The most punk rock thing I ever seen at warped tour was a kid throw a rock at the yoo-hoo van and yelled "anarchy" after they'd been giving us free yoo-hoo all day instead of free water. Quite a few kids ended up dehydrated in the medic tent that day because it turns out yoo-hoo doesn't help with hydration.
this people really are more invested in making old guys nostalgic instead of making gen z cool new shows and tours, that is really what we need. A lot of people my age , me included, would absolutely love to go to this shows if the tickets weren't $150 and they were actually targeted to young alternative people.
@@b1gnutt for real…. I remember paying $15 in 04&05 and then $30 in 06! Fast forward to when we were young in 2022 and paying $350 for a normal GA ticket… that is hella far away from the stage with shitty set times that overlap… if I hadn’t snuck into the VIP area by the main stage I wouldn’t have thought it was worth it but I missed out on most of the bands that were on the other stages.. haven’t gone back since it’s not worth it
I went to warped tour from 1999-2004 as an attendee and worked event staff in 05. I ened up getting fired that day for crowd surfing during rancid in my blue polo shirt and khaki shorts. My boss was the one who caught me when I got thrown over the rail and fired me on the spot.

I had friends in a few bands and they would invite me to a couple dates on the tour and through 2008-2012 I did a couple weeks helping with merch or equipment etc… and I had an amazing experience with so many memories, but sadly I did see a lot of things I wish I hadn’t.. it’s sad to think about honestly and it kinda has tainted those years that I cherished so much
If they wanna do a proper 30 year anniversary...quicksand, L7, helmet, sublime, no doubt, and orange 9mm are all back together! Would be cool just to get those bands on a bill! And Tony hawk doing some 360 flips on the half pike!
Warped Tour 2018 was the worst concert I ever went to. CKY was the only band I cared about there and their set sucked. Jess Margera was hammered and yelled "Y'all wanna hear the song from Tony Hawk 3?" Then proceeds to drunkenly mumble 96 quite bitter beings with no enthusiasm. Didn't even phone it in. He mailed it in.
That was my major issue with the tour, it was almost all bands that didn't really have the chutzpah to play to a big crowd like that properly. Especially the mall-emo stuff, it was ALL production.

Its because they weren't there. Idk if you notice but I notice that emo culture seems to be more popular in hindsight than it actually was. That's not to say it wasn't super popular and the dominating subculture but I was someone who was severely bullied for dressing like a scene kid and liking metal. I was one of maybe like 2 or 3 in my whole school too that was like full out like that. I've always found it to be an interesting phenomenon that suddenly everyone is obsessed with it. My theory is that maybe I was bullied so hard because they did secretly like it but for whatever reason were too scared or maybe not allowed to embrace it. Now they all kind of pretend like they were there the whole time. They get excited over warped coming back because they have literally never been to it or seen most of the bands. They're uncanny valley punks. Post MGK. I hate that it will likely take the direction of brining in old and really big bands only and charming a fortune instead of keeping it's spirit a lot of being a semi diy festival that's meant to help smaller bands get out there by pairing them with *some* really big names. I don't want a whole line up of artists who's career it already kicked off 20+ years ago. You can have a few but the rest should be smaller and current bands.

