Sawubona- is shorten for siyakubona which means "we see you."
It's in pural because we believe you do not travel alone, your ancestors are always with you and to acknowledge that, we say "we (me and my ancestors) see you (you and your ancestors)"

      Sanibonani👋🏾
South Africans take greeting very serious. However if you greet then In their language. Especially if they know you can't speak the language. They will be super welcoming. Just for that humbleness of you going further by trying.
I think the reason why so many South Africans gravitate to your channel is because of your level of respect. Also being sensitive & open to others cultures & customs.
Got no doubt the day you make your way here. You gonna feel that South African love & warmth first hand

Im Xhosa but the Zulu language is soft, agreeable and easier to speak, its a much easier language to learn to speak. Its similar to alot of languages and understood by other ethnic groups and races too. You guys are doing very well on the pronunciation by the way..no cap. In fact thats exactly how you speak it. And yes onr may agye its sexy too.

Sawubona. I believe it is learnable. I have a video where I teach all the sounds in isiZulu. And I'm sure they'll get it just fine. However, if you want to annoy amaZulu, amaXhosa, amaSwati and amaNdebele, pronounce the HL as an SL like you just said. People don't play with that one. They just hate it. And I kind of get where they are coming from with that.
