I am a black guy who grew up in the 70's and 80's. I love Motown but also love the Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Chicago, Journey, The Doobie Brothers, Hall and Oats etc. I agree with other comments on here. Artist and music was more authentic and better back then in my opinion no matter the genre.

So true! I was in elementary school in the 1970's, and this fluid musical genre phenomenon also carried over into the 80's and 90's. Gosh, I love these new kids listening. My mom refused us the living room for years. We were all musical, and she couldnt tolerate the noise. We got the barn, (no animals in there, they were safely penned outside). Finally, dad gave in. He bought us a pool table, and a big clunky stereo. I'm not sure if you would have ever seen one. A turn table on top, double cassete player underneath, a stereo/radio under that, speakers on the bottom. We sat in the floor, around the stereo, and listened with intent, what we thought we could learn to play. Who had the voice to sing it? Then, out to the barn, to recreate what we learned. A lot of heartache and fear, but, it was a majical time.

70s and 80s loved growing up in these decades music will never be the same. I love when the younger generations start hearing these songs...all of a sudden I'm not an old woman anymore to them. 🤣🤣🤣 I'm 53 and my nephew is 18 and he started hearing some of the songs and now they are on his play list. 🥰🥰🥰

This Time I'm In It For Love was their other big hit from the same album. It's a beautiful song, too. Incidentally, they were on RSO records, which was the same label as The Bee Gees were on. This is from late 1977 and I was 11 at the time this came out. It's like I heard it for the first time again.

Classic 70's man what memories. It's where I developed my love of music. This is before all the electronics and vocal manipulation like they use today. All real harmonies and vocals. Best musicians and set the standard by all that followed. Check out some of the other 70's acts. Look up the Midnight Special with Wolfman Jack. They had all the top musicians on.

I appreciate you going through the lyrics. Most channels don’t even look at the lyrics, and those that do rarely understatement. Often you must know the history of the musicians and the group to know what the song is about. Thanks for this reaction! Stellar.