*(Warning... sorry for the long comment)* My 1st WT was in '96 at Mosport Park in Bowmanville, Ontario Canada... got to see so many awesomesauce bands, and some not so awesome. Missed the '97 tour. Went in '98, '99, '00 -'09 (took a few yrs break being a new mother), returned for 2013 - 2016. Warped Tour gave me some of the best summers of my youth! (also went to Lalapalooza, ScreamFest, JazzFest and many many other music events). Sometimes, if bands I really wanted to see were not playing in my province, we'd drive to a different province, and even drove to the States, to see bands play. 😂 A Vast majority of WT bands "Made It Big", and are still making music and rocking out today. Bands got to make friends, and enemies while touring with hundreds of other bands across America and Canada. I am truly thankful for my youth, (being a Gen X'r)... as the times have truly changed... and not for the better. 😢 Sadly Gen Z'rs & A (and some Millenials) won't get to experience Live Music events, like we did back in the day. I truly hope that my kid and her friends will get to experience the music scene, or close to, like we did back in the day. But due to inflation, not just ticket prices, but SAFETY is not what it used to be. These days, concertgoers have to worry about getting to and from the venue, costs, more importantly... their safety and just trying to make sure they arrive home safe and alive. 😢 Hearing the news that WT is coming back, ontop it'll be the 30th Anniversary, _seems_ like it'll be amazing... except for the simple truth... that it won't be _"Kevin Lyman Vans Warped Tour"_ ... but rather it'll be _"Live Nations Warped Tour with guest host Kevin Lyman"._ One thing I loved was seeing each year, was chilling with Kevin Lyman, the bands and stage guys... Kevin would always be rocking out in his poncho and sombrero and double fisting, as he socialized with guests and bands. Yes, some bands got shyte deals, and/or didn't get treated as they should, but some bands also caused problems for their bandmates & other bands to miss out on the good "Warped Tour experience". One thing for sure was that Lyman usually only gave bands "One Chance". If the band, or member of the band, effed up, or got on Kevins wrong side, that was it. I can recall many of my friends (who were in bands), would cram themselves in their "tour bus" aka their own beatup cars and vans, towing a trailer full of their gear, drive to the venue, have a blast meeting new people, gaining new fans, meet and greets, sleep in their "tour bus" (beatup cars/vans) around 1am, wakeup at 4am to drive to the next venue. The only bands who got an actual "Tour Bus" that wasn't beatup, or on its last leg with bald tires, no A/C etc... were the Headliners, IF They were lucky. If Non-Headliners, who were not signed, had a good ride (van/bus), meant someone had money. But in all honesty, most bands couldn't even afford to buy a $0.69 McDonalds cheeseburger... they would save up their money prior to the tour, penny saving, to make sure that they had fuel and emergency funds for repairs. Their transportation and instruments were all they had, and a backpack of clothes. That was what it was like "touring". Thankfully Kevin fed them, always making sure that the venues, were stocked with food and refreshments. 😊 It wasn't until the 2000s, after more bands got signed by a label and were given decent to good "Tour Buses" and proper sleeping accommodations. I hope that LiveNation does not charge an arm, a leg and a kidney for one ticket. I am disappointed that LV will be Warped Tours Handlers... We shall see. If the prices are decent, I will definitely be taking my teen and her friends... hope many other WT OGs will be there too. 🤘🫰 Cheers! (Sorry, again, for the long comment)🥱
When I heard about it, I thought it was cool. Now personally, I’m just gonna wait and see what happens with it before I jump to anything. If it’s not remotely what I’m interested, I definitely won’t be going. It just wouldn’t be for me, and that’s ok. Looking more for punk/ska and reasonably priced. Not getting my hopes up though.
Dan I went to Warp Tour once in 2001, met Lars of Rancid and had a cool moment with him that showed me how much of a stand up guy he really is. Walked around with the singer of Phoenix FTX, got kissed by a random hot chick, Met Pauley Perett the gothic chick on CSI when she was in this band at that warp tour called LO - Ball she actually gave me a free demo that was 5 dollars cause i was out of money at the time i saw them. Overall it was one of the coolest tours I've ever been to.
It's sad to see the tour that introduced me to Big D and the Kids Table getting the Pet Cemetary treatment like this after all the suffering it went through on It's death bed 😰
awhile back I stole my parents CD books so I could hear some more music, my dad had some old DVDs with the videos of two stages from warp tour 2002 on them, made me chuckle. He also had some old sample CD's that were being handed out at Skate by the Surf, one of them is from punkcore records haha
It be cool if it was 07 08 or 09 again with those lineups and without livenation. Got to meet Shooter Jennings in 2009 warped tour and became actual friends with him have hung out with him multiple times since. There’s quite a few other bands/artists I got cool with but he was the 1st
Baby it’s not the win you’d like it to be. I promise. This will be an expensive bootleg version. You had to be there. But they should make you guys some new festivals to be iconic in your generation.
I disagree to a point. Have you looked at the Billboard charts recently? 95% of it is single artists with teams of songwriters writing their songs for them. Bands are almost nonexistent. Warped tour gives new bands a venue to showcase their craft and build a following. At least it’s a “win” for bands.
Yeah but the bands aren’t really that good. These new bands are just rip offs of old bands & knowing how Kevin caters to scene beans the line up is gonna mostly have paramore wannabe bands.
@@marlondavis9450 I don’t disagree with you but it happens in every scene. The hair metal scene, the grunge scene, the pop punk scene, the metalcore scene, etc. There’s the originators and everyone else are imitators. Maybe Kevin and Livenation need to be more selective in finding fresh sounds instead of going for the obvious cash grab.
@@ronwilliams1094they won't have any new bands or smaller bands. Its going to be bands that have been around 15+ years that everyone probably already knows.
Even if those allegations never happened, this s*** was a long past its sell by date. But beyond that it wasn't just a bad seed, it was a systemic problem. It was a completely tainted brand. You know what that is right, a brand? And brands can be tainted. You could still build together a tour of punk bands if you want, but why associate I ate it with warped? This is just a creation of the music industry at this point to smash as much money out of nostalgia as they possibly can.
They might have something to stand on if they stuck with one genre of music over the years, but after they chased the emo scene for popularity it all went downhill. You went from Green Day and Blink 182 to My Chemical Romance lol.
Is anyone even gonna go to this? Sure its like a nostalgia thing, but with ticket prices these days? It just seems like a sketchy cash grab. Who knows maybe it will flop like blue ridge or something. I personally wouldnt spend my money on it.
in the 90's, it was mostly just fat/epitaph/asianman bands and major label post-hardcore, ska and 'pop' punk bands. in 1997? the headliners were insane clown posse and limp biscuit... warped tour was lame out the gate. i didn't go to shows yet but if i had the money and the means i would have gone in 1995. my first show wasn't till dec. 12 1995
I went to warped tour in 97 i think it was.. Nofx, Rancid, Eeeka mouse, it was sooo bad ass! But as I saw how the years were going by and that they weren't booking really great punk and ska bands. I didnt want to go.
dude you cant not get into allegations you bring up 17 times in a minute and leave your audience in the dark about, watch a video its supposed to inform your audience, grow a back bone and talk about shit or dont talk about the topic at all. now i have to go find another video to look into wtf you were talking about! who does that!
So in the uk we didnt have warped tour but we had NASS fest. National Adventure Sports Show. cos the uk is so small, there didnt need to be a tour, so a fest it was . Think it startyed in 99. I went every year for like 8 years. it was crazy. so many drugs, bands, fights crazyness. it got to a point where every yeart there would be a massive fires that evereyome burnt anything they wanted but ended up getting out of hand oh yeah, there was extreme sports too but it was just a big mash up really

