    A well renowned chef but still can appreciate with no issues, dish prepared in a fast food chain... Such a humble guy.. May his soul rest in peace.
    If only we Filipino can be as down to earth as him.
    Meron akong kwento ng isang Filipino na pumasok sa isang sikat na hotel carrying a pail with lots of crab inside..
    foreigners saw him and said " You should have put a lid on your pail of crabs because it will climb out".
    THE Filipino replied," not to worry my friend i'm sure they won't be able to climb out of that pail".
    The foreigner asked "Why? How come your so sure that they won't be able to climb out"?
    The Filipino guy simply answered," BECAUSE THESE ARE FILIPINO CRABS".

    • @kayoko1954
      @kayoko1954 Год назад +8

      Have to disagree. Compared to western civilizations and other 3rd world countries, Philippines is up there with down to earth people. Hate to say it, but your analogy pertains more to poor blacks in America. Trust me I’m more than familiar with the crab analogy. Every time I go to the Philippines, it’s actually the Chinese who live there that act high and mighty and look down on others.

      @@kayoko1954 I won't say that I'm an expert on Filipinos, but I have come to the conclusion that no matter how nice I am to them, they generally act snobby to me. I have only known a few though, but enough for me to notice a distinct pattern. So, in my experience, I would not call them 'down to Earth'.

      Noticed a pattern, for every filipino saying ‘Proud Pinoy’ there are more than double the amount of filipinos such as you who are willingly putting yourself and other filipinos down while of course praising foreigners such as myself. Why is that? I don’t mean to make this about race but I am getting some kind of humiliation fetish vibes, idk

      Yeah Right calm down you irritated bastard, during the run of No Reservations (another one of sir Anthony Bourdain's show during the late 2000's-early 2010's) there are Filipino fans of the show back then and on one of the episodes he visited the Philippines in a few key areas such as in Manila (Binondo and Quezon City), Angeles City Pampanga, and Cebu.

    I remember the off handed comments he'll make out of random. It was just his perspective. His humor, they way he visions the basics outside the normal. "Off the beaten path", he's the reason if I go somewhere. I don't just the do the basics. I venture out, get a taste of what it's like being somewhere unfamiliar. All at the same time, feeling at home. That was him. He had his struggles, but. No lie, he's the reason I got into traveling. He will most certainly be missed. Thank you sir, for these great experiences. Venture out folks!!

    First Jollibee I tried was in Daly City, CA which is in the bay area. Me and my buddy from Alabama were cruising by and had both never tried it so gave it a go. We were both surprised as to how good it was lol. Fried chicken sphagetti and burgers all in one menu it was cool n weird lol. But hey this place as far as fast food goes is really good. I live in Seattle now and the one near me at the southcenter mall in Kent gets crazy busy like lines out the door. Id say jollibee and in n out for your fast food needs.
