was just saying "If that is all you can afford please do because it is better than nothing." And let me tell you that IF I can afford to tip then I do. HOWEVER in the event that I cannot afford to tip BUT I do have enough money to get my hair done I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO DO THAT. Tips are not required!!! My God if I am paying a couple of hundred dollars for my color then I would think THAT is plenty...MORE than plenty. If the only people that got their hair done was those who could afford to tip then TRUST me there would be NO money to be made in this business. If you are not setting your prices where you can make some money that is on YOUR DUMB ASS, not mine. P.S. YOU are a hunk of shit. PATHETIC
Yeah no some people are very entitled and will get mad if you don't tip them 20%. Its ridiculous. They should be grateful for whatever they get. It's the entitled attitude that makes people not go back and trust me that type of bad attitude will radiate off of people.
I love you!! And you are an amazing hair dresser!!! I have seen some pictures of your clients Hair that you have done on your instagram and their hair always looks gorgeous😍😍😍 xoxo
I always tip but I think people expecting a certain amount is entitlement. Tipping is absolutely voluntary and its supposed to signify that the person is happy beyond the price with their service. It was never meant to be welfare or a handout.
She just said without tips they get paid less than minimum wage and she makes a small commission. It’s not a set salary based on hours at work. Tips are paying for a service. You pay for your food at a restaurant and the money goes to them, you tip based on the service your waitress gave.
Marvelousmollie03 it's not toooo bad if your salon does hourly or commission which ever is greater. but still you go to school to make minimum wage at first 👎
and she didnt mentioned how much she makes keep us updated please.
I have a few newer cosmetology update videos on my channel where I mention that. If you look through my videos you’ll find them :)

LMAO I just applied for school I'm paying 17000 for this degree and I didn't even do any research on what degree I'm getting or why getting it
Thank you for keeping it 100%!!!
A basic rule is if you can’t afford to tip %20 you can’t afford the service 🤷♀️
THANK YOU 🙌🏼
I agree on the tip subject, especially if they are happy with the services!
Definitely would love yearly update vids 💞
Me too! I mean, I am an esthetician not working with hair but buisness wise these fields are quite similar, so yeah... great idea, hope Molly sees this :)

I feel like that's on you. Three years in the business and you're only making minimum wage money. I feel like its all about how you hustle, network, skill etc.
I'm on my 5th year and making almost triple what I was in this video so I think I'm doing something right now 🤷🏻♀️😝 lol
Loved this video. And as a fellow hairstylist, I 100% agree about the tips too. Do you do booth rental at your salon or are you an employee?
Marvelousmollie03 oh that's right I forgot you said that. That's awesome you get to set your own prices! I'm an employee too on commission but our salon has the set price that our boss controls.
Marvelousmollie03 nope. Our boss decides when we raise the prices & to what at the salon. The stylists have no control over that.
Your makeup ❤️
What highlighter is on your cheeks cause it's amazing!!!!!
Must be sold out online I didn't see it bummer!!
This is so discouraging to hear 😰😳
Why would it be discouraging?
great video 👍
very helful, thanks
Even a dollar or five dollar tip is good. Some people may see it as cheap. But if u have to save money or dont have much its good to me

You have beautiful wide-set eyes. I would recommend not using highlighter in the inner corners :)
highlighter in the inner corner makes u look more awake and just looks pretty

Love 👩👍👩👍
I think people forget tips are just a nice gesture sometimes people can only just pay for their service. That's why you get paid a salary.
stylists are not paid salary
Nice gesture my ass. if you can’t afford to tip the bare minimum then you should just not go in for any service.
She just said without tips they get paid less than minimum wage and she makes a small commission. It’s not a set salary based on hours at work. Tips are paying for a service. You pay for your food at a restaurant and the money goes to them, you tip based on the service your waitress gave.