It wasn't until the 2000s, after more bands got signed by a label and were given decent to good "Tour Buses" and proper sleeping accommodations.
I hope that LiveNation does not charge an arm, a leg and a kidney for one ticket.
I am disappointed that LV will be Warped Tours Handlers...
We shall see.
If the prices are decent, I will definitely be taking my teen and her friends... hope many other WT OGs will be there too.
🤘🫰
Cheers!
(Sorry, again, for the long comment)🥱
I was on the Warped Tour from 98 to 2009. and the last two years the decline had begun. pop, rap and emo it was the end
What’s your favorite DRI song?
I wanna rock n Roll all day
Beneath the wheel
I'm still waiting for ozzfest to make a comeback. (that or the family values tour)
I think u mean Family Values and I totally agree. That would be insane
@danframpt0n yes. I just noticed lol. Those 2 are what we should be bringing back.
@danframt0n you are getting it! Thanks for keeping me up on the only news that matters.
I'm hyped ur enjoying the content. Thank u
I think the first year's were also pretty Eclectic. Eminem, Deftones, Ice T
🥞🥞🥞
Dan I went to Warp Tour once in 2001, met Lars of Rancid and had a cool moment with him that showed me how much of a stand up guy he really is. Walked around with the singer of Phoenix FTX, got kissed by a random hot chick, Met Pauley Perett the gothic chick on CSI when she was in this band at that warp tour called LO - Ball she actually gave me a free demo that was 5 dollars cause i was out of money at the time i saw them. Overall it was one of the coolest tours I've ever been to.
That's a stacked memory lol
Phoenix FTX…?
Fenix TX?
Vans coachella/warped tour
It's sad to see the tour that introduced me to Big D and the Kids Table getting the Pet Cemetary treatment like this after all the suffering it went through on It's death bed 😰
BIg D and TKT are awesome. noise complaint.
It's dark times for sure
warped tour, more like corp't tour
Hahaha good one
awhile back I stole my parents CD books so I could hear some more music, my dad had some old DVDs with the videos of two stages from warp tour 2002 on them, made me chuckle. He also had some old sample CD's that were being handed out at Skate by the Surf, one of them is from punkcore records haha
Treasures
It be cool if it was 07 08 or 09 again with those lineups and without livenation. Got to meet Shooter Jennings in 2009 warped tour and became actual friends with him have hung out with him multiple times since. There’s quite a few other bands/artists I got cool with but he was the 1st
It's too bad the reputation of the fest got scuffed
as someone who was to young to go to warped tour when it was a thing, and now loves that kind of music, I see this as a win.
lol 🪱
Enjoy the Cosby puddin
Baby it’s not the win you’d like it to be. I promise. This will be an expensive bootleg version. You had to be there. But they should make you guys some new festivals to be iconic in your generation.
@@DAnthony14 u right
Thanks for posting a reasonable take on this shit.
So going by your logic Dan, should entire sports organisations be forced to stop participating if there is a bad seed in the club?
no mate
here king u dropped this... L
So much sweeping these days !!!
🧹🧹🧹
They might have something to stand on if they stuck with one genre of music over the years, but after they chased the emo scene for popularity it all went downhill. You went from Green Day and Blink 182 to My Chemical Romance lol.
this still hasn't been confirmed, and I won't believe it til I see some solid release
I wouldn't put it passed Rock Feed for running a dud
Lostprophets used to play Warped Tour as well and everyone knows what happened there…
Awkward. Saucy. WARPED!
Warpy
Oh mannnnn this is wild stuff
Lol it sure is
What’s next? P Diddy and Suge Knight financing the return of FREAKNIK??!??
Let’s gooo
🥞🥞🥞
Is anyone even gonna go to this? Sure its like a nostalgia thing, but with ticket prices these days? It just seems like a sketchy cash grab. Who knows maybe it will flop like blue ridge or something. I personally wouldnt spend my money on it.
Oh, people will go and I'll be here to make fun of them
