SO appreciate the time you guys take to look at formations and squad selection. I can't get enough. :) One thing that I'd love to see more of is time spent on instructions to specific players/roles in a chosen formation.

Maybe it's time for Eustaquio to sit back in the 6, with Kone and Osorio in the more forward midfield roles (in a 4-5-1 or 4-1-4-1 that switches to 4-3-3 in attack)? Kone is proving himself very capable at moving the ball around (buildup play) and Osorio is obviously geared towards doing so while pushing forward (and brings leadership qualities). Against T&T, we became super predictable in our insistence on carrying the ball up from the back. It resulted in T&T progressively pressing more and more forward because they knew we weren't threatening a long ball. So Eustaquio becomes the guy threatening long balls while Kone carries direct and Osorio playmaking in the opposing half?
And this way, God forbid we lose Eustaquio again to overworking, we can fall back on Piette while keeping the same structure. Ahmed maybe starts some times in place of Osorio and/or subs in for him?
    David
    Davies Kone. Osorio Buchanan
    Eustaquio
    Adekugbe. Bombito Vitoria. Johnston

I am guessing basing on what you said around the 4 min mark that Biello will be the Manager for the Copa America. I personally think it is unfortunate as I do believe we need a different manager going into a major competiton.

I hope he's not our manager for the Copa America, however if he is then I'm not expecting Canada to pass group A but to finish dead last.

If we want Bombito for his speed, why not play him beside Vitoria rather than replacing him? If we assume 4 at the back and that Davies is not one of them; maybe Miller, Bombito, Vitoria, Johnston? This keeps the strengths that Vitoria brings (which were clearly missed against T&T) while also bolstering where he's weak. I feel like we saw this lineup once before but can't remember in what match. Anyone remember?

Vitoria is essentially retired at this point. Absolute legend but his time has passed for both club and country at this point.

@@firstflightfilm1628 He's certainly close. Could be the end of the line this June when his contract with Chavez expires. But then, Chavez still seem to be finding him to be highly effective. He played every week this past February, even doing a full 90 mins. I wouldn't be surprised if they signed him for another year. For Canada; I just don't see who is able to perform in his place. In the T&T match, we had something crazy like 11 corner kicks in the first half alone and couldn't find a Canadian player once. Wasting corners like that is obviously unacceptable, and it's Vitoria we've always been aiming for, so who's getting on the end of them in June? More importantly, who's defending set pieces around our own box as effectively as Vitoria? We weren't tested in this area against T&T, but we sure will be in June. I consider his role to be by far the most urgently in need of 'new blood', but it ain't manifested yet. If Bombito is the likely replacement then all the more reason for him to play alongside Vitoria this June, no?
