Being a member of the Pomona Valley Historical Society, I’m well acquainted with Spadra cemetery. It is lovingly cared for by our volunteer members. The Halloween tour is our attempt to preserve the cemetery and prevent vandalism. It has been quite successful and very popular. It raises the awareness of our valley’s, rich history, and many people have a new appreciation of Pomona‘s history. We are very lucky to still have the Phillips mansion and many years of dedication to its preservation has resulted in the beautiful house you see today. Many years ago we almost lost this beautiful place as it was made into apartments and was heavily vandalized. It’s been lovingly restored, and is a testament to the pioneers that settled the Pomona valley and the people today who are proud of that legacy

This is awesome. I used to live in Guelph Ontario and located an old, enclosed, much neglected cemetery on its outskirts. I would visit, clear away the weeds from the tombstones, say their names, and wish them well. I now live on the Westcoast and miss my visits. I've heard it said that we die twice. Once when our bodies stop breathing and the 2nd the very last time are names are spoken out loud. Thank you for keeping alive the memories of these individuals. It's done with kindness and respect and none of the gore that so often goes along with these stories. Thank you.

Okay. Walking thru an old cemetery on Halloween at midnight with nothing but a lantern and an iPhone. Please tell me you were not alone or that you at least took some precautions...garlic necklace, wooden stakes, holy water, Bill Murray... Like many other fans of your series, we fear for your safety.
I enjoyed the Heck out of "Old Spadra" and I agree with your Dad. You are an amazing son to your father and an equally amazing former coworker and friend to those that know you...including me. As someone wrote in my high school yearbook, "Keep up the good works up"!

I do have a paranormal experience at spadra. Back in 2011 me, my best friend and his girlfriend enjoyed going to local haunted places. We went to suicide bridge, the enchanted forest and many more places but spadra was the place we’re we actually saw something. We have been to spadra twice at 12am and never experienced anything but the third time we went there it literally change our lives lol we never went to haunted places ever again haha. That night we got to spadra around 1:30 am my friend and his girl were arguing so we were going to leave when the train 🚂 started going by so we could not cross the tracks and that’s the only way out. During the time the train was passing by my friends girlfriend started to cry and my friend told her why was she crying and she said she saw a lady walking by a grave and disappearing into the willow trees so she want to leave but we couldn’t because the train was still going through. It was extremely loud so we could hardly here ourselves talking to each other. So once the train went by we started walking to the cemetery entrance where the chain hangs and we notice someone walking in the path that leads towards the cemetery. So we got scared and went back into cemetery. We observed this person walk past the chain entrance of the cemetery and towards the big hill next to the cemetery. So once he passed by we took that opportunity to leave. Note: we were casually walking out of the cemetery. Once we got to the chain entrance we were back on main path and before we crossed the tracks we saw that solo figure walking back. So my friend got mad and started talking sh#t to it lol when the black silhouette got really close to us my friend walk up to it and shine his flashlight at it that’s when we notice it was wearing a black rob. Look like a catholic monk and that’s when we booked it. We literally raced to the gated entrance and I remember turning around and not seeing nothing like if the monk just vanish in thin air. Ever since then we never went on another paranormal adventure again lmfao

I just happened upon this, thank you for the history of the sad cemetery. I've explored this cemetery during the day, you'd never even know that it's there unless you knew it was there because it's surrounded by industry now, but it's creepy during the day too. No ghost stories from my visit, just feelings of sadness. I was wondering who's house was behind the Phillips Mansion. That place is creepy also.

My friend and I went exploring behind the mansion at that big haunted looking house several times and every time we went at night there was a light on in the upstairs bedroom and every time we got close it would shut off really quick. The crazy part is that that house has no electricity and is completely boarded up. We even tried to get inside to explore but there was no way in. So what possibly could have been up there that had a light on in the first place and knew to turn it off whenever anyone ever got close??!?!?