I went to the last warp tour
in the 90's, it was mostly just fat/epitaph/asianman bands and major label post-hardcore, ska and 'pop' punk bands. in 1997? the headliners were insane clown posse and limp biscuit... warped tour was lame out the gate. i didn't go to shows yet but if i had the money and the means i would have gone in 1995. my first show wasn't till dec. 12 1995
I went to warped tour in 97 i think it was.. Nofx, Rancid, Eeeka mouse, it was sooo bad ass! But as I saw how the years were going by and that they weren't booking really great punk and ska bands. I didnt want to go.
The downward spiral happened quick
I thought the original owner sold it and it was always coming back under new management
Bro your blank it doesn’t matter it’s warped it’s going to be sick to see just for the fact of nostalgia
🥾👅
Money, greed and LiveNation are destroying the live concert experience
Bad Omens , Sleep Token , and Spiritbox could headline their own tours
I don’t think they should do this
Agreed
I stopped going in 2003. It changed and no longer had the vibe or the bands that should have been there.
dude you cant not get into allegations you bring up 17 times in a minute and leave your audience in the dark about, watch a video its supposed to inform your audience, grow a back bone and talk about shit or dont talk about the topic at all. now i have to go find another video to look into wtf you were talking about! who does that!
I played warped tour in 2006 on a local stage in San Diego. It definitely was a lot of pomp and circumstance and now with LiveNation...Oy ve. PASS...
Their side stages back in the day were so fire
There are ten bands or more I would have watched in 2018....less than jake at the top of the list. The punkers and screamo were there.
Mark Fisher once again being posthumously vindicated
Imagine if Linkin Park and Foo Fighters headlined it.
Have they ever been headliners together at a festival?
Idk I live under a rock lol
Not sure tbh
Yooooo homie, how's it going?
@@CinFireball yo dawgy same ol hbu yo
livenation was involved before this?
What!????? NOOoooooOoo why
🥞🥞🥞
Pickles (it’s my awkward silence word) great video
Ironic cuz im playing the new Rugrats game as Tommy Pickles
Live Nation. Ugh.
pretty brutal yup
What has fronz done??
Live Nation is sooooooo punk rock. More corporate sponsored fests is what the punk rock world really needs. /s
Damn ill have to look into that
How is fronz a danger to humanity!? Did I miss something
uhhh, he had "relations" with a child
I was at 99 2000 and 2001
This guy was like 2 years old when this was cool
bro im 40 😭😭😭
okay idubbbz
wow, good one. I've never heard that before. comedy genius over here
The only take to have on this tbh
It's so wild lol
Happy googling? You put BONDF with Attila? Googled Attila and the only thing I got was how the dude was gonna buy Warped. Did I miss something?
Bru...where ya been?
*unnecessarily makes this video*
I remember missing 2 years in a row in the 2000s, and when i came back it all turned really ghay
I bought 2 passes for 2 days for 500 :)
Without a lineup announcement. You're literally insane
@@danframpt0n lmfao have you seen past warped tours? Youre literally missing out brother
@@danframpt0nhahahaha bro live music is so fun. Sorry you don’t have enough to go! Past warped tour line ups are enough for me to pay 100 a day. I’ve never even been to a festival so this is a steal brother 😂

yo yoyoyyo Dan yeah we should just leave it in the past. The early days were cool though. late ninties and early two thousands were fun as fuck. no phones. ride bmx all day great times

I used to like front potch step till tge event happened, disappointed in myself tbh
Its nothing to feel bad about we all had to cut ties with one band or another

hahahahaha fk 5 min and thirty three seconds in and I'm now hearing about allegations, I'm more so out of the loop than what I thought 😂😂😂😂😂😂never heard front porch whatever they sound like they suck lol
Hahahaha they do suck

Dude, I've been very critical of your content before. This, however, you hit the nail on the head. It was once great. Then it sucked for a long time. No need for this. Gonna be lame.
